I would like to tell a story of how very difficult it was to get to this place considering it is gorgeous, but actually it is quite straightforward. Wedge Pond is in the Kananaskis area of Alberta which is filled with wonderful sights.
One wants to arrive before sunrise and know where the sun will rise in the sky prior to arriving. That way the position chosen to set up will likely render the best result. Some call that previsualisation. I just say that I have been there before.
The toughest part of the trip is simply getting up long before sunrise. Then, getting on the road in the dark with breakfast in hand. Knowing the potential outcome and not having been there for four long years, filled the toughest part with anticipation and all part of the adventure. What I am really saying is that it is such an easy choice.

I am an explorer by birth. There is something deep in side my soul that causes me to have perpetual wander lust. I think that is one of the reasons I am drawn to Second Life as I can travel in mere seconds to lands of the unknown or those only living in the imaginations of its creators. The theme of this round of Collabor definitely spoke to that side of me, the nomad, the gypsy, the adventurer and world traveler. I could live my life on the road and I doubt I could ever get enough of things like the world's largest.....

A doorway to a mysterious world opened in front of Alfie on our morning walk. Unfortunately for him it was Sunday and I'd been playing - HSS!
Taken at Uisge Ban Falls Provincial park, on Cape Breton Island, in Nova Scotia, Canada.
I didn't take this path, I took main trail to the waterfalls, but I can testify that the river you'd follow on this particular trail is incredibly beautiful.

A snowy landscape awaited us when we reached the top of the chair at Sun Peaks in British Columbia, Canada. The low cloud created a dreamy scene that was gone moments after it presented itself.

One more from the recent Vermont & NY Adventures with Campanini - the SNEX 5012 enters Shushan, NY with five hoppers for the mills just a few miles to the north. The Battenkill can be seen traveling down the former D&H Washington Branch an average of about once a week, occasionally with the 5012 in charge as historically appropriate for the location. The story I heard is that the unit is leased from Southern New England Rail as a result of an increase in traffic occasionally requiring a second unit to pull the heavy loads up the branch to the mills, and with one of the RS3s out of service an alternate solution was found. The entire northbound run back towards Salem is generally backlit, so the already excellent weather conditions with storm clouds in the background and bright sky behind me proved even more rewarding.
RKO_1331. Looking into the archives I came across this image, taken at Masai Mara some years ago! A real adventure flying in such small aircraft, even after a long carrier in airline business! Can't wait to return.....

Adventure 11 has to go down as the most spectacular of our trips this year.
I was very grateful for the advice given by Mike Innes with regards to Dinorwic. The scale of this place is truly astounding and this shot is probably my favourite shot from 2016. The location is everything a landscape photographer would desire and we were lucky that we had some interesting weather to go with it.
Coming out of the mountains from the Death Valley National Park, I pulled over to take some photos. The panic attack it caused my wife was well worth it.
Es gibt Momente, die werde ich wohl nicht vergessen. Nicht weil etwas Großartiges passiert oder etwas Besonderes. Sondern weil etwas passiert, was mich im Kern berührt. Ich habe meine Tochter ins Feriencamp gefahren und kam auf dem Rückweg an diesem Ort vorbei. Ich parkte, genoss die Gegend und den Moment. Ich machte ein Handyfoto. Und ich machte dieses hier. Zur Sicherheit und weil ich dann daran "werkeln" könnte. Was ich sagen will: ich hätte auch keine Aufnahme machen müssen und der Moment wäre ähnlich stark (vielleicht sogar stärker) geworden. Es kommt nicht darauf an was man tut. Es kommt darauf an die Momente zu genießen. Und genau diese Aufnahme steht für mich als Mensch und natürlich auch für meinen Fotostream ...

Among the various scenes in the 2019 movie The Crown, in one Prince Philip meets the Apollo 11 Astronauts. He can not imagine a more adventurous life than the lives they lead. Conversely, the Astronauts can not image a more adventurous life than that of the Prince of England. Some how, "the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence",
I felt this way for a moment while taking this shot from the starboard side of the "Queen Of Sorry I'm Late" Ferry. While ensconced in the very activity that brings me so much delight, a part of me could not imagine a more adventurous moment than sailing with the mountains and sunset at one's back. And to add to this moment, it was a David and Goliath scenario as the sailboat steered headlong toward the Ferry. However, the skipper knew well, the Ferry would not be there when he arrived.

Selene walked the dark paths thru the Bewitched forest, eerie sounds and beady glowing eyes all around.
Suddently she heard galloping footsteps approaching and a soft growl. Turning and seeing a ferocious black wolf, she stood her ground, loving all animals she was not afraid. Wolves are her kin, her Spirit guides.
The Wolf seeing the woman, unafraid and feeling her kinship, quickly changed and before her eyes he was the most beautiful white wolf, a sign of peace, her white knight to protect her in this dark and creepy forest.
Looking at her, without words he beckoned for her to sit upon the saddle he was wearing and without fear she mounted the saddle and the adventure began.
No words were exchanged, he ran thru the forest, unafraid, protecting her at every turn yet showing her there was nothing to fear while at his side. Thru forests and deep waters, he ran, her hair flowing behind her he never missed a step. He slowed just enough for them to see the creatures of the night lurking in the rays of light.
The journey soon came to an end, dismounting Selene thanked him and wished him a safe journey, he thanked her and wished her a safe path. A bond was formed today .. a woman and wolf... their paths will cross once again and the adventure will continue.
Thank sweet Daniell for this marvelous adventure.
