Die Ciudad de las Artes y de las Ciencias (kat./val. Ciutat de les Arts i de les Ciències, dt. Stadt der Künste und der Wissenschaften) ist ein kultureller und architektonischer Gebäude- und Parkkomplex in Valencia, Spanien. Canada Place is an iconic landmark and venue for world-class events and inspirationally Canadian experiences, located in the heart of Vancouver’s waterfront. Canada Place is home port to the Vancouver-Alaska cruises, and houses Vancouver Convention Centre, Pan Pacific Hotel and World Trade Centre.
Buckingham Fountain is a Chicago landmark in the center of Grant Park. Dedicated in 1927, it is one of the largest fountains in the world. Built in a rococo wedding cake style and inspired by the Latona Fountain at the Palace of Versailles, it is meant to allegorically represent Lake Michigan. It operates from April to October, with regular water shows and evening color-light shows. During the winter, the fountain is decorated with festival lights.

La Torre del Agua fue uno de los puntos de mayor interés para los visitantes de la Expo tanto por su impresionante diseño como por la exposición que albergó en su interior: Agua para la vida. El espacio expositivo planteaba un recorrido en itinerario ascendente y descendente por medio de rampas que recorrían en su totalidad sus 73 metros de altura.
El edificio consta de dos zonas diferenciadas, la inferior está formado por tres plantas, de las que dos están enterradas y una, alzada sobre la rasante, forma la planta baja. Este zócalo sirve de base a la torre, cuyas fachadas de muro cortina acristalado se proyectan hacia el cielo.
Algunos de los elementos que caracterizan el edificio son la cortina de agua de 32 m de largo por 3 de alto situada en la entrada del zócalo y una espectacular fuente de agua-lluvia situada en su zona central. En el interior de la Torre, hueca, cuelga Splash, una escultura de 23 metros de altura que reproduce una salpicadura de agua. En la planta superior se situaba un bar panorámico.
Agua para la vida es el título de la exposición que el visitante pudo ver durante la Expo 2008. Desde un enfoque biocéntrico (los seres humanos pertenecemos a la naturaleza, y no a la inversa), el espacio pretendía hacer reflexionar sobre la importancia del agua como elemento esencial para la naturaleza y la supervivencia del planeta, y sobre la estrecha relación entre Naturaleza y Cultura.
Los medios audiovisuales y la iluminación tienen un papel fundamental en la forma de comunicar los contenidos, ya que no solo se trata de transmitir conceptos al visitante, sino también sensaciones y emociones. La muestra se organizaba en torno a los siguientes ejes temáticos: la cantidad de agua en el planeta siempre es la misma, la metamorfosis del agua, el agua se mueve, el poder creador del agua, somos agua, y agua, inspiradora del ser humano.

The Laugavegur is a famous trekking route in South-West Iceland from the hot springs area of Landmannalaugar to the glacial valley of Þórsmörk . It is noted for the wide variety of landscapes on its 55 km (34 mi) path. The route is typically completed over 2–4 days with potential stops at the mountain huts at Hrafntinnusker, Álftavatn, Hvanngil and Emstrur. An ultramarathon is held on the route each July. It is possible to combine the trek with the Fimmvörðuháls route which goes over the pass from Þórsmörk to Skógar for an additional one or two days or an additional 25 km (16 mi). Landmannalaugar, Þórsmörk, and Skógar are all reachable by bus during the summer. A bus from Hella connects with Álftavatn once a day during the summer.

Just as I arrived the fog did too.. This was the 1st shot, the rest did not turn out as my gear and lens just got soaked through with the fog... Very happy with this shot though. I like the way the fog flares the lights with streaks... Looking across Seaton from the link golf course....

Las Bardenas Reales de Navarra son una superficie extraterrestre fabricada en la Tierra por la conjunción de un terreno compuesto por arcillas, yesos y areniscas, que se extienden a lo largo y ancho de 42.000 hectáreas por el Sureste de Navarra y tres términos municipales de Aragón.
El agua y el viento han hecho, a lo largo de los siglos, que esa superficie rugosa, redondeada, con formaciones y surcos que parecen gigantescas venas, hayan ido conformando un paisaje que nos recuerde invariablemente el aspecto de las imágenes que hemos ido conociendo de la luna, Marte y otros planetas del sistema solar a los que el hombre ha ido enviando sucesivas expediciones, para fotografiarlos y conocer sus características físico-químicas.
Sabía desde hacía muchos años que experimentaría sensaciones peculiares cuando lograse visitar ese lugar... Y no me defraudó.
Si existe en la mente humana algo parecido al sentimiento de "soledad cósmica", esas dos palabras puestas una junto a la otra son las más precisas que se me ocurren para definir cómo me sentí durante el tiempo que pasé allí.
Pero hubo más.
Me sentí tan impelido a recorrer caminos y más caminos que, cuando llegó el momento, confieso que me costó salir de allí. Y no porque me hubiese perdido, sino porque alguna fuerza que desconozco me empujaba a quedarme y seguir recorriéndolos.
En ningún momento exerimenté ninguna sensación parecida al miedo, pero sí estuve permenentemente imbuido en una especie de seguridad de que estaba recorriendo una tierra "viva", que en algunos momentos me dio la impresión de estar en un casi imperceptible movimiento.
Contaré más anécdotas de aquellas dos jornadas en próximas imágenes... Y volveré allí, SEGURO!!!

Mt. Sinopah catches the sunrise nicely before the daily winds arrive to roil the waters of Pray Lake.
To the Blackfeet tribe the Two Medicine area was considered the "Backbone of the World" and were frequented during vision quests. They had it right as I'm always spiritually moved when here.

Es el ave montañera por excelencia. Acompañante habitual de todo aquel que se interna en las altas cumbres meditrerráneas.
El acentor alpino es el único representante de aves alpinas que habita en las cotas más altas de Sierra Espuña, ya que el resto de las aves representadas en las zonas mas altas son aves esteparias como la Collalba gris (Oenanthe oenanthe), la Alondra común (Alauda arvensis) y el Colirrojo tizón (Phoenicurus ochrurus).

This is the only representative of alpine birds that inhabit the higher reaches of the Sierra Espuña, since the rest of the birds represented in the highest areas are steppe birds such as the Northern Wheatear (Oenanthe oenanthe), the Eurasian Skylark (Alauda arvensis) and the Black Redstart (Phoenicurus ochrurus).

The fountain was cast in Paris and completed for the 1876 International Centennial Exhibition in Philadelphia, the same exhibit at which Bartholdi displayed the Statue of Liberty’s right arm and torch. Bartholdi had originally intended to complete the Statue of Liberty in 1876 in time for the Country's Centennial, but construction was delayed. While the remainder of the statue was being completed in Paris, Bartholdi displayed the arm and torch at the Philadelphia Exhibition, along with his commissioned fountain
It is a former estate garden featuring annuals, roses and wildflowers and an extensive rockery. It is located on Wilket Creek, one of the tributaries of the Don River West Branch. The estate's title was once held by Alexander Milne, a Scottish weaver who settled here after the War of 1812 and left in 1832. The land and the woolen/saw mills was obtained by Rupert E. Edwards in 1944 and created his country home. Edwards home was left in neglect and was purchased by the Municipality of Metro Toronto in 1955 and became Edwards Gardens in 1956.
