Their modern light monocoque construction interested the Eureka Williams Co. manufacturer of electric engines, which launched a design study called Henney Kilowatt. It never reached full production as components were too expensive.

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Twingo in 2023, Renault planned several operations, including the creation of a number of show cars based on Twingos converted to run on electric power, using the EV kit developed by R-Fit. These kept the original gearbox, but in place of the four-cylinder petrol engine, they were fitted with an electric motor, batteries and all the controls necessary for a set-up of this type. They are, however, prototypes which were granted individual vehicle approval and cannot in any way be registered for road use by a new owner.
This Twingo is one of these specially built vehicles. Inspired by the ‘boy band’ culture of the 1990s and 2000s, it applies the codes of the Y2K aesthetic, a name derived from the acronym for ‘Year 2K’ or ‘Year 2000’, attributed to the programmer David Eddy in reference to the year 2000 bug. In response to this retro-futuristic movement, this Twingo has a predominantly turquoise colour scheme, translucent elements such as the gear lever gaiter, computer typography for the Twingo logos, and seats and door cards covered in a shiny grey trim suggestive of a spacesuit ... Fitted with a transparent sunroof, this extremely original Twingo prototype stands out superbly from all the mass-produced examples.

More unusual among the various battery-electric buses to be seen in the Netherlands are a batch of Heuliez GX437 articulated examples on U-OV services in Utrecht with operator Qbuzz. Seemingly there are 35 of these in use, with more in Groningen. Heuliez is from the same stable as Iveco Bus, and there are some obvious styling cues from both Iveco's models and those from Irisbus. Here bus 4802 approaches Utrecht Centraal Station while working a 7 journey to Zuilen.
While First Bus leads in volume terms on the electrification of the Leicester bus fleet, both Arriva and Centrebus have smaller numbers of such vehicles. Arriva's so far are Wrightbus StreetDeck Electroliners, which are now in service after some delay caused by infrastructure issues. Unlike the First examples, these are low-height models and I believe were the first Electroliners to be built like that.
The green livery is that of the Leicester Buses partnership, which seems to be delivering good things and comes with claimed significant patronage increases via vehicle investment from operators and local authority efforts that include priority measures, real-time stop displays, multi-operator ticketing and so on. That is salient lesson against a political backdrop that increasingly holds franchising as the only worthwhile reform avenue for bus services, something that had loudened considerably since the coming of a Labour government, although how such widespread franchising is to be paid for remains a mystery. Here 8012 (BK73 AED) passes Leicester railway station while working a 48 to South Wigston.

Aquestes fotos corresponen al tall de Barcelona al carrer Aragó, a la Plaça Letamendi.
El tall es fa per mostrar que les ciutats poden ser més sostenibles, més habitables i amb diferents usos. No només el pas dels cotxes, l'espai que ocupen i la contaminació que generen.

El domingo 28 de febrero se hicieron cortes en varias ciudades. Estas fotos corresponden al corte de Barcelona en la plaza Letamendi, calle Aragón.
El corte se hace para mostrar que las ciudades pueden ser más sostenibles, más habitables y con diferentes usos. No sólo el paso de los coches, el espacio que ocupan y la contaminación que generan.
MASSA CRÍTICA FEMINISTA
La Massa crítica vol reivindicar per unes hores i un cop al mes, que els carrers podrien ser més oberts per a tothom, més pacífics, i demostra que hi ha gent que per perdre 2 minuts, 3 minuts, 5 minuts, es pot tornar boja i perdre els nervis, digne d'estudi.
La MASSA CRÍTICA és un esdeveniment que es realitza cada mes a diferents ciutats del món. És una sortida mensual en bici per reclamar els drets del ciclista i promoure un model de ciutat sostenible. Tambè oberta a rollers, skaters i qualsevol altra forma de desplaçar-se que comparteixi aquesta idea.
No és una manifestació ni una organització, només persones, homes o dones, joves o gent gran anat en bicicleta. Tampoc és una cursa. És una manera d’establir un espai públic on les persones puguin reunir-se, i coneixe’s.
És reclamar aquell espai a la calçada que el cotxe ha usurpat en aquests anys.

La MASA CRÍTICA es un evento que tiene lugar todos los meses en numerosas ciudades del mundo. Es una salida mensual en bici para reclamar los derechos del ciclista y promover un modelo de ciudad sostenible. También abierta a skaters, rollers o cualquier otra forma de moverse que comparta esta idea.
No es una manifestación ni una organización, sólo personas, hombres o mujeres, jóvenes o personas mayores montando en bicicleta. Tampoco es una carrera. Es una manera de establecer un espacio público donde la gente pueda juntarse, reunirse y conocerse.
Es reclamar ese espacio en la calzada que el coche ha usurpado en estos años.

Dins de les activitats dels 30 dies en bici Barcelona, els fotògrafs Xavi Calvo @calvox i Sergi Periche @sergiperiche ens unim per realitzar un projecte fotogràfic anomenat 'Retrats ciclistes' on descubrirem diferents perfils de persones ciclistes, on la bici gira al voltant de la seva vida, ja siguin ciclistes de tota la vida o de fa un any, urbans o esportius, mes o menys actius, sense importar sexe o edat.

''Vas amb bicicleta i rius. Ets feliç. Et sents més lliure. Sempre li dic als altres: 'T'has de compraruna bicicleta, ja veuràs com et canviarà la vida!' "
Per a un fotògraf, o dos en aquest cas, sempre és una sort que et citin al barri del Born per
fer unes fotos. I avui així ha estat. Vam quedar amb Rut Vidal davant de Santa Maria del
Mar per a un retrat més. No va ser difícil trobar on fotografiar a la Rut amb la seva
Brompton. I tampoc va ser difícil trobar on prendre unes cerveses després de la sessió de
fotos per entrevistar a la Rut per a què ens expliqui la seva història com a ciclista.
Rut és dissenyadora i infografista i en una altra vida, arquitecta de l'antic Egipte. Així es
defineix. I des del 2012, quan es compra la Brompton, s'està construint com a ciclista...
1.- Abans de la Brompton anaves amb bici?
Era usuària del bicing però era una mica desastre per horaris. La Brompton va ser una cosa
desitjada. No havia tingut bicicleta pròpia. De fet, l'única bici que havia entrat a casa era una compartida amb els meus germans quan tenia 6-7 anys.
2.- Per què has triat aquest lloc?
Perquè aquí va ser un inici a nivell personal. Vaig entrar en una crisi personal, és quan em
separo, deixo la feina i m’estableixo pel meu compte en un despatx aquí al barri del Born.
Comença una nova etapa. És quan també decideixo comprar-me la Brompton. I
arran de comprar-me la bici començo a conèixer molta gent. Començo a apuntar-me a
sortides, començo a assistir a la Massa Crítica. A relacionar-me una mica dins d'aquest
món. Des de llavors la bici és com una fugida. Sempre dic que la bicicleta m'ha canviat la
vida. Ha estat un punt de suport. L'excusa per sortir de casa era sempre la bicicleta. De cop
també m’obro a la ciutat, m'integro al barri ...
3.- ¿Ara no vius a Barcelona?
Visc a Sant Pol de Mar. Sempre he tingut la il·lusió de venir a Barcelona a viure però a
mesura que passa el temps i veient el preu dels lloguers ara no estaria disposada a pagar
tant a canvi de perdre qualitat de vida. Estic millor encara que perdi cada dia dues hores de
viatge. He treballat i estudiat a Barcelona, però mai he viscut aquí. Per baixar a Barcelona
sempre amb tren. Cada dia carrego la Brompton al tren i després vaig en bici fins a la feina.
Per la ciutat només em desplaço amb bici o caminant.
4.- Com és el pas de començar a anar amb la Brompton i acabar participant a la Massa
Crítica?
Al final comences a conèixer gent. Un dia coneixes el club Veni Vidi i t'apuntes a una sortida
amb ells. Un altre dia coneixes els de Bicicultura... Al final és tot com una gran família. Vagis
on vagis amb la bici, t'acabes trobant amb les mateixes persones. I així un dia decideixes
anar a la Massa Crítica i repeteixes.
5.- Què implica ara per a tu la bicicleta?
Ara la Brompton forma part de mi. Abans era més com un objecte, com un desig. Però en el
moment que ja forma part de tu, ja relaciones la ruta amb la Brompton. Ara implica aquest
moment de desconnexió, d'alliberament... Si vas amb bicicleta i no et surt un somriure... Vas
amb bicicleta i rius. Ets feliç. Et sents més lliure. Sempre li dic als altres "T'has de comprar
una bicicleta, ja veuràs com et canviarà la vida!".
6.- Parlem dels 30 dies en bici ...
Sí, vaig signar el compromís. Per anar a la feina, zero emissions. No agafar el cotxe cap dia
per anar a treballar. Bé, allà a Sant Pol, sí que he d'agafar el cotxe per anar a comprar i per
què em desplaço molt d'un poble a un altre. Però és molt més fàcil no tenir cotxe a
Barcelona que si vius en un poble.
7.- Quan vas conèixer els 30 dies amb bici?
L'any passat, en la festa de la bicicleta o instagram, no recordo bé, però no em vaig
inscriure. Però com que sóc molt assídua a instagram, penjo de tant en tant fotos posant el
hastag i així participo i ajudo als altres perquè hi participin també.
8.- Com veus la convivència amb altres ciclistes, cotxes ...?
És una qüestió de respecte i educació. El que és mal educat és mal educat a peu, en
bicicleta i en cotxe. Va amb la manera de ser de les persones. A diferència del 2012, hi ha
més carrils bici actualment i això em dóna més confiança. Ara pels matins quan vaig en bici,
hi ha trànsit, em trobo caravanes de bicicletes.
