In de week van 21 februari 2022 voert BAM Rail in de nachtelijke uren weer slijpritten uit op een aantal baanvakken in Noord Nederland. Deze ritten worden regelmatig uitgevoerd zodat het profiel van de spoorstaven na slijtage weer in de juiste vorm wordt gebracht. BAM Rail gebruikt hiervoor de slijptrein van het Zwitserse bedrijf Speno.
In de nacht van 22 op 23 februari was het baanvak Uithuizermeeden-Warffum aan de beurt. Na gedane arbeid moet de trein terug naar de uitvalsbasis in Leeuwarden. Omdat het baanvak Groningen-Leeuwarden 's ochtend al vrij snel vol is, wordt dan vaak via Meppel gereden. Sinds het ongeluk in Stavoren in juli 2010 mag de slijptrein niet meer op eigen kracht over het Nederlandse spoorwegnet rijden en wordt tractie bij RRF ingehuurd.
Omdat het de afgelopen maanden bijna steevast enorm slecht weer was en de motivatie mede daardoor ook ver te zoeken was, werd er lange tijd niets ondernomen voor de hobby. Toen het op woensdag 23 februari eindelijk weer eens echt mooi zonnig weer was, werd de camera maar weer eens gepakt om de overbrenging bij Leeuwarden vast te leggen. Hier passeert de RRF 21 met de grote Speno-trein de brug over het van Harinxmakanaal.
