Branding and production agency, Tranquil Water NY, Inc. (TWNY) in association with global arts network, Local Talent Connect (LTC) spearheaded 'IV: the Artist,' a merging of two great events: the celebration of TWNY’s 4th anniversary and Local Talent Connect’s “A Red Carpet Christmas” (a holiday event that aims to connect artists from all over the world).
The program featured a star-studded red carpet, and live performances.
It took place at Stage 48 in NYC on December 11, 2013.
Among the acts that appeared and performed were: Steph Lova & FUSE TV Producer June Archer as hosts, with performances by Grammy Nominated R&B Artist Mario Winans, R&B songstresses Allure, son of Big Pun Chris Rivers, jazz great Shareef Clayton with hip hop pioneer DJ Hollywood, Brand Nubian’s DJ Alamo, DJ Dyno of Voyager Movements and DJ Marvilous on the 1s and 2s. Additional performances by up and coming superstars 2Cann, Melissa B., Natalia Segura, Soliris, Jerra Blues Band, Kola, Mia LJ, dance troupe The MTA Mass Transit Artists, and fashion show by Toriola Inc. Red Carpet hosted by AmeliaisMore and On Deck With Lucy. Co-hosts include Dyesha Hicks, Christine Vega and Spencer Humphries.

This year, Osage Artist and Fashion Designer, Dante Biss-Grayson, is showcasing his work during the 100th year anniversary of the Santa Fe Indian Market at the La Fonda Hotel from his Sky-Eagle Collection in partnership with Sovereign Santa Fe Art Expo.
The show is entitled New Native Fashion: Empower by the Sky-Eagle Collection & Sovereign Santa Fe and will benefit The Coalition to Stop Violence Against Native Women. (CSVANW) nonprofit. www.csvanw.org

Native American Badass! Makeup Artist, Indigenous Eyecon @calijem on Instagram worked her magic on @aeroprey models!
About Dante Biss-Grayson and Sky-Eagle Collection
Artist, Designer, Poet, Writer, Activist
Being half Native American, of the Osage Nation, Dante uses the archetype as an image to guide his artistic process, getting into a trance-like state and letting the work find itself. He adheres to the Zen tradition of simple strokes converging with one idea, leaving on the canvas one decisive expression.
Dante Biss-Grayson’s art is an expression of his experiences as a combat veteran combined with the PTSD those experiences begot him. Having studied art before enlisting, he became reacquainted with painting as a means of confronting and expressing the loss, the absurdity, and the beauty of war. He writes that he “grew up as the apprentice/protégé and son of [artists] Earl Biss and Gina Gray,” surrounded by the radical art of the 1960s/70s-era Institute of American Indian Arts.

This year, Sovereign Santa Fe is designed as a more intimate yet immersive experience, fewer artists than in years past but larger scale work. Some participating artists will be showcasing their unique contemporary native creativity on larger platforms.
The first instrument I ever got was a Gibson RD Artst bass, back in high school. Ever since, I've wanted an RD Artist guitar to make a matched set. Last year, I finally got one. :-) It's actually in pretty good shape for being 30 years old...the hardware is showing some corrosion, but it all works and sounds terrific.
When I saw these miniature artist mannequins, I couldn't resist making one of them an artist with beret, scarf, and at work at an easel. Some art supplies by Stephen La Rocco

Theyyam (Malayalam: തെയ്യം) or Theyyattam or Thira is a popular Hindu ritual form of worship of North Malabar in Kerala state, India, predominant in the Kolathunadu area (consisting of present-day Kasargod, Kannur Districts, Mananthavady Taluk of Wayanad and Vadakara & Koyilandy Taluks of Kozhikode of Kerala state. As a living cult with several thousand-year-old traditions, rituals and customs, it embraces almost all the castes and classes of the Hindu religion in this region. The performers of Theyyam belong to the indigenous tribal community, and have an important position in Theyyam. This is unique, since only in Kerala, do both the upper-caste Brahmins and lower-caste tribals share an important position in a major form of worship. The term Theyyam is a corrupt form of Devam or God. People of these districts consider Theyyam itself as a God and they seek blessings from this Theyyam. A similar custom is followed in the Tulu Nadu region of neighbouring Karnataka known as Bhuta Kola
Amaya Skye Hampton is 3 years younger than her sister, Sapphire. Her friends call her Amaya. After getting kicked out of the best boarding schools in Europe, her father sent her to a small school in Virginia where he could keep an eye on her. She followed her sister to Howard U so they could spend more time together. They have become very close (although they still have very different personalities) and are nearly inseparable.
Amaya is a talented artist, earning a BFA from university. She likes to work in acrylics and pastels. Her graphic arts line, studio7 includes all sorts of office supplies and personal items with her retro, modern designs on them.
On my trip to Japan I visited the Nagoya Castle. On my way out I noticed this gentleman capturing the same image I had been doing earlier. I have to say, I'm a little jealous of his method.
