The tomb of the boy-pharaoh, later the golden-pharaoh, #Tutankhamun was discovered by Howard Carter on the 4th of November 1922 in the #valleyofthekings in #Luxor.
Tutankhamun ruled Egypt for about 10 years and died from #malaria at the age of 19. Tomb of Tutankhamun was the only royal tomb in the Valley of the Kings to escape the tomb robbers. All royal and non-royal tombs in the Valley of the Kings were robbed in #ancientegypt but two;
Tomb of Tutankhamun and Tomb of Tuya & Yuya (non-royal couple).
Treasures of both tombs are displayed at the Egyptian Museum in #Cairo.
Tutankhamun alone, owns about 240 kg of gold at the Egyptian Museum, between his golden coffin, 112 kg of solid gold, his mask 11.5 kg and other stuff.
