A common duck for St. John's in the Winter. I thought that this photo opportunity in Spring lighting was a good chance to capture the purple iridescence.

Central Districts Field Day, Fielding, New Zealand. The largest regional agricultural event in New Zealand with over 570 exhibitors. This is the biggest day out for farming families and rural folk who flood in from rural settings. The event was cancelled in 2020 due to COVID-19 and was only able to be run 2021 after all of New Zealand recently returned to Level 1 that allows for public events under certain guidelines.
Campanule sauvage
Campanule, c'est une plante aux fleurs en forme de clochettes. Sa culture est facile. C'est une plante qui pousse à l'état sauvage spontanément dans les forêts de France. Mais, on la cultive également pour ses élégantes hampes florales garnies de jolies clochettes.
You gota love them , they just sit around and become pets, but just when they become part of the family they disappear .

West Pond, Parsonsfield, Maine.
We had thick cloud cover and rain showers off and on all day with only a few breaks in the clouds that allowed a bit of sunlight to get through.
I didn't not bother to go out near sunset as the cloud cover was still thick and dark.
Just after sunset the clouds lit up briefly and I got this shot of it from our driveway.

Traveling tomorrow—covid willing and the airline flies—so I’m posting the end-of-year look back today. I have mixed feelings—the year and the photo fell short of aspirations, held unpleasant surprises, still offered some interest and comfort. Metastatic cancer diagnosed this year is incurable, but so far has offered no physical discomfort at all. Expecting a few years yet of active enjoyment.
