Got up this morning around 9 ish, looked out my window, and saw this!! So I rushed upstairs, grabbed my camera, searched for my coat and shoes, and went to take some pictures. When I first got out there, I only had my Canon EOS 350D (XT), with the 18-55mm lens on it. By then the fog or smoke or whatever it was was dissipating. So I ran BACK inside, and got my 75-300mm telephoto lens... So this was pretty much all the was left when I finally snapped some half decent shots.

Wild describes my life right now! I've been gone for a few weeks...starting school, teaching a new grade, unpacking a house...it's a little more overwhelming than I thought. So, today my hubs took us for a drive to help us all unwind. I love driving in the mountains in Wyoming and it was just the ticket to help me relax. Now, on to another exciting week!
Squinting at PSP waiting for my flight back to overcast Seattle. That big yellow thing in the sky is harsh, dude!
Day 39 of 365
"Paper Freeway"
Strobist: 580 ex at 90 degrees to camera right (facing same direction as the car, set at 1/16th. Triggered by El Skyports LED torch to the left
After all of the work I put into yesterday's shot, I didn't have much energy for day 39. This is the result. It's simple, but I like how the lighting came out - especially after I post processed to sepia.
Details: f/9 @ 28mm for 1/200sec, ISO 400, flash fired into ceiling at 45 degrees, 1/4 power.
Lightroom: Sepia adjustment, crop to square.
