Another wonderful foggy sunrise with cloud above and below me, taken at Big Hill lookout in Stawell, Victoria.
Happy Nice Wonderful Cloud Tuesday!
I made this edit based on a recommendation. I am really like how it turned out, what do you think would be a good title. Thanks for the suggestion frugalphotographer
Vienna May 2023
Carriage rides in Vienna are a popular but expensive tourist attraction, which I have not tried out. However, they contribute to the glamorous atmosphere reminiscent of the old imperial times and it is impossible to imagine the city without them.
The harvest around our area is about complete already, and so it’s time to grab some straw bale shots😁.
I was woken early the other morning by the wife, who mentioned that there was some mist and colour in the sky (you’ve got to love her😁); and so I popped out to grab some quick shots. Although this spot is only a couple of minutes from where I live, the sky colours were already dissipating. However, as the sun came above the hill I was able to get some shots of the backlit bales.
The sun is a little too bright in this shot having fully crested the hill, but it’s the wife’s favourite from the set.

Afternoon shadows in the Grand Canyon. Alternate title: “Rocks of Ages”. The last of a short series of Canyon photos exploring different styles, but there will be more after a digression to other locations.

I've just had a weekend away to Dartmoor and Friday night I caught an epic sunset at this intriguing little spot called Windy Post.
When I first started doing landscape photography I went here and got a fantastic sunset then too. I've just looked back at the shots in my Devon album, gosh it was 2016! Have I really been doing photography that long?
I wouldn't mind if I thought I'd improved!
In this urban scene, with street lights and classic architecture, there is a sense of despair and isolation.
The solitary figure can seem determined, but also isolated in a busy and impersonal world.

Dans cette scène urbaine, avec des lumières de rue et une architecture classique, on ressent un sentiment de désespoir et d'isolement.
La silhouette solitaire peut sembler déterminée, mais aussi isolée dans un monde animé et impersonnel.
The heavy atmosphere blends the sky with the river boundlessly.
Pacific Northwest - Winter Fog
Fog:
A thick cloud of tiny water droplets suspended in the atmosphere at or near the earth's surface that obscures or restricts visibility (to a greater extent than mist; strictly, reducing visibility to below 1 km)

The muted colours of the sunset are reflected by the calm surface of the lake, as ripples gently pass by..
In addition, the shallow lake water is warm in tone, as affected by rocks, sand, and algae underneath the surface. Such features all contribute to the lake's pastel colours.

Another from a wonderfully atmospheric autumn day on one of my favourite walks in the Arans in Wales. This was the view looking back from near the summit of Aran Benllyn to the summit of Aran Fawddwy, the highest mountain south of Snowdon. I was fortunate to catch the sunlight highlighting the rocky outcrops as the weather began to close in. I hope I can get back there one day.
