Baba (Hindu devotee) with large white and red Ramanandi Tilaka (ritual forehead marking) in saffron color cloth sitting at bonfire with large logs, during the Maha Shivaratri Hindu Festival (Nepal)
From Wikipedia: In Sanatan Dharma (Hinduism), the deep saffron color is associated with sacrifice, religious abstinence, quest for light and salvation. Saffron or "Bhagwa" is the most sacred color for the Hindus and is often worn by Sanyasis who have left their home in search of the ultimate truth.
Hundreds of thousands of Sadhus, Babas, Hindu devotees and pilgrims converge to the Pashupatinath Temple in Kathmandu during the Shivaratri festival ('Great Night of Shiva'), to pray Lord Shiva.

People on the Coyote at night.
The giant Coyote sculpture by Bryan Tedrick (bryantedrick.com).
View my other photos of the Coyote sculpture.
Photo taken at the Burning Man 2013 festival (Black Rock Desert, Nevada).
I heard that several people got injured on the Coyote (broken arms / wrists and what not). No-one died. Initially the coyote head could spin. I think many people got hit by the giant metal ears, This was the dangerous part especially if you didn't realize the head could spin. After taking several people to the hospital, they put a sign "Don't climb - Seriously", and locked the head. People kept climbing it anyway, since the sculpture was designed to be climbed. Later, the sign was changed to a more adequate "Climb at your own risks".

My friend laying down near a Sailing Stone on the Racetrack dry lake in Death Valley (California)
Sailing stones are rocks that move in long tracks on the smooth and perfectly flat surface of a dry lake, without human or animal intervention. The rocks are most likely propelled by strong winds while entrapped in floating ice sheets (or icebergs), after winter rains flooded the dry lake and made the mud soft and slippery.

Police on Horses patrolling the Sangam at Kumbh Mela, where hundreds of thousands Hindu pilgrims are gathering before dawn on the bank of the Ganges river, near Allahabad (India)
Many policemen were also patrolling on foot, blowing incessantly in their whistles and asking people to not loiter and leave the area quickly after the bath, to make room for the coming crowd. The horse police was used for crowd control, and they could get a better view of the area.
The Triveni Sangam is the confluence of the Yamuna and the Ganga (Ganges) rivers, and this is the holiest place to take the ritual baths during the Kumbh Mela.
This was the early morning of January 27 (a full-moon night, called Paush Purnima), one of the most auspicious mornings for taking the holy bath. After a 7 km night walk, I arrived at the Sangam area at about 3am, early enough to be well positioned to take a few good photos in this gigantic crowd. The yellowish color is caused by the dim sodium-vapor street lights.

That's how my KLR 650 motorbike looked when I reached home, after spending a week at the Burning Man festival. I'd say there was at least 150 lbs of luggage on that work-horse. Plus a few lbs of playa dust!
It looked like that from the side.
The bike was so heavy that it was unstable on the kick-stand, so i was using a wooden stick to prop it on the other side.
My left pannier is an aluminium Happy-Trail box, while the right one is a Pelican 1550 plastic case. The rack is a knock-off of the Happy-Trail rack, and it proved to be pretty sturdy.
