my thoughts often wander when i am out making photographs, particularly early in the day, a time which is out of my normal rhythm, and this particular morning, as the sky began to evolve, to do the unexpected things i've now come to expect, my mind immediately flew to stravinsky, to the firebird.
not quite matched in mood, this scene being much more serene, the connection, still, is a good one, i think. the clip is a long one, but not the full suite, and the bonus is that this is a HD clip from the sydney opera house, and the show there was quite amazing.

The prediction was that pearlescent clouds would be visible on Christmas Eve, but unfortunately too much and too thick clouds, so no pearlescent clouds.
De voorspelling was dat er parelmoerwolken zichtbaar zouden zijn op Kerst avond, maar helaas iets te veel en te dikke bewolking, dus geen parelmoerwolken.

Mid-day is the only time you can visit the Cabrillo tidepools without a special permit. The lighting is harsh in the summer, so this monochrome image focuses more on the textures of the rocks and waves in the intertidal zone.
Cabrillo National Monument is a small NPS managed unit that honors the landing of Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo, the leader of the first European expedition to explore the west coast of what would become the United States, in 1542. Cabrillo landed here and claimed the land for Spain, calling it San Miguel. Cabrillo died before his expedition returned to its base in Mexico, and a subsequent expedition, led by Sebastian Vizcaino 60 years later, renamed the port San Diego.

With the high wind warning yesterday, we went to Fifty Point hoping to see high waves and a dramatic sky. Instead it was very calm and still with a dull grey sky!
Saint Mary's Parish Church stands at the south west corner of Lindisfarne village on the tidal Holy Island of Lindisfarne. In some ways the church is dominated by the ruins, immediately to its east, of Lindisfarne Priory. The two share a common heritage and although St Mary's was for many centuries less important than its neighbour, it can now lay claim to standing on a site in use for Christian worship for some 1400 years.
This is taken from St Mary's churchyard looking through to the ruins of Lindisfarne Priory. Behind that and beyond the bay stands Lindisfarne Castle.

Trieste is a city and seaport in northeastern Italy. It is situated towards the end of a narrow strip of land lying between the Adriatic Sea and Italy's border with Slovenia, which lies almost immediately south and east of the city. Today, the city is in one of the richest regions of Italy, and has been a great centre for shipping, through its port (Port of Trieste), shipbuilding and financial services.

En ocasiones tenemos una idea preconcebida de una imagen, cierta composición que nos atrae, y esperamos que se produzca algo especial, pasan los días pero no obtenemos los resultados que esperábamos, derrepente un día ocurre eso que estábamos esperando y se produce tan rápidamente que o estamos preparados con todo dispuesto o se nos escapa, este es uno de esos procesos la luz comenzó a envolver los árboles de la zona izquierda de la composición otorgándoles un colorido para mi muy especial, pero el sol sólo permitió hacer apenas unas cuantas fotos en menos de 5 minutos este efecto ya se había evaporado y por suerte conseguí plasmarlo con bastante acierto en esta fotografia, espero les guste.

a few minutes before sunrise near Mucigliani shortly before a change in weather. I rarely saw such an almost apocalyptic sky (September 24, 2014, 6:53 am).
wenige Minuten vor Sonnenaufgang nahe Mucigliani kurz vor einer Wetteränderung. Selten sah ich einen solchen fast apokalyptischen Himmel (24.09.2014, 6:53 Uhr).
