These apples are on a tree in the corner of my front yard. Generally, apples don't grow here in Irvine (not cold enough winters), but there are a few hybrids that don't need cold winter temperatures, such as this Fuji. Small apple tree almost strangled by mistletoe does its best to make beautiful blossoms ... not only humanity is facing challenges ...
Small apples remaining in the plantation for the winter.
Ornamental apples of which the blossoms served to pollinate the blossoms of the big apples.
The new crop of apples is being picked at Biersdorfer's Orchard in Guilford, Indiana. Famous for it's apples, apple cider, pear cider and ducks...there is a pond with ducks and you buy corn from the store and feed the ducks...our granddaughter loved it. At three it was pretty exciting.
A Simple Pleasure of mine. Slices of apple and pear, a dash of lemon juice and plenty of honey, eaten with a slice of wholemeal bread. A pleasure learned when young, as we grew fruit trees, and stored the fruit over winter too.
It used to be a favourite supper of mine (still is)

Stu was my model for this one. He was enjoying the fragrance from my Homemade Apple Cake! This one is flour-free...the cake, not his nose :) I used my new Meike 85 mm Portrait Lens and I have to say I'm quite please with the results.
Apple trees are cultivated worldwide. The tree originated in Central Asia. Apple tree blossoms vary in color. Their brilliant colors include white, pink and yellow.
We have two apple trees in our garden, and this one is now about 25 years old. It was bought as a "ballerina" tree in a pot, but when it grew too tall Judy planted it in the garden. It seems to like where it is because it provides a wonderful crop of apples. For a few weeks in the autumn we have freshly squeezed apple juice most days with our breakfast.

Windfall apples and conkers which had fallen from the tree which my nephews planted when they were little.
It's that time of the year again. Apple harvest time. There are so many and so many varieties. Picked a little bit of each and ate a little of each. The smell and taste of ripe sun warmed apples is unbeatable

An incredible apple season in Sweden. Our tree has delivered several hundred kilos of delicious Maglemer apples for jam, juice and pies.
