Went to a farmers' market today.
It took a lot of self control to not eat all of these on the way home. I think I ate half of them before deciding that it would be nice to take a picture.
I love tomatoes and Bram isn't a fan so this means more for me :)
1. I feel my best late at night. Thus me feeling absolutely terrible in the morning.
2. I usually walk fairly fast with long steps, but I don’t often see where I’m going.
3. When I talk with people, I usually play with my legs and smooth my hair.
4. While relaxing, I sit with one leg curled under me. I think my legs might grow different ways because of that.
5. When something really amuses me, I react with a really big laugh I think some people find obnoxious. I can’t really tell because no one says anything to me.
6. When I go to a party or social gathering, I make a quiet entrance, but then someone sees me and makes a loud entrance.
7. When I’m working or concentrating very hard, and I’m interrupted, I feel very irritated and might yell a bit. How dare you interrupt my thinking??
8. I like the colors yellow & light blue.
9. I go to sleep with my head on one arm and facing stomach-down.
10. I often dream of searching for something or somebody, but my dreams are always of the adventures along the way.
Okay, so...I have to begin that I confused Abe's last day of 365.
Somewhere between my (obvious?) inability to count and my innate lack of being able to pay attention.
I'm sure everyone wants to come to my bank to open a checking account now.......
Sorry about that, Abe. I'm that way, I guess. :)
That said...well...I'm gonna call this a tribute simply because Abe always strikes me as this..."hoodie" guy. Don't get me wrong. I love hoodie-guys. I'm a hoodie-girl.
Though this looks nothing like your work.
I started out trying to copycat, and...well...that bit above where I mentioned the lack of an attention span..................????
Ha. ;-) Love ya Abey. Congrats again. (for realz this time.)
aaaaaaaaaand.....I got tagged again. By CruiserDyl
For the life of me I imagine there is NO way possible there's anything you Flickr peeps don't know by now...but gah.....meh....*grumble*.....blegh.
****
1. I rarely open up to anyone.
2. I wear dark eye-makeup everyday. Started that to draw attention to my eyes and away from my mouth...oh...about 13 years ago.
3. I want another 6 inches of hair. Then I'll be happy. About my hair, anyways.
4. If I could *be* anyone for a day, I would want to be Queen Elizabeth II. She has always intruiged me and I have always wondered if I would be a stoic hardass like her.
5. I received a rather lurid Flickrmail from someone I don't know about an hour ago. Something about loving the bones in my body, especially his? No clue. *cough, cough, ignore* People are weird.
6. Knotted hair makes me nauseous.
7. I leave my cell phone at home at least once a week. I'm crap at remembering it though it drives me crazy to know I don't have it.
8. The Goonies is the only movie I watched as a child that when I watch now, still retains the quality and thrill that I remember.
9. I believe that popularity is overrated.
10. Everyone thought I was going to be a boy. My name was Matthew. They had to scrape the name off the cake once I was born.
Last night we were reminiscing, and my mom said she believed it at the time because I kicked like crazy in the womb. And followed with a
"well....you did end up a tomboy".
:)
Night guys. Have a great one, see you tomorrows. xoxo

For the 10 Things Group
10/10 - Cute Things
It's probably pretty oblivious that I really like cute things, like piggies and tiny mushrooms. ^_^
I was tagged by Fidgetblogs
awhile ago... so here are my 10 things: (If you are reading this, consider yourself tagged, but only if you want)
1. I'm very, very shy so this is difficult for me.
2. I have always been artistic, but feel I have finally found my true medium in photography.
3. I love to read. I am always reading something. My reading has suffered since discovering photography, and that is really saying something.
4. My first DSLR camera was purchased for me by my wonderful husband this past Christmas. I didn't even know that I wanted it. I am so grateful he knew that I did.
5. I am a stay at home mom.
6. I have 3 yr. old fraternal, boy/girl twins.
7. The most satisfying part of photography for me is the editing process.
8. I am shamelessly addicted to Flickr and creating images.
9. I lead a pretty boring life, and I am happy with that.
10.I would love to do this professionally.
*edit*11. Ordered and received my first canvas print of Best Friends. I love it!
Used Pioneer Woman's 70s PS action.
So I've been tagged again by some seriously awesome people, so here goes 10 more things about me ...
1) I easily fall in love with new clothes, bags and perfume, but it takes more time with music. I mean, that just IS something special.
2) I can watch Two and a Half Men and The Big Bang Theory episodes over and over again. I mean I can speak the lines along with the actors. Mock me if you will, but these two are some real good sh!t.
3) I am addicted to Criminal Minds and I have no idea what I’ll do when I’ll run out of episodes.
4) I can fall asleep listening to Canadian and British people talk. I mean their English is so damn enjoyable.
5) I can rap A Milli with my roommate from the first line to last. We just rock!! Although we are white as vanilla.
6) I am a cooking enthusiast and I feel really sh!itty if something goes wrong and the food doesn’t taste as good as I expected, it can seriously bring my mood down.
7) Sometimes I do not appreciate the people and things around me. (I am working on that)
8) I LOVE MAJOR LAZER they are so much inspiration! And the music is off the chain.
9) I love to go to sleep as late as possible.
10) We (me and my friend&roommate) think that our neighbours are serial killers. Seriously.
All dogs are good dogs, but there is something especially wonderful about a sleepy dog. The way they stretch, the way they lay their head on your lap, the way they yawn. A sleepy dog makes you want to find a patch of sun, lay on the floor, and join in the nap.
In the summertime, Sofia doesn't have the same options as her brother; there are no camps or programs available that are appropriate for her needs. And even though I would love to take the whole summer off to be with her, I have to work. Therein lies the dilemma.
My camp director, who has the biggest heart of any human being I know, came up with a solution: he schedules my art camp classes so that they all fall on Mondays and Fridays. Those are the days that Ken stays home with Sofia, and that way I can be with her the other days of the week. Ken doesn't have to take extra time off, I get all my summer part-time hours in at work, and Sofia gets a summer of undivided attention from mommy and daddy..
Did I mention what a big heart my camp director has?
So summertime is a dream come true --- I get to work and stay home with my daughter. It's a bit of a financial crunch for those three months, but I don't mind... because I've been given the gift of time, and time is the greatest commodity of all.
Hope nobody is disappointed coming to my stream to find just a plain old simple selfie today. I may have time for a twisted fairytale album cover later, but right now I really just wanted to get a good shot of my new hair. I am so in love with it. And this shot doesn't do it justice. In person, it's deeper, richer, and more purpley/wine-colored than this. It's fantabulous and it's exactly what I wanted.
And, since I've been tagged repeatedly, I guess it's time I did one of these 10 random things memes.
1. I am a total clutterbug. I subscribe to the "a pile for everything and everything in its pile" method of organization. Sometimes it drives me crazy and I crave an uber-tidy space, but usually my desire to relax wins out over my desire to clean.
2. I've played soccer my entire life. I coached for five years during college and before law school and I miss coaching more than anything else I've had to give up in my life. If I won the lottery tomorrow, I wouldn't retire. I would coach soccer.
3. There is no food too spicy for me. It's my super mutant power. Ever since high school, I've been on quest to find something too hot for my tongue. Thai food is my favorite and when I order from my local restaurant, they know me immediately, even over the phone. I've been asking for "very very very very very very spicy, as spicy as you can make it" for the past five or six years. When I lived in Kansas City and would come home for visits, I would always get my favorite Thai food and they would always ask me why I had been away so long.
4. I like to sleep with the temperature unreasonably cold. Summer or winter. I like to have a heavy down comforter over me and a fan blowing straight at me and the thermostat turned down so low a penguin would be asking for a hat. In fact, while I sleep in shorty shorts and a little tshirt or tank top, Andy sleeps with long flannel pj pants, two long sleeve shirts and a ski cap. True story. And no matter how cold it is, I still usually complain about getting too hot during the night.
5. My biggest pet peeve (just barely beating out slow drivers in the left lane and people who drive ten miles an hour whenever it snows) is the ridiculous politically correct movement that has been ruining everybody's fun for decades now. When I was in sixth grade, my school decided it needed to change its mascot from the Trojans to the Tigers. Why? Because Trojan is a brand of condom. This and other obsurdities that these PC Nazis come up with absolutely kill me. Since when did it become a god-given right to NOT be offended? When I meet people who are overly concerned with being unoffensive to as many people as possible, I typically go out of my way to offend them. Character flaw or a lesson in DEAL WITH IT? You decide.
6. When I took my first bar exam (Michigan 2004), I weighed 122 lbs and felt better than I ever had in my adult life. Over the course of the next five years, while working for firms that made me extremely unhappy, I gained 90 lbs. That's more than most hollywood starlets weigh! I've lost a bit since my highest weight, but I am on a quest now to lose all of this extra baggage and get healthy. 2010 is all about a change in lifestyle for me. And 52 Weeks of Feeling Fit is like a beacon in the night, helping me to stay on course.
7. I am a TV addict. Thank god for DVRs. I don't know what I did before them. I have multiple shows on every night of the week that I refuse to miss. And when I find people who are into the same shows as I am (Hi Daynna!), it's like an instant bond as we discuss the latest developments. There are only a few shows that I refuse to be interrupted while watching. Andy has learned this and completely leaves me alone while I watch them. Lost and Fringe are at the top of the list of "don't even bother trying to get my attention right now" shows.
8. I can't be around animals without creating animal voices and speaking their thoughts. I used to watch the Westminster Dog Show with my friends just to make the voices for all of the dogs. I don't even realize I'm doing it most of the time when I'm around my pets.
9. I went to an all-girls horse camp for seven years and then worked there on staff for a year after that. Those are still some of the greatest summertime memories for me. And I desperately miss riding. Bareback jumping was always my favorite.
10. I sing nonstop. I was in choir all through school, and I did musical theater up until I graduated from high school. I had two leads my senior year, one was Nellie Forbush in South Pacific, the other was the Narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. I think of those as my glory days. And one day I WILL get back into musical theater. Until then, everybody who spends any time around me will have to endure listening to me sing all of their favorite songs.

365 Days (self portraits): Day 283
52 Weeks of Feeling Fit: Week 1
Today is my flickr bud Joyce Latham's birthday. It seems I'm doing a lot of birthdays lately. All Joyce wanted (other than a seat on the Red Sofa) was ten of something. Ten of anything. That's not asking too much I suppose. So I reached down in the cooler and pulled the lady up ten brews. Come and get 'em Joyce!

10 things about me, Gracie
1. my dad calls me bigfoot, and mom's got the scars on her arms to prove that I also have big fingernails.
2. I love visitors and children, but I can be overwhelming. I try to pat them with my big feet. I smile a lot. I want people to be happy with me.
3. I am very very sensitive and I don't like loud voices. once when dad was yelling at jones about something, jones didn't care, but they found me in the side yard sitting and shaking. [they are pretty quiet around me now]
4. I expect a tummy rub very late at night. I get up in the middle of the night to go out and pee because mom doesn't sleep well and she reads late. mom goes out with me. I am brave out there.
5. mom tries to take me out front in the daylight, but Rainey kitty scares me, so I run back in the yard.
6. mom came in the kitchen with a big box of cookies on her head [she was carrying it in from the utility room] and I saw her and ran in the house growling and barking. [heh! I didn't recognize her. she knows again how protective I am] [of my mom]. I don't always recognize dad with a hat on. [the chickens don't recognize him either. they squawk]
7. sometimes I try to jump on the kitchen counters and steal food [when I was a puppy I got a roast off the stove--my humans said it was their fault for leaving it there and not watching, and they said it was a tough roast anyway]. when I get on the counter edge dad says LOUDLY, 'Gracie! off!', and I smile and wag my tail and skulk around.
8. I always stay by my mom. I try to talk to her. I whine and cry and expect my humans to read my mind. sometimes they whine with me, and I make the same sounds, and I sometimes I howl.
9. I get cranky if Quiz misbehaves, but I let her climb up on me when it's cold and I'm in the Chair. Jasper yells at me and puts my head in his mouth. I play with Schubert out on the hill.
10. I am the sensitive vocal shy neurotic dog in the house. and I am the protective one.

As odd as it sounds, I've always found something comforting about ironing...at least when the weather turns cool. I like the warmth of it, and the repetitive motion, and the fact that it's not entirely mindless. Ironing requires enough of your attention that you can't drift off entirely into a daydream, but it still allows you to hover just above the surface of a daydream.

10 Things:
See, this is what I've been waiting to get on film or digital sensor. It's a faint patch of light running along the Ecliptic, the apparent path that the planets, Moon and Sun travel along. The phenomena is called ecliptical light or Zodiacal light because the constellations because the solar systems objects appear to pass through these 12 constellations. Venus is currently between Cancer and Leo and Mars is situated between Taurus and Gemini.
The ecliptical light is caused by back-scattered sunlight reflecting off the debris, or dust particles that fills the plane of the ecliptic. Here the ecliptical light starts from the horizon above Venus and runs into the Orion arm of the Milky Way.

5/10 - Writing/Drawing in my Journal
I'm not very good at drawing, but I enjoying doodling and sketching in my journal. I also glue a lot of random things into, like ticket stubs and tag bag covers. I also have a page filled with fortunes from fortune cookies I've collected.
Also I some times actually write in my journal.... though I mostly doodle. ^_^
I'm so behind! Here's my 10 things finally :) Thanks for the tag Ana/Sugaroni :)
1. I live with my fiance, 2 dogs and all of our toys.
2. I am terrified of snakes. It's not even funny, I can't even look at a picture without panicking.
3. For the most part I only drink orange juice and water. Only a sip of soda once in a blue moon.
Quinne: I drink beer.
Me: That's great Quinne.
Quinne: I know! It hits the spot!
4. I really enjoy cooking and I can eat pasta 24/7.
5. I found Blythe back in late 2005 but didn't get my first until 2008.
Quinne: I was the first. Best decision she's made.
6. I can't picture myself with kids at all....they kind of frighten me.
Quinne: Yea I don't think you would do a good job.
Me: That's great, thanks Quinne!
Quinne: I'm just being honest. You are good with the dogs though.
7. I enjoy making people laugh.
Quinne: Do I make people laugh? I really hope I do!
8. I'm a chatterbox once I get to know you!
9. I have a big heart for my friends, I'll be there and help you no matter what but if you cross me or hurt me, I'm done with you. I'm very cut and dry like that.
10. I have big dreams that I hope to make happen.
Quinne: Anything else they should know about me??
Me: Anything you want to tell them?
Quinne: Um...I'm the coolest one living here in Louville.
I tag anyone who hasn't done this and wants to! I'm not sure who hasn't....Tia? SimplyMinty?
So I was tagged by Courtney which apparently means that I have to say 10 things about myself. I guess they can be any 10 things. That’s easy, I suppose.
1. I am eagerly awaiting May so I can graduate, and move on with my life which has recently fallen into a rather sad state of stagnation. Also because my love and I are planning an interrail trip this summer! Yeah!
2. There are so many things I would love to do rather than getting a “real job.” These include but are not limited to opening a coffee shop, writing, travel writing, photography, film, or nothing at all.
3. I am currently working on a Blurb book of my 365. It will not include every picture. Feel free to message me with your favorites or any ones you think I need to include. Otherwise the list is chosen by my client (read mom) who gets the final say because of $ reasons.
4. I wish I had an awesome blog, but I don’t. Maybe one day. Maybe even one I could make a little bit of money off of one day.
5. Before the summer I want to try to get rid of most of my stuff whether by selling, donating, or just disposing of. I’m trying to keep my number of possessions to a minimum.
6. I sold my DSLR and can’t decide if I want to upgrade to a newer one or buy a Hasselblad. Or just save the money.
7. I got an espresso machine for Christmas. IT IS AMAZING! I believe it has changed the way all coffee tastes to me. Crazy.
8. Lately I’ve been super addicted to books by Haruki Murakami. I wish I could write like that.
9. I really really like this Yashica-Mat camera. I just bought some black and white film so I can use it in combination with my black and white photography class. :)
10. I have a hard time buckling down and doing stuff. Lately my mind is all over the place. I blame the internet, but it could also have something to do with the big life changes occurring in my life, some now and the biggest ones soon.
Props to anyone who actually read that whole thing. I didn’t mean to ramble.

I saw two shooting stars last night
I wished on them but they were only satellites
Is it wrong to wish on space hardware
I wish, i wish, i wish you'd care
—Billy Bragg, "A New England"
We drove home from Toronto last night listening to a CD my brother made of Bragg's "Worker's Playtime" album. For some reason he added two versions of "A New England" — Bragg's and Kirsty MacColl's. That stanza stuck in my head all day today so I figured I'd wait for the International Space Station to fly by and exorcise it from me.
(This is a one minute exposure and as such the satellite leaves a streak in the sky. You don't actually see the streak in real life, just a bright, moving object.)
10 Things:
I hated raw carrots when I was a kid. They tasted so bland. It wasn't till after I moved to Montreal and started to hang out with some anarchists and tried some organically grown carrots that I acquired a taste for them. Organic carrots are bloody sweet.

Everything you've ever heard about running? It's all true.
Except for the weight loss. That's a lie.
Running soothes me. It makes me sleep like a log. It also makes me feel like dying occasionally but since I haven't (so far) it's okay.
I am not very fast but I like to run races. I can be really competitive. So I run long distances. The longer I run the better it gets.
Running made me realize that I can get through everything and achieve whatever I want to as long as I really want it.
And it makes me grin like an idiot. Might be the endorphins.
I've been tagged by the amazingly talented and adorable flicka's:: www.flickr.com/photos/riddells/ & www.flickr.com/photos/uniquemuslimah/
Soo Here I go:
1. I love random road trips. I drive a four door jeep and there is nothing like taking the top off, wind blowing in your hair and just driving where ever the road takes you. You find the best photo opps!!!
2. I fell in LOVE with photography my Junior year of high school when my best friend and I dropped out of drill team to take photography class...the best decision I ever made. Back when darkrooms and film were the thing.
3. I love witty people. I laugh at myself constantly, finding humor a necessity to overall sanity! I laugh a lot and loudly. Life without laughter would be a pretty boring place.
4. I love MUSIC. All kinds. Songs are the journal of my life. But my favorite would have to be acoustical...raw talent with just a voice and an instrument. I LOVE the way there is a song for every situation and moment in life.
5. I have lived in four states. Born in California. Texas. Vermont. Kentucky. I must say that each are very different from one another in their own fabulous ways. I wish I could combine all my favorite things about each state into one and I would live there forever.
6. I consider myself extremely lucky. I always seem to be in the right place at the right time. Whenever their is a raffle or door prize you can bet I am going to win it. Las Vegas....guaranteed to win...my husband always pushes me to the front in any "luck" situation knowing that I will more than likely win. Its very odd! I believe it to be the power of positive thinking or I have a magical lucky charm!?! lol
7. I believe that I was born in the wrong era, embarrassed at times of what we are becoming. I fear that the essence of a persons word has lost much value.
8. I have a “thing” for vintage stuff. I love anything with a history. History in books, in buildings, in photos, and in areas. Ancient architecture is very intriguing and puzzling to me.
9. I love baking- as in bread, cookies, cakes, and everything bad for you. Especially cakes and the thrill of decorating them. When my kids were younger I went out of my way to make the most extravagant cakes for their birthday parties. In fact I have made every one of their birthday cakes ever.
10. I was baptized in a lake. I am a very spiritual person and pray daily.
NOW... if I tag you, list 10 things about yourself... :)
.
This is also for the group Parellel Vision 52 weeks Self.
I just realized I never uploaded any of the images from a class exercise called "rocket ship". And I still have dozens of other images that might make it here eventually too. :-)
The premise was you are leaving alone in a rocket ship for the rest of your life and you can take only 10 photographs with you to remind you of ... whatever. I took the class at MIT and you'd be amazed how many of those smart students photographed a full laid out deck of cards so they could play solitaire. :-))))
Roses for me were both representing flora and the natural world. Alas, the assignment came in February so there was nothing flowering outside. It was valentines day week, though.
This isn't for my 365. I was tagged, and wanted to do it before I forgot. So I found one of my favorite pictures of me, since it just desrcibes me so well (Girly enough to love dresses, particularly prom dresses, but boyish enough to wear my Chucks.)
I can't take credit for this, it's one of my Senior portraits. Photo credit goes to Sarah Tarabocchia at Imago Dei Photography.
10 Things.
1. My favorite shoe in the entire world is Converse Chuck Taylors. High tops specificially. My dream is to own a pair in every color. I'd settle for some being colored laces though, to go with all of my back pairs. Right now I've got black, purple, and green. Plus my vintage gray ones with the Chuck symbol on them.
2. I'm not sure a day goes by without me watching Law and Order: SVU.
3. I don't remember how to fall asleep by myself without a movie or something playing in the background.
4. There are a few things that I "girl out" over. Dresses/shopping is one. Others include shoes, jewelry, my hair, and cute and fluffy animals.
5. I want an English Bulldog so badly. I would name him something British or formal sounding, but I'm not entirely sure what yet. Humphrey, Leonard, etc.
6. My first year of college (both in general and as a theatre major) is almost done. This scares the living poo out of me.
7. I've been toying with the idea of opening my own theatre when I leave college. But really, I haven't decided what I want to do once I graduate. Act, direct, teach etc. Just something in theatre.
8. Fruit punch and I are in love. It is likely to be served at my wedding.
9. I never stay single for very long. I just don't like it.
10. My family and friends mean the world to me. I'd be nothing without thier love and support, and I thank them from the bottom of my heart.
01. cold mexican beer
02. not wearing socks
03. daylight savings
04. the smell of sun lotion
05. sand between your toes
06. spicy potatoe cream soup
07. roasted sunflower seeds
08. john lennon songs
09. long distance phone calls
10. new year’s in summer

Day 83 - August 20th, 2009.
You know it's going to be bad when it's uploaded a day late.
Feet are gross.
I have a countdown to Christmas on my phone.
Anyways, I was tagged by the loverly Kat Lily again, so I'll do it just for her:
1. Miley Cyrus makes me want to shoot myself in the face.
2. I really really really love eating pickles.
3. The last 2 facts were prompted by the commericials on the TV I'm watching now.
4. My first ever job was at Burger King, where I actually met some of the coolest people still in my life.
5. I've been a vegetarian for more than 5 years but sometimes I still get this odd craving for breakfast sausage.
6. I'm one of the cool vegetarians because a) I did it before it was trendy, and b) I don't really care if you eat meat or not.
7. I'm a collector of many things.
8. I'm a fast walker.
9. I'm a hand talker.
10. I always wished I had a twin. (still do.)
Took a walk around the old Famer's Market on sunday morning before there were any people there. I love that place, so glad they didn't bulldoze it. One of LA's few historic gems.
Two of the things I love most: historic buildings and being out early in the morning all alone taking pictures.
For the 10 things group.
these photos were taken with two old underwater cameras I found laying around, with a couple photos left on each roll. I went for a morning swim with ivy and finished up the roll then. more pictures (old ones!) to come later in the week from the rolls. this one was taken by ivy.

#5: Swimming laps: let your mind wander, your head pound, and your body work. Its weightless and cool. Nothing compares to a lap in the pool.
I dislike the cold. I love the snow. This contradiction gives me no end of heartache. But the contradiction disappears with the first real snowfall of the winter. I will overlook any meteorological outrage on the day of the first real snowfall. Bitter cold, biting wind, glowering clouds, grey skies...they're all forgivable on that one day.
