I hiked up to a ridge above the Auli ski resort near Joshimath (India)
I was pretty happy when I finally reached that ridge at an elevation of 3,500 m (11,500 ft), with an amazing panoramic view of the high mountains all around, and patches of snow on the pastures.
I did the first part of the hike with a group of nice Russian bikers that I met in Joshimath, but they gave up before the top, so I did the rest of the hike solo.

This is a US Government property. No Trespassing!
The Public Health Service Hospital (PHSH) is located in the Presidio of San Francisco. It has been rehabilitated into luxury condos housing in 2010, and it is now called "Presidio Landmark Apartments".

Art Car "Joy"
Ildiko Cziglenyi and her partner built this art car. Her name is "Joy". The front grill & lights are from an old Oliver tractor, but the engine is really a riding lawn mower that usually pulls a Gypsy Wagon called "Phoenix" (not on this photo).

Woman dancing salsa during the procession. A group from a salsa dance school was walking with a mobile salsa dance square, with salsa dancers. It was very cool but hard to get a good photo of it, given the low light in the street.

Daryl's amazing railroad tattoo (San Francisco)
Train tracks, switches and tunnels cover his entire body, front and back, from head to toes (litterally), in a perfectly symetrical and seamless pattern. He designed the tattoo and said it took 200 hours of work to realise the work.
Daryl spent many years of his life "freight train hopping", which involves countless days of walking long miles along desert tracks.

Terraced rice fields in a river bend (India)
In the Himalayas, land that can be cultivated is rare. Any area with a slope not too steep and that can be irrigated is made into terrace fields.

The amazing Nautilus Submarine art car.
“The Nautilus” by Five Ton Crane, a San Francisco Bay Area art collective, is a 25 foot long art car inspired by the submarine from 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea. It has a water cannon and a night vision periscope, but its most awesome detail is a 4 foot diameter door with a motorized brass aperture window shade and a squid-themed keyless entry system (video). The door was designed and built by artist Dr. Alan Rorie.

A steam locomotive pulling a passenger train from the Darjeeling train station (India)
The locomotive is configured backward on this train (it is going towards the left on the photo). Not that it makes a big difference, since those locomotives can be used equally in either direction.

The Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, locally known as the "Toy Train", is a 2 ft (610 mm) narrow gauge railway that runs between New Jalpaiguri and Darjeeling (India). It is still operated by vintage British-built B Class steam locomotives. Operations between Siliguri and Kurseong have been temporarily suspended since 2010 following a Landslide at Tindharia (view photos of the landslide).
