December 2020 Art Challenge " Pomeranian" # 2012

No. 6046 was built as works no.70280 by the Baldwin Locomotive Company in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA, and the locomotive was exported straight to France in 1945 to help with the war effort .Restoration restarted at Churnet in 2006. On 29th June 2012, 6046 was steamed and moved under own power for the first ever time on UK metals.

I was under this tent teaching my daughter how to make a cracker bread with cheese. It's simple:- two slices of white bread, some crackers and a slice of cheese. haha.

At the same time, doing what I like....

Jesus Christ, our Messiah, gave His life on the cross on this very day 2012 years ago. He did this to save us from SIN. The least that we can do during this Easter is go to Church and pray to our Heavenly Father.

Bottlenose dolphins breaching in the Moray firth. Picture taken from the shore at Chanonry point, Black-isle, Scotland.

Another early morning shot of a Ferrari in the Goodwood Paddock, this time of 246 Dino owned and raced by Tony Smith (manager of Genesis, Phil Collins, Mike Rutherford and Tony Banks, and co-manager of Pink Floyd).

This particular car (chassis 0007) was owned by Neil Corner who bought the car back in 1978 but suffered a horrendous crash at Goodwood in 2000 when he was thrown from the car after a collision on the start/finish straight. There is a photo and video clip of the accident (link here) for those curious to witness what can only be described as an accurate portrayal of a period crash - one that luckily Neil managed to bounce back from (after a two week stay in hospital). The car was rebuily and sold on to Tony Smith.

Then car itself is one of only two original 1960 Ferrari 246 Dino's to exist (the cars from 1957 to 1959 are believed to no longer survive). Chassis 0007 was driven by Phil Hill in the 1960 Italian GP, winning the race. The car was subsequently renumbered as chassis 'F 0788' and reworked in New Zealand into a 'GTO' before being retrieved by Neil Corner in 1978 and then restored by Crosthwaite & Gardiner with its original body panels.

Previous shot of this same car can be seen here at the 2015 Goodwood Revival.

For my last three 365 projects, I've done an alphabet project every February and for each one I've done Quidditch for the letter Q. It's really just the best excuse to do a Harry Potter themed photo. This year however, I've also used it as a chance to write tutorial on levitation for my blog!

joelrobisonphoto.wordpress.com/2012/02/18/levitation-tuto...

Not only that but if you try out my tutorial and post an image letting me know that you tried it out, I'll enter your name in for a give-away for a some hand-made Harry Potter props! I made the golden snitch in this photo and I have a cool wand and some other Potter-tastic gifts too, be sure to go and check it out :)

Dear friends, a series of images taken in London.

After 36 years, I revisited London, and I found so many changes, and contrasts: wonderful modern buildings mixed with ancient ones, sun and rain, very polite poeple and a vivid citylife!

FASCINATING!

I loved it!

Her Majesty's Royal Palace and Fortress, more commonly known as the Tower of London, is a historic castle on the north bank of the River Thames in central London. It was founded towards the end of 1066 as part of the Norman Conquest of England. The White Tower, which gives the entire castle its name, was built by William the Conqueror in 1078, and was a resented symbol of oppression, inflicted upon London by the new ruling elite.

The Shard is an 87-storey skyscraper in London that forms part of the London Bridge Quarter development. The construction began in March 2009; it was topped out on 30 March 2012[13] and inaugurated on 5 July 2012.[14]

Standing approximately 306 metres (1,004 ft) high,[3] the Shard is currently the tallest building in the European Union.

The glass-clad pyramidal tower has 72 habitable floors, with a viewing gallery and open-air observation deck – the UK's highest – on the 72nd floor, at a height of 244.3 metres (802 ft).[3][18] It was designed by the Italian architect Renzo Piano.

Nine Reasons to “Eat Your Radishes”!

As a cruciferous vegetable like broccoli, radishes have a host of health benefits but are typically under-appreciated – pushed around on crudité platters until they’re all that’s left and then drowned in ranch dressing to wash them down. Nevertheless, below are nine amazing reasons to “eat your radishes!”

1. Naturally cooling

2. Sooth sore throats

3. Aids digestion

4. Prevents viral infections

5. Eliminates toxins

6. Protects against cancer

7. Relieves indigestion

8. Low in calories, high in nutrients

9. Keeps you hydrated

It was a real pleasure being able to get out and shoot sunset with Darren White and Rich Bitonti. We originally went up to the blooming orchards overlooking Mt. Hood, and although we got a few neat shots, the light was looking more promising down on the Columbia River. We got there with seconds to spare before the sky blew up into these gorgeous colors. The Hood River Valley is in full bloom.

Tokyo Skytree Tōkyō Sukaitsurī is a broadcasting, restaurant, and observation tower in Sumida, Tokyo, Japan. It became the tallest structure in Japan in 2010 and reached its full height of 634.0 metres in March 2011, making it the tallest tower in the world, displacing the Canton Tower, and the second tallest structure in the world after Burj Khalifa.

The tower is the primary television and radio broadcast site for the Kantō region; the older Tokyo Tower no longer gives complete digital terrestrial television broadcasting coverage because it is surrounded by high-rise buildings. Skytree was completed on 29 February 2012, with the tower opening to the public on 22 May 2012.

The tower is the centrepiece of a large commercial development funded by Tobu Railway and a group of six terrestrial broadcasters headed by NHK. Trains stop at the adjacent Tokyo Skytree Station and nearby Oshiage Station, and the complex is only 7 km north-east of Tokyo Station.

On January 17 1966 an American nuclear bomber collided with an American fuel-tanker aircraft above Vera Playa. Both planes crashed. The B52 bomber was carrying four thermo-nuclear devices - believed to be H-bombs.

Three of the bombs stayed in the B52 bomber which crashed on Palomares, a village near to Vera Playa. The tanker aircraft also crashed with the loss of the whole crew.

The nuclear bombs did not explode though the high explosive in two of them did, contaminating local agricultural land with plutonium dust.

It looks as though this house was under construction at the time and was abandoned.

"But as no-go zones have expanded in Palomares and in the Almagrera foothills downwind, less is known about the site where, in 2008, two trenches of contaminants were discovered, left behind and buried by the Air Force—a literal cover-up. Still less is known (or said) about the beach where servicemen loaded the toxic barrels for transport. "Lower Palomares" remains a sparsely-populated stretch of an otherwise overdeveloped seashore, between Villaricos, now a popular scuba-diving destination, and Vera Playa, rechristened as Europe's longest nudist beach. In between, dog walkers cross paths with motocross enthusiasts, long-pole fishermen brush up against determined gay cruisers—with yards of plastic warning tape ripped down and balled up.

What many fail to see or prefer to forget is what lies beneath the eerie surface beauty of Palomares Bajo."

From a rock near Bradići there is a beautiful view over the valley of river Bosna and the mainline Sarajevo - Doboj. At August 19tn 2012 ZFBH 441 308 running through the valley with an empty ore train from Zenica steelwork to the iron ore mine at Omarska.
