Natural light from a south facing window taken with a 'nifty fifty' lens. Only slight post processing to compensate for shooting in RAW.
This was shot last weekend at the Don Baker Farm in Germantown NY. You know Autumn is here when it's apple picking time. When I was at the farm, I was chatting with this gal about all kinds of things regarding the farm and small businesses. She told me that a apple in a supermarket on the average was picked off the tree about 13 months before it makes it to the store shelf. So just one more reason I like to buy direct from the farmers if I can help it. It doesn't get much fresher then picking it and eating it.
If you have not yet, and you like to hike and or photograph in the Adirondacks you should check out my Buddies Adam Baker photography and Chris Tennant Photography ebook about photographing the Adirondacks. You can find it here: www.adkbook.com/
I love food. All food. There is not much I won't eat and nothing I won't try. I love how food is the perfect excuse to bring people together and share moments with friends and family old and new.
Apple on the left is embroidery. If any of my tea buddies would like to have this the first one that says it get it.

the weather outside is frightful, the fire is so delightful.... snowy sleety weather was awful so a few apples became a still life subject, quite enjoyed myself!
Could it be there's a submarine inside the apple? Or a snake? Or maybe it's the last hoof of a gazelle disappearing into the flesh-eating apple?
