Experimenting painting with light. Set up in a dark room and in manual mode set to 4 second exposure, several shots were taken whilst the apples were painted with a led torch from various angles. The images were then stacked and selected parts masked.

It looks as if you need a chainsaw to cut it! Fortunately, a knife worked fine :-)

3 different looks - I bought a whole box of apples today, so I should be able to keep the doctor away for next 13 days. I decided to play around a bit and got 3 shots I liked, each one different.

Apple provides a square clip on the iPod shuffle, for use on clothing especially.

I love my iPad. But I didn't plan to buy one at first. It's a pretty expensive gadget.

What can I say? It's Apple! It's hard to resist.

I wonder what they use to give it this amazing shine?

Tom's Apple - An apple fresh from Tom's tree, Abiquiu, New Mexico. A fresh apple, straight off the tree and just 40 feet further into the house! From my friends Tom and Cindy, rural New Mexico. My grandfather started an apple orchard in his early 70's and friends laughed for an "old man" to do this, saying "You'll never live long enough to eat apples from those trees". Well let me tell you, all the grandchildren long remember the many years of apples, applesauce and pies made from at lest 6 varieties of apples, several heirloom. This apple may be a "jonadel", a type of Jonathan crossed with yellow delicious. It's the apple used by Tom to make the dried apple slices seen in other photos.

This was shot last weekend at the Don Baker Farm in Germantown NY. You know Autumn is here when it's apple picking time. When I was at the farm, I was chatting with this gal about all kinds of things regarding the farm and small businesses. She told me that a apple in a supermarket on the average was picked off the tree about 13 months before it makes it to the store shelf. So just one more reason I like to buy direct from the farmers if I can help it. It doesn't get much fresher then picking it and eating it.

I love food. All food. There is not much I won't eat and nothing I won't try. I love how food is the perfect excuse to bring people together and share moments with friends and family old and new.
