Thorn - since the 12th century, they served secular matters and formed the government of a truly sovereign miniature principality, the smallest independent state in the German Holy Roman Empire, approximately 250 x 250 metres. Besides Thorn, Ittervoort, Grathem, Baexem, Stramproy, Ell, Haler and Molenbeersel belonged to this principality. Thix ended after the French invasion in the winter of 1794–95 and the formal abolition in 1797 made an end to the existence of the abbey.

Relaxing and curative power of mineral waters. The Thermes de Spa is a very nice facility to enjoy a relaxing Spa with inside and outside pools filled with water direct from the mineral springs.
---
Details
Thermes de Spa - in the 16th century, the commercialization of the thermal baths began and many spa guests came to Spa. The first bathing establishment was built in 1764 and the city became known as a health resort. A health resort (German: Kurort, English: spa) is a tourist resort that focuses on relaxation and recreation, but with a medical emotional value. A stay in a spa is considered beneficial for health due to medicinal springs, in this case the iron and carbonated water of the thermal baths of Spa, but also the healthy air. In Nivezé there are three springs of which the water is used for the thermal baths of Spa: Marie-Henriette spring, Tonnelet spring and Wellington spring. The term Spa has become a generic term for spa tourism in English and some other languages.
In 1764, the first bathing establishment was built in Spa and the city became known as a health resort, so in 1774 the second casino in Europe was also opened. In the second half of the 19th century, the thermal infrastructure was built as it still exists today. Among the many mainly affluent visitors, the international bourgeoisie, we see names such as Victor Hugo, Tsar Peter the Great, Alexandre Dumas and Meyerbeer.

Hellevoetsluis - During the time of the United Provinces Hellevoetsluis was the naval port of the Admiralty of de Maze (Rotterdam) and could accommodate an entire fleet within a special land-enclosed fortress with harbour and dockyard facilities, accessible through a canal. Thanks to its strategic situation the town grew from the beginning of the 17th century to be the homeport for the Dutch war fleet. In later years the port was fortified more and more and Hellevoetsluis therefore became a unique combination of fortified town and naval port. The Admirals Maarten Tromp, Michiel de Ruyter and Piet Heyn had their home base here and in 1688 during the Glorious Revolution William III of Orange's invasion fleet departed from the port.

Fontaine de Vaucluse (spring) - a karst spring in the commune of Fontaine-de-Vaucluse, Vaucluse department. The largest spring in France by volume of water released, and ranks fifth among the world's largest springs. The spring, The fountain of Vaucluse, surges in March for about 5 weeks and then subsides. feeds the River Sorgue, is the only exit point of a 1,100-square-kilometre (420 sq mi) underground basin, which captures waters from Mont Ventoux, the Vaucluse Mountains, the Albion Plateau and the Lure Mountain.
In Antiquity the site was a place of ritual offerings. Various exploration dives revealed many ancient deposits of currency en historical objects. and a large collection dating from the 1st century BC to the middle of 5th century AD. The water of this exsurgence contains an average of 200 milligrams per litre (0.00012 oz/cu in) of calcium carbonate, and has an annual flow of about 700,000,000 cubic metres (2.5×1010 cu ft), so the reservoir loses 50,000 cubic metres (1,800,000 cu ft) of limestone each year.
This karstification phenomenon acting on the surface of the impluvium, removes an annual volume of 45 cubic metres (1,600 cu ft) per square kilometre, which disappears after being dissolved in the water.

Hellevoetsluis: Weather Photography
The Canal through Voorne is a canal in the Dutch province of South Holland on the island of Voorne. It was dug by thousands of workers by hand, using shovel, wheelbarrow and horse power between Hellevoetsluis and the village of Nieuwesluis, which disappeared in the 1960s, and was completed in 1829. It is 10.5 km long, over 30 m wide and 5.30-5.70 m deep.
The canal was dug as a connection between the Meuse and the North Sea for trade and industry and was widely used in the 19th century by ships transporting coal, iron and other goods. When the Nieuwe Waterweg was completed in the 20th century, the canal lost its function with a much wider and deeper shipping route. The canal is now a popular place for recreation, especially fishing.

Catacombes de Paris - Tour
The Catacombs of Paris is the largest collection of underground cemeteries in the world, containing the bones of approximately six million Parisians in underground burial chambers and galleries.
Underground in Paris is a nearly 300 km long network of quarry tunnels used for the building blocks of many Parisian buildings and monuments such as Notre Dame. Because the Parisian cemeteries were overcrowded and very unclean, it was decided to close the cemeteries and move the bones to the underground passages.
It would take two years to empty the majority of Paris's cemeteries. Beginning from an opening ceremony on 7 April 1785 with nightly processions of black cloth-covered wagons carrying the millions of Parisian dead. The property itself was transformed into a sort of museum for all the headstones, sculptures and other artifacts recuperated from the former cemetery. The human remains were dumped into empty chambers and covered with a neatly stacked wall of skulls and bones. Plaques indicate which cemetery the bones come from. Until well into the 19th century, the Catacombs of Paris remained in use for the storage of bones.
Today, about half a million visit a 1.7 km section of the tunnels. It is a former quarry from the 15th century containing the graves of up to the 18th century. After a descent of 25 meters of stairs, a walk takes the visitor past one of the catacombs where the stacked bones and skulls lie, arranged by cemetery where the bones come from and the year they were deposited in the catacombs or by events in the Parisian history.

Puerto Dorado village overrun by pirates in search of treasure. The first sight is the town square, where some pirates have kidnapped the mayor, Carlos, and threaten to drown him in a well if he doesn't divulge the location of the treasure. Carlos' wife tells him to be brave and not talk; she is shot at as Carlos is repeatedly dunked in the water while several other captive city officials look on. Captain Jack Sparrow is seen hiding behind some dresses. An auction scene follows, where a pirate auctions off loot from the townspeople to other pirates. A redheaded female pirate is more interested in the town's rum supply, as are the bidders, who ignore the chickens that are currently offered for bidding.
In a next scene, pirates run around chasing women holding trays of food, and two foolish buccaneers who have stolen snacks are chased by an angry woman holding a rolling pin. Just beyond is the "Pooped Pirate" drunkenly waving a map and key to a treasure vault, boasting that Captain Jack Sparrow will never see it. Jack is hiding in a barrel just behind him, popping out and getting a good look at the map over the pirate's shoulder. Off to the side, a pirate by the name of "Old Bill" wants to share rum with a group of terrified alley cats.
Carefree, tipsy pirates succeed in ravaging the town and setting it aflame, filling the night air with an orange glow.

Just near Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG) Airport, you'll find a Champs-Élysées like Outlet Shopping Center. It includes 110 exclusive top fashion and homeware boutiques.
Even the village like architecture, including the small bistro's, is exquisite and colorful indeed. The (price)tag #lavalleevillage could be the new trend for some time to come.

Skeleton art of the dead.
.
There are no complete skeletons to be seen, but the bones and the heads that form the outer wall of the further bones that are piled up. Often patterns of skulls and bones are formed in these walls of bones. Sometimes a bit bizarre like the skulls that form a heart in a pile of bones.

Flying Dutchman Golden Age harbor.
.
The design and architecture of the Flying Dutchman attraction is breathtakingly beautiful. The atmosphere of a VOC harbor from the Golden Age has been incorporated in the building in so many details and features in an original way. More than a hundred different ornaments in this attraction have been designed and produced by Efteling, some in large numbers. A very beautiful version of the saga of "The Flying Dutchman", in person Willem van der Decken, captain of the VOC ship "The Lands Ship of War Delft" from 1783.
