Chilled air over warm water produced this evocative autumnal image. Waited patiently till the sun crept over the trees to highlight the mist. Ashburnham, East Sussex UK

Sunrise at Milang, South Australia. Great shapes and colours with a lot of atmospheric distortion going on

Shot at 200mm.

Sundown in the volatile spring sky with reflective natural backlighting. The snow on the western side of the ridge illuminates and reflects up to the clouds immediately above as the setting sun meets the horizon. It doesn't last long, maybe 30 seconds.

We watched this storm twist and turn and rotate. Sometimes... quite often actually, they don't wind up doing what you were hoping for... namely, organizing itself.

There weren't a lot of us out on Wimbledon Common on this day as the very thick mist made it feel very spooky. I entered a clearing and happened upon a lone dog walker trying to orientate themselves in what are usually familiar surroundings.

I was drawn to this image for two reasons, firstly it is rare for there to be a clear sky in NW England (I am not joking!) and secondly it was the colour of the moon that my wife noticed and who alerted me. From a little bit of googling it seems that this is caused by atmospheric pollution.

Il cielo di settembre diventa una tavolozza. La luna, quasi invisibile. Nuvole veloci e dalle forme bizzarre. L'azzurro di sfondo. Tutto come in un quadro di Mirò.

Buona serata :)

Red Lane is an ancient trackway and ox-track that has remained unchanged for centuries. These tracks are called "holloways" because they have been worn down below the level of the surrounding fields after hundreds of years of use. Standing here with only the sounds of the birdsong and the breeze rustling the trees and hedgerows it is easy to imagine that you have travelled back in time, and you half-expect to see an ox-cart to appear trundling around the corner.

Taken in October on a great foggy morning.

The distant sound of 645s and 2800's Nathan K5LA marked the arrival of J780 at Big Tunnel on their way back home to North Vernon. The tunnel was originally built in 1857 but took its present brick-lined form in 1898.

An old church in Lynchburg, Virginia is virtually consumed by a turbulent atmosphere on an early morning…

Scenery around my home town. Not at all a friend of Mr Winter but I have to admit, there are those magic days once in a while I really enjoy!

This is in Greenwood County, Kansas. Even though it's a simple composition, there was something compelling about the way the black horse was mirroring the white one. Almost like a shadow. Even though the scene is peaceful, I was stopped a little ways down the road by a man wanting to know what I was up to. Apps used were Snapseed, Handy Photo and Image Blender.

I hope we're gonna get some snow!! This scene is outside my front door. We've had spurts of rain here and there!!! I took this pic just a few minutes ago and it says yesterday the 9th! LOL :) Have a nice day everyone! :)

Just experimenting with the new camera.

I like the dreamy, mirage-like look created by a very long lens (in this case a 500mm mirror which, with the micro 4/3 crop factor of 2+ becomes 1000mm).

The conditions were amazing for this there was flat light and heavy fog as far as you could see in the distance and the waves were crashing in. You could see the wind battered trees and the erosion to the tree line.

Take a punch or two, but fight back.
