170107 awaits departure from Platform 3 at Derby with the 08:05 service to Birmingham New Street, 2nd May 2008. Derby station is currently being rebuilt (as can be seen in the background) with new platform canopies and the current “shored up” 1950’s canopies will soon be a thing of the past changing for ever the familiar background to countless photographs taken at Derby.
Unit History
Built by Bombardier 170107 was operated initially by Midland Main Line on stopping services between London St Pancras and the East Midlands. In 2004, Midland Main Line introduced new class 222 Meridian units, which displaced the class 170 Turbostars to Central Trains. 170107 is now operated by Arriva Cross Country but still basically carries its Midland Main Line green and tangerine livery from 1998 with Cross Country branding.
This mornings sunrise, my dear wife woke me this morning and let me know it looked like a nice sunrise was on the way, but I only had about 10 minutes to get ready. So I rushed out and parked at the train crossing on 2nd St.
This picture was processed in Lightroom Mobile using the Classic Chrome profile. I tried to mimic the settings I am using in the X100V as much as possible.

The view down Franklin Street at dusk Friday evening (2-27-2014) as the streetlights take over for the departing sunlight. The warm end of the week (hovering around 60 during the day) was a tease, for tonight everything is white with sleet which may or may not turn to snow (an additional inch predicted) before morning.

I entered two prints into the Llantrisant Community Horticultural & Craft Show - (photographic section) - on Sunday 12th August, held at the Llantrisant Rugby Club.
Depite the fact that there wasn't many entries, I won not only 1st prize, but 2nd as well. I hadn't long handed back the large trophy from my previous year's win !
Chuffed as heck !

I haven't been into Divach Woods since the turn of the year, I know... I can see it over the field from my window... but the weather has been miserable or I have been busy... or I have just been way too lazy/wrapped up in my own darkness to think about it. Anyway, the weather, it would seem, really has taken it's toll. Many of the trees are down, there are multiple small landlips and the whole place is looking very sorry for itself.
The path is in a pretty poor state too, hopefully with the road closure and car park currently closed as a result, we won't have too many visitors falling down the ravine over the next few months whilst everything firms back up again!
I guess nature will take it's course and come back, but it is rather a shame that such an important and ancient woodland is currently in tatters.
I tried again, not using so much yellow and got a cooler temperature in the painting, but still not what I was hoping for.
Siemens Desiro 350103 departures from platform 11 at Crewe with the 14.21 Birmingham to Liverpool service, 2nd June 2008. Originally delivered in a plain light grey unbranded livery the class 350 units are now appearing the very attractive London Midland livery.
I lost by red-lighting in the final race (dammit!), but survived 5 rounds of eliminations to get there. Most importantly, it was an incredibly thrilling and fun day and my car was running better than ever before - Pontiac Heaven XVI, Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park, Chandler, Arizona
