Dati Tecnici
a) Leica M8 + Carl Zeiss Biogon ZM 25 mm f.2,8T* (+ Filtro Leica UV/IR);
b) Tempo Finale 1/30s apertura a f.3,2 (a mano libera);
c) Utilizzato il Magnifier 1,25x per effettuare una messa a fuoco più precisa;
d) Impostazione Asa/Iso 160;
e) Lettura Esposimetrica esterna rilevata sulla media ponderata al cento;
f) Lettura Esposimetrica impostata in M (manuale) esterna effettuata con Sekonic DualSpot F-L-778 Angolo 1° (effettuate 4 misurazioni con metodo del Sistema Zonale di “Ansel Adams”) a luce riflessa e 1 lettura di equiparazione e bilanciamento con Esposimetro esterno Gossen Lunalite lettura a luce riflessa (con calotta inserita);

e) Esposizioni:
1)......la prima sulla superficie della tenda posta subito dopo il vetro dell’infisso (in particolare quella parte ricamata più chiara in corrispondenza del bordo superiore della sedia) ;
2)......la seconda (doppia) sia sulla guancia destra della ragazza e per equiparazione sulla guancia destra della bambola (il valore era molto simile la variazione era di 1/3 di stop) questa lo posta sulla Zona V del grigio medio al 18% aumentato di 1/ del valore;
3)......la terza sul tessuto della spalla desta della ragazza in primo piano. Questa parte di superfice era molto importante per la trama ricca di particolari e di zone chiare e scure;
4)......la quarta sui capelli della ragazza, in particolare il riflesso, ovvero la porzione illuminata della luce proveniente dal balcone che si trova a destra. (In questa porzione, dopo alcune letture di verifica, ho dato un valore n+2,5 rispetto al valore letto in quanto la luminanza della luce era filtrata da una tenda di colore Panna con striature marroni pertanto loa luce oltre alla filtratura veniva assorbita e diffusa, il cielo non era particolarmente limpido ma parzialmente nuvoloso e pertanto avevamo una temperatura cromatica di quasi 6000°K);
5)......La media ottenuta dalle letture precedenti è stata confrontata con il valore t/d (tempo/diaframma) ottenuto dalla settima lettura effettuata con misurazione a luce riflessa sulla calotta superiore dell’esposimetro Gossen Lunalite posto parallelamente alla figura e con la calotta rivolta perpendicolarmente verso l’ottica di ripresa (l’esposimetro è stato posto fra il braccio sinistro della ragazza e la guancia della bambola);
La luminanza è stata posta sulla zona V del Grigio Medio al 18% sovraesponendo intenzionalmente di 1+1/3 diaframmi. Ho intenzionalmente imposto e compresso o contratto la scala di n-1,5 per avere una maggiore corposità dei neri cercando di non aumentare il contrasto. Il totale è stato sovraesposto di n+1/3 per evitare che l’esposizione finale impostata non penalizzasse le alte luminanze delle “zone VI/VII” (disegni della stoffa del letto e della sedia nonché della trama della tenda) che sarebbero risultate con poco dettaglio (visto che la luce che arrivava in quelle parti in penombra e pre-penombra aveva una “temperatura cromatica di 2700°k”) o le basse luci (le luci in forte ombra quelle in ombra o parzialmente illuminate erano troppo basse stimate fra 1250°K"/1900°K"/. Poi c’era il fattore “caduta della luce” visto che la stanza non aveva altre fonti di illuminazione ne diretta né per riflessione (non vi erano pareti chiare vicino) tale fattore era proporzionale alla distanza dall’asse ottico di ripresa quindi in quelle zono la caduta variava dal 22% al 45%.
f) Impostazione nel corpo camera Leica M8: ISO/ASA 160, DR (auto), WB (Bilanciamento del Bianco (auto), Saturazione Colore (Stadard), Nitidezza (Medio-Alto), Contrasto (Standard) Riduzione disturbo (0), Qualità Immagine (DNG), Dimensione Immagine compresso (3:2 – 10MB);
g) Tecnica di ripresa esposimetrica con il sistema dell”Esposizione a Destra;
h) Prima Post-Produzione per la correzione del bilanciamento cromatico/tonale delle varie aree e zone di colore per compensare la caduta di luce con Nikon Capture NX 2;
i) Seconda Post-Produzione con Adobe Photoshop CC2015 per il bilanciamento delle zone d’ombra;
l) Post-Produzione di completamento con Nikon Capture NX2 e CorelPhoto-Paint X7 64bit per il completamento e la sistemazione finale del "Sistema Zonale"..

Questa parole sono dedicate ad una piccola bimba di nome Giada che ha avuto la sfortuna, assieme alla madre inconsapevole, di avere avuto in casa l’uomo “compagno della madre” che in assenza di quest’ultima abusava della bimba. Dai racconti delle suore tutrici e dai neuropsichiatri che attualmente la stanno aiutando a risollevarsi dal tremendo trauma psicologico e fisico. L’uomo è tato condannato.

Happy Slider Sunday - People enjoying the August 2019 Morris Cruise Night - Three exposure HDR processed with Nik HDR Efex Pro 2. Immpressionist painting effect with Topaz Studio 2. I have to say I really like this effect!
DJL_4214-Edit-2: I just found out that the name of this ranch is "Wrench Ranch" as the wrench on the side of the barn would indicate.
Based on the mark 11 epic gear set for batman in injustice 2.
I think it looks so cool in the game that I just had to make it in lego. I also unlike usual decided to modify the arms and legs by gluing on components.
The chest gear is attatched via mini magnets like on my iron man (The black iron man preparements became this batman).
The belt is sculpted on a cut out plastic aheet so that it works just like the lego batman movie belt.
The mask is also 100% sculpted by me and it is removable.
I decided not to modify a official batman cowl because the eyes becomes so far up that way that he looks so much taller than other figures. Therefore the face proportions are slightly legofied and might seem a bit off.
I now have made 4 characters out of the 39+ in injustice 2 ;P.

La semana pasada mi amigo Gonzalo subió una foto de este mismo tren para inaugurar los martes de Flickr. Esto me hizo recordar que tengo varias fotos del viaje que precisamente hice con él allá por 2018 para pillar estos ya desaparecidos carboneros. Quizá uno de los viajes de trenes que más me ha valido la pena hacer.
Junto a un abandonado poblado llamado La Zarzana (según he podido encontrar en la web del IGN porque no hay mucha más información acerca) las impolutas 319.240 y 319.203 arrastran por el ramal a muy baja velocidad uno de los 5 carboneros que en aquella época estaba consumiendo la térmica de Andorra diariamente. Demolida a día de hoy, la central daba numerosos puestos de trabajo y riqueza a una zona ya de por sí vaciada, que ha quedado aún más muerta si cabe. El progreso lo llaman.

The crew of the HO02 are making their way down the Steelton Industrial track at a hair above walking speed, but to catch a decent exposure of the Juanita rebuild GP38-2 I had to crank the shutter down to a fifth of a second, giving them a "jump to light speed" pan.
Another image from the visit to the Cabrillo National Monument yesterday. This is one of the native plants growing along the trails. When people think about California super bloom, flowers certainly come to mind, but it is not only flowers that are blooming. The succulent plants are also native here and while not as flashy as California poppies, they are beautiful.
I took 2 lenses yesterday, my wide angle and Helios44-2. I usually have one lens on for the hike to the end of the trail and put another one for the hike back.

Last week, I took a break from little bird and did a couples days in Cape May. Day 1 was just okay, but at dawn on Day 2, I had a fantastic morning capturing about 6 species in golden hour. I have a few images that I really loved, but this one felt really good as I was shooting it and I love the way it came out. My best capture of a Least Sandpiper just after dawn. You can see his reflection in the soft shallow waters and the green in the background just complete the scene. Many times get them foraging in the mud or plain sand, so this was really refreshing. As I grow as a photographer I have realized that I needed to spend more time photographing in my "backyard" instead of dreaming and lusting for opportunities far away. I am lucky enough to live on the edge of the Shenandoah Valley and the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains as I am a stones throw next to West Virginia.
In years past in Autumn/Fall I would be venturing ALL over the place and putting hundreds of miles on my car on the weekends as West Virginia is home to places like Blackwater Falls State Park, Dolley Sods, Spruce Knob, and Babcock State Park to name a few. This places are beautiful, but I feel I need a break from them for a little bit because they are SO well photographed. So this year I made a decision to stay within a county of where I live and force myself down some back roads that I have not traveled in a long while and some never at all. I have found some wonderful treasures because fo this decision..and this is one of them.
I went monochromatic because #1 I love monochrome, #2 I was shooting in mid day, #3 the clouds were amazing, and #4...again, I love monochrome! HA!

Lokbespannte Züge der Baureihe 111 (jahrzentelang der Standardverkehr zwischen Ingolstadt und Treuchtlingen) wurden in den letzten beiden Jahren durch die unfotogenen Twindexx Triebzüge der Baureihe 445 ersetzt. Hier legt sich 111 200-2 samt RegionalBahn 59148 in die Breitenfurter Kurve.
For many years locomotive-hauled regional services between Ingolstadt and Treuchtlingen pulled by class 111 locomotives were by far not spectacular. Nowadays, class 445 trains have almost entirely replaced them. In this picture 111 200-2 was hauling RB 59148 to Treuchtlingen.
No black borders, yeah ! I had to work on me not to put them but I'm strong.
This is bicyle #2. I have a hard time finding bicyles that are not ugly mountain bikes.
View big on black is a must.

My 2¢? I think they should have hung a camera around that sculpture's neck to complete the image. From now on I'm going to refer to this sculpture as "the Photographer." ;-)

This amazing piece of work is by Ray Lonsdale and is affectionately known as Seaham Tommy by the locals. Standing at approx 9ft tall it's an impressive site. It was a horrible misty day in Seaham when I originally took this photo. The photo wasn't the best, the colours were washed out and the photo just wasn't doing it for me, that's until I decided to photoshop and frame it using Elements 14 and Silver Efex 2. I then decided to try something I learned at college, colour popping, and for me its completely transformed the photo.

2020-09-06, Day 2
The waters of Dinwoody Creek hasten for lower ground as the cool blue of evening begins to creep into the sky that fills the cirque below Gannett Peak, Fitzpatrick Wilderness, Wind River Range, Wyoming.
At this point in the evening, my hiking parter was far ahead of me, largely because I dawdled amongst the stones and water with my camera, looking for compositions and appreciating the light. At length, I glanced up and saw him on a rise some distance away, beckoning that I should come and see what lay upslope. I thought briefly of the fact that we had a little under three miles between where we stood and our camp, and that neither one of us had thought to bring a headlamp as we raced out of camp toward timberline. However, these thoughts were brief because it was fairly clear that the only thing that really mattered was to osmotically absorb as much of this wondrous place as possible. With the pack back in camp and no weight to shoulder, I felt light and infected with mountain air and water. Giddiness prevailed, and I jogged up the trail to see what was exciting my friend's sensibilities.
Technical notes: Hand-held due to weight-avoidance behavior while backpacking (i.e., no tripod).

I've always been fascinated with Autumn leaves in water. Sunday, the day I took this and the snake (previous upload), Nov. 10, was the first day I'd had my camera(s) out since Aug. 2. I did get the 200-500 out yesterday to chase down a couple of the year's first Hooded Mergansers . . . and I feel it today!

Prior to the ULEZ back when it commenced in April 2019, route 2 usually would have 1 or 2 Ts out during a weekday morning. Since then, route 2 hasn't seen any ADL vehicles other than Wrights.
HT7 from the 202 gained back in September of this year, has been seen working on the route 2 during most of the morning, which was pictured during my short break. Having never properly photographed the route 2, I did venture to the stands here in person.
The little of that short break got me lucky, as this was the last trip before getting substituted for an HV - HT7 then went to it's allocated route 202 later in the afternoon.

C'est en fait une petite création personnelle à partir d'éléments de disquettes 3"1/2. J'avais engrangé pas mal de disquettes et je ne les avais toujours pas mises à la poubelle. Geste écolo oblige, j'ai séparé le plastique du métal avant de les jeter et je me suis dit qu'avec la petite partie métallique gris métallisé qui servait de cache à la fente de lecture et le disque lui-même, il y avait matière à créer des compositions picturales. Voilà la petite histoire.
It's in fact a little personal creation from disk elements 3 "1/2. I had earned lots of disks and I still had not put in the trash. Gesture green oblige, I separated the plastic of metal before throwing them and I thought that with the small metallic gray metal part that served as hiding the reading slot and the disc itself, there were material to create pictorial compositions. This is the short story.

As you can see folks this guy, the one on the right was there first and so wanted to keep this spot and had gotten so aggressive the other guy jumped clear out of the frame, and if you notice the left leg of the one that is airborne it is up against the body of the other getting into position for his assault, which you will see tomorrow, this altercation really got serious. Beneath a (nearly) cloudless late-summer sky, BNSF 6022 leads a Tacoma-bound stack.
BNSF 6022 was one of the company's 10 commemorative locomotives featuring predecessor logos for the 25th anniversary of the super-merger. A modern version of BN's Pacific Pride units 1 & 2.
I happened to catch the 6022 leading previously in the wintertime. But of the 3 "sticker" units I've seen, the sun hadn't cooperated till now.
Perhaps it's a little ironic this day was Warren Buffett's birthday.

A lot of fans were dissatisfied with getting "just stickers". Yes, we've been spoiled with companies painting full-on heritage units.
They could've done nothing at all, this is something different and uniquely BN. I like it.

The WWII memorial (1960s) and the Cathedral of Mary's Assumption (2010) in Yaroslavl on the Volga, Russia. Shot with a manual lens (7Artisans f1.2). I had published this image before. Russia's extreme suffering during the Second World War is one of the constituent elements of its political outlook today. The other is the post-communist re-integration of the sacred (in the shape of the Russian Orthodox Church) into the nationalist pantheon - Russia as the "Third Rome", the bastion and defender of true Christianity. These two elements combined with a deep anger about the collapse of the USSR and the advance of liberal Western culture (and NATO too) produce a potent mix of nationalist sentiments. Criticising these sentiments I must, but as a UK citizen I can do this only by acknowledging the hypocrisy going on in my own country, for example the fact that London for decades used to be the centre of the world when it comes to money laundering. Our political parties, one in particular, got used to accepting big donations from "oligarchs". In a way, the UK (and others) were quite content to do business with the nationalist monster rising up in the East.
