Definitely one of the more comical and fun shots I've taken yet. Set the camera's self-timer to 2 seconds, then try to get as far away as possible. The results can be hilarious. I'll be doing more of these for sure.
Day 146 of 365.
Tonight was Quincy's 8th grade Culture Fair.
His exhibit was titled "A Touch of Heart" which is the transliteration for dim sum (點心). He wrote about other Chinese foods like zhong-zi, customs like hung bao (red envelopes), and the different places that his grandparents have lived in China and the United States.
He made won tons for extra credit.
I was amazed at how diverse and interesting the students in his 8th grade are. Berkeley really is a melting pot.

First bobbin of yarn spun on the new wheel. You can also see some of the beautiful wood grain as well as the detail of the cutouts (all done by hand, I might add).
Oh, and for those wondering, the stunning fiber is Southern Cross Fibre 80/20 Falkland/Silk in colorway Nevermore (August 2013 club). I'm spinning up the second bobbin right now.
Madelyn made a new friend at her first day of gymnastics class. She is so pumped to be in this class. It is awesome.
When my parents' pond freezes over, I know that winter has begun in earnest. There may still be one or two warm days coming, but for the most part this is the changing of the seasons.
Today in Traverse City, MI I caught on my phone 52* which I bet is a record high for the area.
