I've been wanting to play around with dark but high detailed portraits for a while. I finally got the chance to start with them when Caleb came over earlier this week. This was done using a clamshell type setup with a 580EX II in a 3' Octobox overhead and a 430EX II in a 22" beauty dish below, triggered by Pocket Wizards. Processing done with Photoshop CS3 and Photomatix Pro.

Saw this fellow with his girlfriend up near the base of the gondola station at Queenstown. He was amused to see all my camera gear and I took his photo. His GF was less comfortable about being photographed.
