I drive by this river each morning. No matter the season, its beauty beckons me to stop and capture that day’s memory. You may recognize this river in one of my other images at a different time of the year.

As you drive through small towns, you might see a neglected, abandoned old home like this one. Maybe you wonder who once lived there and what became of them. How many children played in the yard and did they return to visit “the folks”? Is there a favorite dog buried under the tree? Then you get back on the highway and the old place is forgotten. Again.
Firecrest - Regulus ignicapilla
The common firecrest (Regulus ignicapilla) also known as the firecrest, is a very small passerine bird in the kinglet family. It breeds in most of temperate Europe and northwestern Africa, and is partially migratory, with birds from central Europe wintering to the south and west of their breeding range.
The head crest, orange in the male and yellow in the female, is displayed during breeding, and gives rise to the English and scientific names for the species. This bird superficially resembles the goldcrest, which largely shares its European range, but the firecrest's bronze shoulders and strong face pattern are distinctive.
The common firecrest breeds in lowland broadleaf forest, preferring cork oak and alder where available, otherwise beech and holly. It also uses mixed broadleaf and conifer woodland, and stands of spruce, European silver fir, cedar and pines, often with undergrowth of juniper, ivy and wild rose. In drier Mediterranean habitats it is found in conifers, evergreen oak, and mixed woodlands up to 2,800 m (9,200 ft). Unlike more specialised birds such as Eurasian nuthatch and common treecreeper, both of which forage on trunks, the crests do not need large woodlands, and their population density is independent of forest size. In winter it is less reliant on conifers than the goldcrest, moving from forest to fringes and scrub. It occurs singly or in pairs, spending much time in the tree canopy, although frequently venturing into bushes and other lower vegetation. This species can thrive in fairly urban areas, provided that suitable habitat is available in parks or large gardens; population densities in gardens can be comparable with the maximum levels found in natural habitats.

As the light of the setting sun turned the grass around the heathland pool golden, the toads continued to make their amorous calls - which I'm certain would have continued well into the night. Spawning only just under-way, they had much to occupy their time ... ;-)
As the weather turns warmer, the troop decided to do a seafood grill out on the water. Perhaps not surprising, I decided to tease Adi with my freshly caught lobsters. Andie, on the other hand, was well impressed by Pengu's wet slippery thing in his hands.
Pengy decided here to be the chef o'day - watching over the paella on the grill.

As the Vulture flew off folks so do the Hawk, but as I watched him go, all he did was feel safe enough to make a small circle and return to the same perch, just lucky I did not move and hung in there.

Minimalist photography
is a form of photography that is distinguished by extreme, austere simplicity. It emphasizes spareness and focuses solely on the smallest number of objects in the composition process. I love learning new stuff in photography, and some techniques requires allot of time to learn and understand..... witch I have a hard time to do . This is minimal as can be ( I think)

The site is located in the Old City of Jerusalem, which is also part of the contested area between Israel and Palestine. Its significance to both Jewish and Muslim communities has led to disputes and occasional clashes.
The Western Wall plaza is divided into two sections: one for men and the other for women, following Orthodox Jewish tradition. The prayers and rituals conducted here are a mix of individual devotion, communal worship, and celebrations during religious holidays.
In addition to its religious importance, the Western Wall draws millions of tourists and visitors from various backgrounds each year, offering them a glimpse into the rich history and cultural diversity of Jerusalem.
Despite the ongoing complexities surrounding the Western Wall and its geopolitical context, it remains an essential and cherished place for Jewish people, symbolizing resilience, faith, and the connection to their shared heritage.

As it used to look before it collapsed in March 2017, it was my favourite place in the world to take photos and I still miss it.

As Neowise started to head for the horizon at about midnight, The Big Dipper took over in the dark sky above. This was taken with the Pitstone Windmill in Buckinghamshire, England in the foreground. The mill is owned by The National Trust and dates back to the 17th century. This gem in the Chiltern countryside is the oldest dated windmill in Britain.
