Final image in this weeks series Made me Happy. I can never resist photographing quirky craft items this one made me feel happy and I had to laugh.
A group of maple trees caught my eye in the late afternoon sun. The patterns, tones, and edges create a warm attractive glow that seem far too beautiful to be real.
La carrasca (encina) milenaria de Lecina ha sido elegida Árbol Europeo del Año 2021. Y por lo descrito en prensa con récord de votos… Las fotos corresponden a algunas de mis visitas realizadas a la pequeña y encantadora población altoaragonesa donde a través de los siglos han conservado este tesoro de la naturaleza. Merece la pena visitar el precioso lugar y por supuesto disfrutar de tan monumental y milenario ejemplar arbóreo.

Lecina millennial holm oak - European Tree of the Year 2021
The millenary holm oak of Lecina has been chosen European Tree of the Year 2021. And for what has been described in the press with a record of votes… The photos correspond to some of my visits to the small and charming town of High Aragonese where over the centuries they have preserved this treasure of nature. It is worth visiting the beautiful place and of course enjoying such a monumental and ancient arboreal specimen.

Le chêne vert millénaire de Lecina a été choisi Arbre européen de l'année 2021. Et pour ce qui a été décrit dans la presse avec un record de votes… Les photos correspondent à certaines de mes visites dans la petite et charmante ville d'haut aragonais où plus au cours des siècles, ils ont conservé ce trésor de la nature. Cela vaut la peine de visiter le bel endroit et bien sûr de profiter d'un spécimen arboricole aussi monumental et ancien.

Malgré le report d'une année de la mise en service de la relation Trans Golden Pass entre Montreux et Interlaken Ost avec des voitures à écartement variable, les locomotives GDe 4/4 6001-6006 n'assurent plus de tours de service réguliers entre Montreux et Zweisimmen depuis le 13 décembre 2020.
L'absence de leur équipement pour la signalisation ZSI leur nécessite deux personnes en cabine sur le parcours.
Arrivée en provenance de Lenk d'un convoi de réserve composé des GDe 4/4 6006 et 6005 encadrant trois voitures panoramiques, dont la BDs 224 surclassée en première classe.
La ligne Zweisimmen - Lenk nécessite de disposer de matériel autre que les rames 5000 qui n'ont plus le droit d'y circuler les jours de vent tempétueux, depuis que la Bt 244 fut renversée par une rafale.

We already had a very successful morning photographing 232 850, the afternoon we wanted to spent to catch some freight traffic on the Czerwieńsk - Guben line. This was the only train, we saw there this day.

Op zondag 15 augustus 2021 gingen we naar het jaarlijkse Bocq festival te Spontin (L128).

RTB Cargo was een van de gast bedrijven naast NMBS en Infrabel.
We zien RTB class 66 PB17 in de zomerse ochtendzon staan wachten op vertrek richting Braibant, naast de Class 66 staat de HLD5922 die jarenlang op de Venbahn heeft gereden en nu geniet van haar oude dag bij TSP.

Le TGV Sud-Est n°16, rame historique du record du monde de vitesse de février 1981 (380 km/h), s'en va de Villeneuve St Georges à Lyon pour une exposition interne à la SNCF au Technicentre de Gerland. Il est vu au passage dans la forêt de Fontainebleau, à Thomery, à 06h14 du matin.
At 06:14 am, the preserved historic Sud-Est TGV #16 crosses the Fontainebleau forrest near Thomery. This TGV is famous because on February 26 1981 it broke the world speed record on rails at 380 km/h on the not-yet opened new South-East high speed line (Paris-Lyon), near the city of Tonnerre. The previous record dated back from March 1955 when two electric engines, the CC-7107 and the BB-9004 successively reached 331 km/h on the "Landes" line south of Bordeaux.

Ook dit jaar stond de Najaarsstoomdag van de MBS weer op ons lijstje. Samen met mijn oudste zoon er vroeg op uit om op te zijn voor een geslaagde dag. Het weer wisselde een beetje tussen bewolkt en zonnig. Dit jaar reed naast de eigen locs 2 (Cockeril), 6 (Magda), 8107 (Kikker) en 7853 (Navizence) ook de SHM 16 enkele slagen tussen Haaksbergen en Boekelo.
The Autumn Steam Day of the MBS was on our wish list this year again. Together with my eldest son, I was up early for a successful day out. The weather varied a bit between cloudy and sunny. This year, in addition to its own locomotives 2 (Cockeril), 6 (Magda), 8107 (Kikker) and 7853 (Navizence), the SHM 16 also made a few rides between Haaksbergen and Boekelo.
Der Herbstdampftag der MBS stand auch dieses Jahr wieder auf unserer Liste. Zusammen mit meinem ältesten Sohn war ich für einen erfolgreichen Tag früh auf den Beinen. Das Wetter schwankte ein wenig zwischen bewölkt und sonnig. In diesem Jahr fuhr die SHM 16 neben den eigenen Lokomotiven 2 (Cockeril), 6 (Magda), 8107 (Kikker) und 7853 (Navizence) auch einige Fahrten zwischen Haaksbergen und Boekelo.

This is the closest Great Egret nest site in our backyard wildlife sanctuary – approximately 250’ away. There hasn't been a nest here is a couple of years due to low water, but the afternoon before last I saw a male displaying on a branch, and the next morning he had already attracted a mate. He repeatedly brought branches from across the pond, and with sometimes questionable hand-offs she skillfully wove the sticks into their growing nest.

Chester Cathedral is a Church of England cathedral and the mother church of the Diocese of Chester. The cathedral, formerly the abbey church of the Benedictine Abbey of St Werburgh is dedicated to Christ and the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Since 1541, it has been the seat of the Bishop of Chester.
The cathedral is a Grade I listed building, and part of a heritage site that also includes the former monastic buildings to the north, which are also listed Grade I. The cathedral's construction dates from between 1093 and the early 16th century, with modifications throughout its history, a typical characteristic of English cathedrals; however, the site itself may have been used for Christian worship since Roman times. All the major styles of English medieval architecture, from Norman to Perpendicular, are represented in the present building.
The cathedral and former monastic buildings were restored during the 19th century (amidst some controversy), and a free-standing bell tower was added in the 20th century. In addition to holding regular services for worship the buildings are a major tourist attraction and a concert and exhibition venue.
