Oh man, I have been SO busy the past six weeks. Half the team I work in walked out en masse and so I've been pulling crazy hours with no time or pain tolerance left for SL at the end of each day. Things are looking up now though because there's new vict - I mean, staff and I can go back to being the dilettante vampire you all know and love.
This was taken with the inworld black and white filter available on the napshot window, no extra editing in post. Hair is by No Match, body jewellery Voluptas, pants are by Hotdog.

BNSF 6907 heads east through Jens past Montana's 2nd most photographed barn, unfortunately I did not see the 1st this trip.
UP 6130, a patched SP AC44, leads CP 475 through downtown Bellevue on street-running trackage. The 2nd Street Station restaurant makes for a nice focal point.

Just over 11 weeks from my first C-19 vaccination, I received my second dose last night at the mass vaccination centre in Bournemouth.
A very fresh, Australian made, GWU012 leads GWU011 on VP946 loaded One Rail coal bound for Vales Point Power Station under the main lines at the Hanbury Flyover between Waratah and Warabrook. Thursday, 2nd December 2021.

Southern 377137 has just arrived at Brighton working 1N13, 08:28 Southampton – Brighton, 2nd March 2023.
Unit History
377137 is one of a batch of sixty four, four car Electrostars (sub class 377/1) built by Bombardier at Derby in 2002/03 and almost unbelievably are now twenty years old!!!

This is the 2nd Northern saw-whet owl I've ever seen.
Here's a rare case where someone reported a Northern saw-whet owl in E-Bird without the "H.O." descriptor (Heard Only). In fact, there were multiple reports, some with good descriptions where to find it. So, being within 100 miles of the location, I drove out to find it...
Bridgeport State Park (WA):
It was about 10-feet up, tucked deep into a smallish pine tree right along a road next to the campground (as reported by helpful E-Bird contributors).
Bridgeport State Park doesn't draw big crowds on cold, Winter weekdays. I was the only person in the park (other than a ranger driving around). This meant I could drag the tripod out and take my time quietly setting up without getting in anyone else's way. I didn't want to bother the owl for too long, so I took a few shots from a few different angles, and left it alone pretty quickly.
Though, like the last saw-whet owl I saw, it didn't seem scared or annoyed. Its eyes opened occasionally to see what I was doing, then closed them again.
Final note: These owls are hilariously small. So small that it was hard to see it -- even after I knew where it was.
Butterley GF signal box at the Midland Railway Centre is seen here on the 2nd August 2018. The former Ais Gill signal box, it was originally built in 1900 and is a Midland Railway type 2b structure. The box and the 16 lever Midland Railway tumbler frame. was moved from Ais Gill in the autumn of 1982 and rebuilt on the site of the former Butterley box, being brought back into use for the weekend of 8/9th September 1984. In front of the box is a Midland Railway style wooden post lower quadrant home semaphore signal.

i've always loved this school picture, because I actually had a broken arm -- I wanted my picture taken with the sling around my neck, but the photographer insisted not!
I have stuck in many people's memory from that year in school, because I actually broke BOTH arms, sequentially (not at the same time) -- first one I fell down on the school playground at a parent-teacher conference night -- skinned my knee & didn't even notice my arm, til the next morning when mom decided I was holding my arm strangely and asked if I could rotate my wrist -- I looked blankly at her and said, "no, why?" so I'd fractured my right wrist -- spent six weeks in a sling, and then the day after I got it off, I fell down rollerskating and broke my left arm.
