Discovering Campi Flegrei IV: Bacoli, Casina Vanvitelliana.

Mendocino is a California town with great food and art. It sits on a rocky headland with a scenic trail. We liked to follow it around and then come back over a hill to the starting point. There are fine views of the coastal rocks and wave action as seen in this image taken on the north side. It is meditative to sit and watch the waves surge through them.

Bringing up the rear of an empty coal train, BNSF 9979 helps slow its train to a stop as they occupy the main at SSS Longs Peak. To my knowledge, no H2 SD70MACs are currently equipped with PTC. This in mind, it was a nice treat to find one working in coal service, fulfilling the same role they were built for over 25 years later.

As we took the ferry back from the zoo to Circular Quay we got a good look at Diamond Princess, which was anchored in Sydney Harbour.

Diamond Princess is a British-registered cruise ship owned and operated by Princess Cruises. She began operation in March 2004 and primarily cruises in Asia during the northern hemisphere summer and Australia during the southern hemisphere summer. She is a subclassed Grand-class ship, which is also known as a Gem-class ship. Diamond Princess and her sister ship, Sapphire Princess, are the widest subclass of Grand-class ships, as they have a 37.5-metre (123 ft 0 in) beam, while all other Grand-class ships have a beam of 36 metres (118 ft 1 in). Diamond Princess and Sapphire Princess were both built in Nagasaki, Japan, by Mitsubishi Industries.

As I head towards Castle Crag I look back to see the sun starting to light up the land..

As Boxing day 2008 draws to a close a southbound train steams over Swithland Reservoir as the sun sinks into the horizon at the end of a beautiful winters day.

As the Welsh Highland Railway service passes under Snowdon (peak top left of picture) through Rhyd-Ddu, the NG/G16 130 locomotive, which was originally built in Manchester and worked in South Africa until 1985, creates a captivating spectacle. The lush green grass and the sturdy track blend seamlessly with the majestic mountain in the background, evoking a sense of timeless wonder and adventure. The train chugs along like a steadfast beast, forging its path through the picturesque landscape.

As always, your faves and comments are appreciated. Constructive criticism and suggestions are especially welcome as I believe they help to make me a better photographer. Thank you for taking the time to look at my photos.

As promised, more of the ring-necked ducklings.

The 2-duckling version is my favorite, despite having the fewest ducklings in the capture, because they are not both going in the same direction. They finally became somewhat comfortable with my presence that they were not looking for an immediate escape route.

There is evidence dating back as far as 4,000 years ago that manicures took place in southern Babylonia. Fast forward to modern times we see that fingernails remain a natural canvas for the expression of creative imagination.

When it comes to scoring a totally amazing manicure here in SL, check out this beautiful LEXU Cerise Nail art.

These fabulous nails possess subtle variations of red. These nails are a great way to enhance your appearance, while showing off your personality.

These LEXU Nails fit BBL, Belleza, Kupra, Legacy, Maitreya, Reborn, Slink, and Tonic mesh bodies.

I am also modeling the Cesar Necklace and Earring Collection by Evado. This Valentine inspired Heart collection has two metal finish options, each with 6 metals colors to choose from.

There are also 22 colors for the stone gems and hearts to choose from. The necklace comes rigged for Maitreya (+ Petite), Legacy (+ Perky) and Reborn. Also included is an unrigged version with a resize option.

To complete my look, I am wearing ILLUMA Heart Eyes and Luxury Lipstick in crimson red.

Heart makeup speaks to the elementary school kid in me. Back then, it was so much fun handing out handmade Valentines to my classmates. And now Kathryn brings that same feeling home experimenting with makeup.

This ILLUMA Heart Eyes is a cool way to wear a heart, while creating a fabulous accent to your eyes. So why not take the plunge and accentuate your upper lids with a little love!

These ILLUMA, LEXU, and EVADO products are available at Swank's Fifty Shades of Red February Event.

As I climb higher, the clouds descend and completely shroud the summit of Glas Tulaichean. Normally I would give this up and wait for a better day, but as we're soon moving away this is my last chance to gain the 10% of Munro's bagged.

Glas Tulaichean is my 5th Munro of the season and the 28th in total, bringing me to a Munro completion rate of near enough 10%. The mountain stands at 1051 meters (3448 feet) and is the last one I will do as I have now moved away from Scotland and back to my roots in South Yorkshire as the pull of the Grandchildren was just too strong.

As they catch the late afternoon light, the Wings seem to soar on the wind and blowing sand that cut through the Bisti Badlands of New Mexico.

Gorgeous new Belleza applier has me out of hiding. Plus - I needed a distraction.

You can find the applier at the main store & this fucking fantastic liner is over at Summerfest.

Save As Draft

...But all's been said and done

Will we ever really close this case?

Yeah, I will always be here for you, but I could no longer stay

Still my body goes in shock every time I hear your name

I struggle

I juggle

I could just throw a line to you

But I should let sleeping dogs lie 'cause I know better, baby

I write it

Erase it

Repeat it

But what good will it do

To reopen the wound

So I take a deep breath

And I save as draft

I've heard you've done some changing

I've been rearranging

Wish that I could know, but I just don't know

Never get that time back

Fear we'd fall in old traps

Why can't we just let go

Staring at a fork in the fucking road...

Just back from a few days visiting family in Birmingham, England. The whole of the city centre in Birmingham has been dug up in order for tram lines to be laid, so it was nice to escape from all the noise and chaos and take a walk along the canal. Image taken on my phone so a bit grainy!!

Matthew the Apostle, also known as Saint Matthew and possibly as Levi, was, according to the New Testament, one of the twelve apostles of Jesus. According to Christian traditions, he was also one of the four Evangelists as author of the Gospel of Matthew, and thus is also known as Matthew the Evangelist, a claim rejected by most biblical scholars, though the "traditional authorship still has its defenders."

As there was a decent weather forecast, I decided to take an early morning two hour drive to the Lake District. I spent a fruitless morning and early afternoon between Ashness Bridge and Derwent Water. I decided to call in at Blea Tarn on the way home to see if I could catch some last rays of sun on The Langdales.

This is a blend of nine images, using bracketing and focus stacking. Composition could be better, I should have got lower to reduce the gap between the foreground rocks and the background.

May I take this opportunity to wish all my Flickr friends a happy and healthy 2022 and of course some decent light!
