Messier 39 is an open cluster in the constellation of Cygnus and lies at a distance of approx. 800 light years.

The Model 39 was the first mass - produced 9mm auto made in the U.S.. The first production run in 1954 was dubbed the "jam-a-matic" but the reliability problems were resolved fairly quickly. The early models had an all steel frame and are quite collectible now. This one was made in the mid-1970's and has an alloy frame and adjustable rear sight. The 39 has a double action trigger and its single-stack magazine holds eight rounds.

Today is January 12, 2011 and I was *supposed* to have a baby today! My midwife had to cancel my induction due to a scheduling problem, so now if this baby doesn't decide to come on her own, I have to wait one more week. It might sound like just a few days to the rest of you, but it's a long time from my point of view!

I am off in 7 hours.

Sooo we thought that the spring was coming, but it wasn't. It was more snow. This photo is taken from my doorstep

A morning walk around the harbour while the sun is out, the weather was forecast to deteriorate during the day, although it looks as though its the south and west that will bear the brunt of this weekend's gale.
