Robot Dance Party was definitely one the coolest performance I saw at this year's Burning Man.

A buch or Smily-Face robots with speakers were playing (together) old disco classics and dancing with hillarious moves. One woman was controling the music played by the robots, using a iPad and an FM transmitter. High-tech + Low-tech + Clever idea. This was a great monent!

I hiked up to a ridge above the Auli ski resort near Joshimath (India)

I was pretty happy when I finally reached that ridge at an elevation of 3,500 m (11,500 ft), with an amazing panoramic view of the high mountains all around, and patches of snow on the pastures.

I did the first part of the hike with a group of nice Russian bikers that I met in Joshimath, but they gave up before the top, so I did the rest of the hike solo.

Trimbakeshwar Mandir , also popularly known as the Tera Manzil Temple, is housed at 5th floor of the 14+1 story building. Ground floor is occupied by some commercial establishment besides some Shrines. Several shrines & some shops are located on the other floors.

The Bunny March is a flash-mob type event where all the bunnies of the city assemble and march to The Man, then to Center Camp, causing devastation and mayhem. They attached giant bunny ears to "The Man".

The red mark indicates the maximum pressure that the boiler can support. The numbers on the gauge indicates 10x PSI (pounds per square inch), and those boilers are tested up to 140 PSI.

The Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, locally known as the "Toy Train", is a 2 ft (610 mm) narrow gauge railway that runs between New Jalpaiguri and Darjeeling (India). It is still operated by vintage British-built B Class steam locomotives. Operations between Siliguri and Kurseong have been temporarily suspended since 2010 following a Landslide at Tindharia (view photos of the landslide).

Sunrise at the summit of mount Semeru, the highest mountain in Java (12,060 ft), and an active volcano.

The ascent of this volcano was the toughest trek i ever did, so i'm glad i got a couple of amazing photos at the top. from the base camp, i started the climb at night at 1:30am with a headlamp, to reach the summit by sunrise. the last stretch of the climb is basically a half-mile high very steep heap of loose gravel.

The Areca nut is wrapped with "lá trầu" leaf (Betel leaf) and chewed for its exhilarating lift. Betel quids chewing has been claimed to produce a sense of well-being, euphoria, heightened alertness, sweating, salivation, a hot sensation in the body and increased capacity to work.

Just like alcohol, tobacco, coffee and sakau, Areca nut and Betel leaf are culturally-approved psychoactive drugs.

Sign on the window of a womens clinic.

In India, prenatal gender determination (aka Prenatal sex discernment) of the fetus is illegal, because many women prefer to abort if they carry a girl.

Women prefer to have boys since they can more easily work and bring revenue to the family.

Women are still very much discriminated upon in india, and they are considered "inferior" to men in many respect.

In India, no laboratory or clinic is allowed to conduct any test including ultrasonography for the purpose of determining the sex of the fetus.

Prenatal sex determination was banned in India in 1994, under the Pre-conception and Prenatal Diagnostic Techniques (Prohibition of Sex Selection) Act. The act aims to prevent sex-selective abortion, which, according to the Indian Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, "has its roots in India’s long history of strong patriarchal influence in all spheres of life".

The amazing Nautilus Submarine art car.

“The Nautilus” by Five Ton Crane, a San Francisco Bay Area art collective, is a 25 foot long art car inspired by the submarine from 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea. It has a water cannon and a night vision periscope, but its most awesome detail is a 4 foot diameter door with a motorized brass aperture window shade and a squid-themed keyless entry system (video). The door was designed and built by artist Dr. Alan Rorie.
