The Atlantis Hotel located in Bathsheba, St. Joseph parish, Barbados. Currently under renovations.. but to me it looks more like complete demolition. Built in 1882. Demo/Reno 2008.

Commissioned by Ludwig Roselius and constructed as a demonstratively modern Art Deco building of glass, wood and ferro-concrete, it was therefore structured specifically to house an institute for the study of Atlantis with a lecture theatre, reading room, club rooms (for members of Roselius' Club zu Bremen) and exhibition space.

After suffering serious war damage, it was rebuilt in 1965 with a new facade designed by Ewald Mataré. Today, Haus Atlantis is part of a Radisson Blu hotel.

Atlantis Paradise Island is an ocean-themed resort on Paradise Island in the Bahamas. It features a variety of accommodations built around Aquaventure, a 62-hectare waterscape, which includes fresh and saltwater lagoons, pools, marine habitats, water slides, and river rides.

Es werden zwischen zwei und drei Unterarten anerkannt. Die Nominatform variiert allmählich (klinal) von Osten nach Westen hin zu größeren und oberseits dunkleren Vögeln. Die kleinere Unterart Makaronesiens L. m. atlantis zeigt vor allem auf den Azoren eine sehr dunkle Oberseite, die an die Heringsmöwe erinnert. Vögel von Madeira oder den Kanaren ähneln teils eher der Nominatform. Im Winterkleid ist der Kopf adulter Vögel ausgedehnt braun gestrichelt. Zwischen Nominatform und atlantis vermittelt die umstrittene Unterart L. m. lusitanius der nordwestlichen Iberischen Halbinsel sowohl im Hinblick auf Gefiederfärbung, Größe und DNA-Befunde.

the bag I ordered at nahbs arrived. Just like I expected it to be. Navyblue with a reflective section. The bailey works folks were nice enough to make one for me as I wanted it. It fits the nitto mini rack exactly.

A labor of passion over nine months. Purchased from a Seattlite in August 2013, painted, squirreled away parts for the build and now the 2003 Toyo Atlantis is complete. Been doing shake down riding for the last two weeks and it's a dream.

I've been trying out my polarizing filter. I've gotten some great results when shooting sunsets but when the sky is rather blah I find that it doesn't make much of a difference. Am I missing something?
I was fortunate enough to spend last week at the Atlantis resort in the Bahamas. I was able to go out shooting each of the five days I spent there, and caught just about every sunset the islands had to show off during my trip. The combination of light, clouds, sea and amazing architecture of the hotel were absolutely stunning and I am looking forward to posting many more pics here in the coming weeks. I found it remarkable how busy with people the resort grounds were during the day, while at sunset, in the peak of it's beauty, there was hardly anyone in sight, leaving me with the place to myself.

Atlantis in Dubai.
Atlantis is the focal point on the amazing man made, palm shaped island called Palm Jumeirah. Atlantis is a hotel complete with a waterpark, an underwater aquarium, its own beach plus a hefty price tag for its rooms.
This shot is taken inside the hotel grounds, on the beach with the lights of Dubai behind me.
I took the monorail onto the Palm Jumeirah. The hotel had a lot of security screening visitors at the front door. I wasnt staying at the hotel but I just casually walked past security, made eye contact, gave them a knowing nod and I was let through the front door.

Aan het eind van de boulevard in Kijkduin ligt een speelboot voor kinderen. De vloer is inmiddels al zo versleten dat ik denk dat ook hier groot onderhoud nodig is.
