The is the look of despair when you're about to lose an arm wrestling match to a Vegan Cyborg, a Fit Father, and a member of the Eagles’ Bird Gang. I didn't hold back at the Washington Auto Show against five challengers that were half my age of 44 or much bigger as I heckled them on plant-based health and fitness during consecutive defeats just to prove how superior veganism can be. One dude came back to try the left arm and met the same fate. Muscle endurance is key in such competitions in addition to plant consumption. I'm always open for more and ready to defend my honor if I have any challengers? Dilly Dilly!

Many species of hoverfly larvae prey upon pest insects, including aphids and the leafhoppers, which spread some diseases such as curly top and I don't want any curly top on my tomatoes or chiles. So feel free hoverflies to come live in my garden.

Mooresville, NC - The 11th annual AutoGeek Detail Fest was a great time despite the inclement weather that rolled in Saturday afternoon.
In addition to all the activities going on at the Detail Fest car show, the film crew from Competition Ready was on hand to shoot the final episode of the new Velocity TV show Competition Ready with hosts Mike Phillips and Adrienne Janic. Part of the final episode included detailing and judging 6 professional car builder’s cars that were invited to compete for the Detailer’s Cup Trophy. Cars from Bobby Alloway, Andy Leach, Gateway Mustang, Year One, Hot Rod Transformations and our very own 1969 Charger from Detroit Speed were part of the invited builders. When the professional and celebrity judges cast their final votes, Andy Leach’s Ridler winning 1940 Ford was crowned champion of the inaugural Detailer’s Cup.
The crew at AutoGeek had many activities going on throughout the weekend. There was live car detailing demonstrations, celebrity autograph signings with Mike Phillips, Chris Jacobs, Dennis Gage, Ray Evernham from Americarna, Bruno Massel and Matt Steele from Truck U, Cristy Lee from All Girls Garage and even Barry Meguiar was on hand.
Other events included the car builders sat down and talked as a panel on the cars that were on display with Chris Jacobs. The facility at AutoGeek is a must see, thank you for opening the doors and make sure you keep them in mind when you are in need of any car detailing supplies.
Detroit Speed will have a bit of a home event coming up next April 15th - 17th. The crew will head up I-85 for the Goodguys 2nd North Carolina Nationals in Raleigh. We hope to see you out there!

My wife was throwing this ball to my daughter in an attempt to start to develop her Tennis skills. I had my camera (as usual) : )
On my last visit to Wegerzyn, this little girl was sitting up near the entrance to the building. It was a pretty, sunny day and as I watched from a distance, everyone who walked by stopped to say hello to her. She was very friendly, but very thin and obviously hungry. There were a lot of sympathetic "awwww's", but people kept on walking. Nobody there volunteered to take her home. So I said to myself - if she's still there when I am finished, if no one else takes her home with them - then I'll take her home with me.
I'm amazed that 500 people could walk right by this little baby and not have the heart to help. Worse yet, its obvious that she was someone's cat and they just dumped her there. The vet said she has recently had a litter of 2 or 3 kittens (that were already weaned) and she had probably been dumped because she did not produce more. No chip, no Craig's list posting, nothing in the paper or on Facebook. Nobody's looking for her.
As far as introductions to the other beasts in the house - well, she stood her ground with the beagles. Most of the other dogs are oblivious. Shadow doesn't know what she is yet, and Cat is not impressed.
Rear view of an appartment house which is being completely renovated and added on to. A beverage distributor used to have a large storage area under an equally large terrace which is now partially built over.
I had forgotten how many suprises await one during a renovation. Note to all: do not underestimate!
The indoor palm was Olsen’s addition to the space, “it looks like a banana tree.” He explains, “I really like bananas.”

In addition to guarding The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the Tomb Guards have many daily rituals they must perform in preparation of their walk on the plaza. Soldiers must first press and steam out all wrinkles from their uniforms. Next, they must clean and buff out all scratches and dirtiness from their medals and decorations. Third, they must practice their rifle movements to ensure crisp and sharp movements are always executed. Finally, the Tomb Guards put on their uniforms and ensure that it immaculate and free of lint. My step-mum (of sorts!), Mette. Another member of my ginger family. I'm a bit of a contrast to these lot, dark hair, dark eyes, no freckles. A neat little father, mother, child of gingers. And then there's me. The black haired sheep. I find gingers fascinating- my childhood memories are filled with images of my dad covered in factor 50, of zinc on his nose, the tops of his toes burning, his skin reflecting the sun. My mother and i would look on smugly. Now he's got company...
I haven't been keeping up with these as much because there are so many now. But she's unique in her bubblegum pink! And what a name!
Prominently located at the north end of Tyler's main street and visible as soon as you turn off the highway into town. It was constructed in 1903, replacing an 1880-vintage frame building. Primary grades were on the first floor, grades 8-12 on the second floor and the attic housed a chemistry lab, home economics classrooms and a practice gymnasium. It was later connected by a series of additions, starting with a 1918 high school addition to the east.
