As I started this site three years ago, I had no idea how much time I would spend here around!.. ;-) thank you for being so much inspiration and support for my pictures, thank you for all your visits during the last three years :)
One of my favourite hunting grounds when in a rush to take pictures, as I was this afternoon. The wind was bitter cold and stinging across the face so it is nice not to be far from home and a hot chocolate (that might have been laced with a generous splash of Baileys).
3rd Magistralnaya Street at night. Moscow International Business Center (MIBC) Moscow-City and high-rise buildings at Shelepikha in the background. Shot from tripod, standard picture control, polarizer attached to reduce brightness of the sky. Perspective adjusted later on PC.
This is another scene from Buttermere, taken earlier this year. I did mean to post earlier but forgot all about it and the two preceeding shots.
The day was fine and sunny, with that hazy sunshine often seen in these northern parts. It was incredibly beautiful and quiet; just my kind of place.

Perhaps in anticipation of tomorrow, the glorious day that we celebrate our country’s birth, the sun painted the sky over Saint Paul with the most festive colors of its palette.
Sebastian Stan should have won best actor for The Apprentice, all you fucking cowards at The Academy. He nailed his performance of the young Trump so well that I had to watch the whole damn movie through my fingers.
(Yeah I originally had a different blurb for this but I have The Oscars on in the background and just got super mad.)

Back to school pictures are in order today. The remaining summer fun will now have to be experienced in the evenings and weekends. I was brave saying goodbye to my 3rd grader this morning, we met her teacher last night and I am expecting a great year! I'm looking forward to volunteering and getting involved.

I was ready to crush this photo. Killer sunset? Yep! Bad ass 36-megapixel camera? Check. Top of the line wide-angle lens? Check. Carbon Fiber tripod? You betcha. 50 cent Allen wrench to connect bad ass camera to tripod? F!!! Luckily my friend Josh was planning to shoot with me, but per-occupied with his 3-year old, and offered to loan me his tripod - thanks Josh!
It's hard to lose on nights like this when you have high clouds above the setting sun, the whole sky looked like cotton candy - I just wanted to eat it. The Carlyle, the 3rd Ave Bridge, the Mississippi, and a killer sky. All I needed was a good beer - ok, had that too.
Edited with Lumenzia.
Using my Nikon d3500, I took the 3rd consecutive 100 images of this lightning storm (~25x8s used) to see if I could develop the best stacking from the best lightning discharges. The final image turned out so-so. As conditions darkened after sunset, light scattered onto clouds by lightning becomes very problematic. There are techniques to improve on this stacking but it requires considerable post-processing to achieve.
Note limited cloud to ground strikes. Two sets of crawlers at top left criss-crossed each other within 3 minutes.
Storm was 14 to 25 miles distant.
Traffic Trails up 3rd.

My first trip abroad, in the Dolomites, in north Italy, in September 2016, It was moonlit and mostly cloudy. And those six cold nights it was difficult to photograph the beautiful landscapes with our galaxy and its constellations. However, one of those nights, I made a little effort in one of these landscapes, since the sky seemed to be a little clear before the moonrise. So in Misurina lake, even with light pollution and if I remember correctly, at moonrise, I attempted to take a astrophotography and somehow, I vindicated by the result you see in the photo. The galaxy appeared a little over the peaks (whose name I still could not find) :/ and for my good luck, its reflection on the lake, made the image a little more interesting!
I hope you like it!

Blea Tarn and the Langdale Pikes, Lake District
If someone was to ask me to name my top three viewpoints in the Lake District, blea tarn and the Langdale Pikes in the distance would be fighting for the top spot such is its beauty. The craggy nature of the Langdales bowls me over every time.
This shot was taken last week while leading a four-day workshop in the Lake District. It is made up of four vertical images that have been stitched together in Photoshop CC. I shoot with a 50mp Canon 5Ds so you can imagine just how big the overall file size is (619 MB 11319 x 9569 pixels). My PC struggled to edit it in a timely manner but it was well worth the wait and the patience needed to create the image.
I hope you all like it and please share it if you wish (as this helps keep my page visible to you all).
