Sun is walking beneath the trees, bringing light and colors, shapes and contrast. These little atmospheric places are always nice to find.

Fairies are tiny, often beautiful human-like creatures that appear in legends and folklore around the world. Fairies likely began as versions of pagan nature gods and goddesses, and thus they are often associated with the forests, and fairy tales.
I waited for 15 minutes hoping for this stag to appear over the hill with the sun coming up behind it

A man walking on a cobbled path at night can seem mysterious and intriguing. At night, the paved path is bathed in a faint glow that emanates from the stars and the moon. The man walks slowly, the sound of his footsteps echoing on the cobblestones, breaking the silence that envelops the night.

As fall roars in over Southern Indiana, the cool morning air causes the warmer lake water to release fog. With there being so many restrictions, rules and new requirements over the past few years, I like so many have felt as if I have been placed in a box. Until recently, I would have allowed the mist/fog to detour what I tried to capture. And if I captured it, if it wasn’t in perfect focus it was discarded without hesitation.
Maybe its wisdom, maybe its foolish or maybe its just an old guy digging in his heels and saying no more boxes!
Choose to chase experiences, choose to keep looking for His beauty…even in the fog.

Designed by famed theater architect John Eberson in Spanish Andalusian style and opened in 1922, this theater seats 1,674, contains a screen measuring 54' x 33', which is the second-largest in the state (it can be raised up and down when the stage is used for live performances).
The stunningly restored Indiana Theater once again screens movies, as well as hosting, as noted above, live entertainment, such as concerts and special events.

Down the long , tree lined trail
Under the mist, that does sail
Awaits mystery, the great unknown
That is found and is blown
Over the trees, along the trail
Where it conquers and does sail
Towards the eyes, which wait to see
Mystery revealed, wild and free

Well I decided to head out to good old Steelhead Falls in Mission the day after an atmospheric river had come through the province. This is the result, crazy white water in all the rivers and falls, which yes was expected. Video coming soon. Kris...
Taken on a very atmospheric and misty evening at my favourite beach. It reminds me of the painter Turner a bit!

My 'Clear Outside' weather app mentioned nothing of mist being present at Bled, where I am based, so I surfaced at 7am, showered, nipped to McDonald's for breakfast, and ventured towards a lovely little place called Planini Zajamniki, which has a selection of cute, wooden lodges that nestle in a valley below you. It's rather a famous location on Instagram.
However, en-route there and while driving 6km along the gravel road, heavy mist descended in the forests all around me. I did not know where to look first such were the amazing atmospheric scenes on both sides of me. I was in seventh heaven although keeping one eye on the gravel road was a must otherwise a quick trip down into the trees would follow and I did not want that.
On arriving at Planini Zajamniki, I could only see one wooden cabin so I spent some time there working on different compositions before moving on up the road where I came across this section of forest. I was looking down into the forest from the road and the trees looked spectacular in the mist so there was nothing for it but to pull over and spend a couple of hours in there.
This image was just one of a handful that I shot and I have sympathetically edited it. Removing a little contrast and slightly holding back the saturation of the colours. I like the result.

The outcrop of rock leans out as if to topple. Below it (lower right of pucture) is a slate blast shelter where the quarry workers would retreat to before each blasting, several times a day. Hand built of slate these small round huts had a roof several feet thick but even still I think I would feel nervous sat below that mass.
This is just a small scene from Dinorwic, towards the lower levels. I've yet to find somewhere else as atmospheric.
I met a young guy from Huddersfield, a recovering addict I think, who was on his own adventure to rediscover and prove himself. His video is here www.youtube.com/watch?v=hsvZTXutM5A

This is what an atmospheric river looks like. When you’re in its path, though, it feels more like an atmospheric ocean. What you can’t see is the parked car rocking in the wind and the army of liquid arrows assaulting me and my camera as soon as I crack the window.
There is a second ocean in the sky, a partner ocean. It travels, commutes, and ultimately comes home to the sea. We’re unaware of it rising, as sleeping children are unaware of the parent rising before dawn to work and provide for them. And so we only experience its return to our home ground.
Salty water has been made sweet. Dirty water has been made pure. The living land has been replenished. And in the midst of a dark storm, a single beam of sunlight touching water can spark a brilliance that changes the world.
