It wasn't the most spectacular ocean sunset I've seen, but beautiful nonetheless.

We reached the Waipohatu Falls after an hour’s walk through temperate rainforest. There are actually two quite different waterfalls within five minutes of each other, both simply known as Waipohatu Falls after the river. Few people visit this place, and the trail is often muddy, with tree fern stems laid across the path to help you over the worst sections. To get a clearer view of the falls, I crossed the stream and climbed over some boulders. Using the “Live ND Shooting” mode on my camera, I captured a handheld panorama from three vertical shots — something that would have been much more difficult with a tripod in that spot.

She is my love and my passion.

My joy and my happiness.

My princess and my queen.

My love and my desire.

My partner and my soulmate.

My now and my forever.

The past few years have been amazing, and I wouldn’t change a single moment. I’m beyond blessed to have Claudia in my life. I’m the luckiest man alive—she chose me, and I get to call her my wife.

Happy 2nd Wedding Anniversary ❤️

Legend has it that Amaterasu, goddess of the sun, was married to Tsukuyomi, the god of the moon. Until the intrigues of Susanoo, God of the sea separated them, thus creating day and night.

In the midst of the suffering Amaterasu was immersed in a cave for a long time.

A good day tired of crying, decided to fight for his love... Since then she shines with greater strength in the sky, waiting for each sunrise and each sunset, to receive a fleeting caress of his beloved.

This is the 2nd Northern saw-whet owl I've ever seen.

Here's a rare case where someone reported a Northern saw-whet owl in E-Bird without the "H.O." descriptor (Heard Only). In fact, there were multiple reports, some with good descriptions where to find it. So, being within 100 miles of the location, I drove out to find it...

Bridgeport State Park (WA):

It was about 10-feet up, tucked deep into a smallish pine tree right along a road next to the campground (as reported by helpful E-Bird contributors).

Bridgeport State Park doesn't draw big crowds on cold, Winter weekdays. I was the only person in the park (other than a ranger driving around). This meant I could drag the tripod out and take my time quietly setting up without getting in anyone else's way. I didn't want to bother the owl for too long, so I took a few shots from a few different angles, and left it alone pretty quickly.

Though, like the last saw-whet owl I saw, it didn't seem scared or annoyed. Its eyes opened occasionally to see what I was doing, then closed them again.

Final note: These owls are hilariously small. So small that it was hard to see it -- even after I knew where it was.

NS 320 steps by 2nd Avenue in Birmingham, Alabama on November 10, 2018.

This has been a shot that I've wanted to try for a long time but either just never got around to it or I didn't have the right equipment with me. Now I can successfully check it off my to-shoot list at Disney. This area of DCA is one of my favorite areas because of the detail there is everywhere, if you can tune out the screaming riders getting drenched on the rapids it's fantastic!

As for the shot this is a 3 shot HDR merged with Photomatix, then some Nik software, and a bit of CS5. I was walking by and saw this perfect scene so I couldn't resist shooting it, however I didn't have my tripod so I made a makeshift stabilizer by folding my camera strap up and putting the camera on the rocks.

As always comments and constructive criticism are welcome and appreciated! :)
