Sun rays piercing through tropical forest in natural light
Rayos de sol atravesando un bosque tropical en luz natural
Sunbeams filter through dense tropical vegetation, cutting across palm fronds and layered foliage in a humid forest environment. The image highlights volumetric light, atmospheric depth, and the contrast between shadow and saturated greens. A visual study of illumination, moisture and organic structure shaped by morning light within a lush ecosystem.

Amersfoort is a very historic and atmospheric city east of Amsterdam. It has many beautiful medieval buildings that are well maintained. It is a busy place with just over 150,000 inhabitants.
The first villagers probably settled in Amersfoort around the 11th century, as it was a strategic location near a fortress in the river. This would most likely have been important for both trade and travel, as all travelers heading that way would have to pass through the village to cross the river.
Being in such a good trading location, the village grew and prospered quickly and soon more permanent buildings were established around the central area. The city was chartered to become a city in the late 13th century and soon the construction of the city walls began.
Construction of the new church began in the mid-15th century. this lasted well and the city continued to grow until 1787, there was a massive explosion in the church, which destroyed most of the main building. The high tower (Onze Lieve Vrouwe Toren - Lange Jan), with a length of almost 100 meters, has remained and still stands. Amersfoort had also become an important trade center for tobacco and textiles.
Thanks everyone for your amazing support! :-) Have a wonderful day, my friends.

The harvest around our area is about complete already, and so it’s time to grab some straw bale shots😁.
I was woken early the other morning by the wife, who mentioned that there was some mist and colour in the sky (you’ve got to love her😁); and so I popped out to grab some quick shots. Although this spot is only a couple of minutes from where I live, the sky colours were already dissipating. However, as the sun came above the hill I was able to get some shots of the backlit bales.
The sun is a little too bright in this shot having fully crested the hill, but it’s the wife’s favourite from the set.
I've just had a weekend away to Dartmoor and Friday night I caught an epic sunset at this intriguing little spot called Windy Post.
When I first started doing landscape photography I went here and got a fantastic sunset then too. I've just looked back at the shots in my Devon album, gosh it was 2016! Have I really been doing photography that long?
I wouldn't mind if I thought I'd improved!
I wished I got out of bed early more often. Shortly after sunrise I was able to capture this atmospheric autumn scene fron The Esplanade at New Norfolk.

The muted colours of the sunset are reflected by the calm surface of the lake, as ripples gently pass by..
In addition, the shallow lake water is warm in tone, as affected by rocks, sand, and algae underneath the surface. Such features all contribute to the lake's pastel colours.
