It was a wild and typically Skye day yesterday with intense showers and ferocious winds. I thought a perfect day to go high on Blaven. I'd always wanted to see the Great Prow , so followed the roaring streams ever upwards. Rivers of water turned into rivers of moving stones as I struggled up the never ending scree slopes . The wind was getting ridiculously strong as I got higher, so sought shelter under the steepling buttresses. It was a wild Trip Out. I got blown over quite a few times, and was frequently submerged in a sea of scree on the way down. Every inch of me is bruised today. At one point I had one leg sliding down and the other above my shoulder. I didn't realise I was that flexible. Just to end a wonderful adventure perfectly I managed to slip and fall at the last stream crossing.

The island Frauenchiemsee, often called Fraueninsel, is the second largest of the three islands in Chiemsee lake, Germany. It belongs to the municipality of Chiemsee in the Upper Bavarian district of Rosenheim, which is the smallest municipality in all of Bavaria. The 15.5-hectare large and car-free Fraueninsel houses a convent of Benedictine nuns, which is usually called Frauenwörth, as well as 300 permanent residents. The monastery was founded in 782 by Tassilo III, Duke of Bavaria, making Frauenwörth the eldest German speaking convent beyond the Alps. Frauenchiemsee along with its sister island Herreninsel is one of the main tourist attractions on the Chiemsee. The island is accessible by ship year round, usually from Gstadt (where this picture was made), Prien, and Seebruck.
Die Insel Frauenchiemsee, oft auch Fraueninsel genannt, ist die zweitgrößte der drei Inseln im Chiemsee in Deutschland. Sie gehört zur Gemeinde Chiemsee im oberbayerischen Landkreis Rosenheim, der kleinsten Gemeinde Bayerns. Auf der 15,5 Hektar großen und autofreien Fraueninsel leben 300 Einwohner und es befindet sich dort ein Benediktinerinnenkloster, das meist Frauenwörth genannt wird. At sunset there will be a magnificent dinner, which will definitely be remembered for a long time and will leave the warmest impressions. Delicious dishes of national cuisine cooked on the grill.

Watching this entertaining, monsoon sunset was a real "trip" in several ways. It was crazy, vibrant, and constantly morphing (thus the series of shots) so pretty "trippy". Hard to believe, but the total time from the first to the last capture was a mere 15 minutes. It also required a bit of a "trip" to get to a nice viewing spot.
