Sweet. Good lord, SWEET. The desserts and pastries of Portugal could support a battalion of dentists for eons. I myself, have a sweet tooth, but came nowhere near to match the fondness for that cloying diabetes-triggering punch that the locals love sinking their teeth into.

Savoury offerings, on the other hand, are rustic - almost to the point you can imagine the food coming out of the oceans and the lands and propping themselves on the plates. That is not to say that simplicity could not deliver flavour. Sometimes, the best taste on Earth, comes from non-pretentious simple morsels of delights.
