Geschiedenis
De molen bemaalde de polder Zuidzijde, Hofwegen en Ruijbroek. Het betreft hier een vervijzelde molen. In 1898 werd de molen verhoogd om een wiekenkruis met grotere vlucht te kunnen plaatsen.
In 1958 werd in het kader van de wet Bescherming Waterstaatswerken in Oorlogstijd (BWO) het open scheprad vervangen door een vijzel, die ook door een elektromoter kon worden aangedreven. Tevens werden er toen fokwieken aangebracht. De molen is momenteel in gebruik als reserve-gemaal

Antheunis, Gustavus Henry
Bergen op Zoom 1879 - Gouda 1943.
Sculptor, painter. Antheunis lived and worked during his life several times in and outside Gouda, but after 1914 he settled permanently in Gouda. During the early 1930s, Antheunis made a model of a standing, praying woman for the Royal Plateelbakkerij Zuid Holland in Gouda both in matte white and decorated in bright blue. This example modeled as a bust, is covered in an olive green glaze and has the raised signature on the lower rear of the bust.

De kering, onderdeel van de Deltawerken, vormt samen met de Maeslantkering de Europoortkering en beschermt Rotterdam en achterland bij extreme waterstanden. De keringen worden een maal per jaar, voordat het stormseizoen begint, getest. Tijdens het sluiten van de kering ligt alle scheepvaartverkeer naar de Rotterdamse haven stil. In de achtergrond Botlekbrug en Shell-olieraffinaderij, Hoogvliet.

Mushrooms in various sizes at the Mildenburg Estate. The protected dune and nature reserve is exceptionally rich in many types of mushrooms in autumn. It's one of the most special characteristic of this area but it also shows how vulnerable this habitat of nature is.

Oostvoorne: Landgoed Mildenburg - Nature Photography
The "Landgoed Mildenburg" estate dates back to the sixteenth century. In the course of the 18th century, the Van Leyden van Leeuwen family built a country house and laid out the surrounding landscape still visible today. In even included a lighthouse and In the southwest corner of the site a variant of a starry forest with avenues and wooded areas, a copy of the labyrinth at Versailles according to an image by Charles Perrault from 1679.

De Zandmotor is een kunstmatig schiereiland (landtong), ontstaan door het opspuiten van zand voor de kust. Wind, golven en stroming zullen het zand langs de kust in noordelijke richting verspreiden waardoor verderop langs de kust bredere stranden en duinen ontstaan. De zandmotor is een experiment in het kader van kustonderhoud en kustverdediging.
