Took this photo on the famous San Francisco's PIER 39
From the pier one can see Angel Island, Alcatraz, the Golden Gate Bridge, and the Bay Bridge. Blue & Gold Fleet's bay cruises leave from Pier 39.
Pier 39 was first developed by entrepreneur Warren Simmons and opened October 4, 1978.

I remember years ago
Someone told me I should take
Caution when it comes to love
I did, I did
And you were strong and I was not
My illusion, my mistake
I was careless, I forgot
I did

Pier 39 is a shopping center and popular tourist attraction built on a pier in San Francisco, California. At Pier 39, there are shops, restaurants, a video arcade, street performances, an interpretive center for the Marine Mammal Center, the Aquarium of the Bay, virtual 3D rides, and views of California sea lions hauled out on docks on Pier 39's marina. The marina is also home to the floating Forbes Island restaurant. A two-story carousel is one of the pier's more dominant features, although it is not directly visible from the street and sits towards the end of the pier. The family-oriented entertainment and presence of marine mammals make this a popular tourist location for families with kids.
The pier is located at the edge of the Fisherman's Wharf district and is close to North Beach, Chinatown, and the Embarcadero. The area is easily accessible via the historic F Market streetcars.

Over five years ago I hoped for this shot. I was so impressed by a Boy Scout Eagle Project at the time, that I had to make one myself. The scout's project was a natural solution to a rodent infestation in a neighboring community. Dozens of owl boxes were constructed and with a little help, a balance of nature was restored.
Finally after five years we have two barred owls who are calling our box their home. Especially after mowing, they forage around the yard almost unconcerned with clickity click of our camera. :)
The midwest's mountains are simply bluffs scattered throughout that overlook lakes and rolling hills. We didn't expect quite so much rain, but each of us stood in the open as it poured down for hours. Our soaking wet clothes, muddy ankles, and curly hair didn't change anything.
The mountains here are what I have, and I run to them when I can.
During our 5-day stay in the beautiful city of Lisbon we escaped one day to the central part of Portugal to visit friends who have a guest house. Dornes is a small village with 22 inhabitants and located on a peninsula of the river Zezêre. We have had a beautiful day!
Casa Wladival
Relax and feel the nature around you!
Dornes is a place where you can travel back in time, discovering local legends of magic and mystery.
In our terraced garden, you can relax in the shade of the several trees and the green lawn: both offer a great opportunity for reading a book or just taking a siesta. You can also enjoy one of Valdemar's caipirinhas or Wladimir's massages.
Casa wladival has direct access to the natural swimming pool of the lagoon of castelo do bode (zêzere river).

Can't remember where this was taken.
Maybe I should create a collection of simple bokeh shots like this, record where/when they were taken, and put them up on my dorm room wall.
Reminisce [39/365] - I've been told that I'm too sentimental. I keep everything. I have boxes upon boxes of old photos from my disposable camera days. I could honestly spend hours just looking through them. It's fun to reflect on old memories, friendships, and see how much life has changed. Tonight was one of those nights.. I got out a box of photos from my college days and looked through them, laughing at the crazy adventures we had. Why do I take photos? For the memories. In the end, all you are left with are the memories you've made through your life, and a box of photos means more to me than any amount of money. Sounds like a Mastercard commercial, I know.
