Major change has come to the bus fleet in the Dutch city of Leiden over the past couple of years, with from the looks of it most vehicles replaced in that period. The urban streetBuzz fleet now has a good number of Iveco battery-electrics in use, operated by Qbuzz. Here 8252 (45-BZZ-1) is in the city centre while working a 5 to Voorschoten. It is a Crossway ELEC LE12, to give the bus its full model name.

No doubt what this bus is - it carries a Wright New Routemaster style SRM body. Some information on this vehicle is to be found on page 10 of the September 2017 issue of BUSES Magazine. On trade plates it is giving rides around the internal circuit of the British Motor Museum at Gaydon.

Battista "Pinin" Farina, the famous Italian cachbuilder always dreamt of creating a car bearing his name. In March 2019, Automobili Pininfarina unveiled the Battista. The Battista will be an all-electric hyper GT car to clients from 2020. 90 years after Battista founded Carrozzria Pininfarina, the Battista will be launched as Italy's most powerful and fastest car. Paolo Pininfarina, Michael Perschke, CEO of Automobili Pininfarina and Mahindra & Mahindra Chairman, Anand Mahindra, confirm that the limited-edition hypercard Battista will be the fastest and most powerful car ever designed and produced in Italy. Power and torque equate to 1.900 hp and 2.300 Nm respectively, meaning the Battista has the potential to accelerate to 100 km/h in less than 2 seconds, faster than a Formula 1 car, and break the 250 mph top speed barrier - all with a potential zero emissions range of over 300 miles. No more than 150 Battistas will be available from late-2020.

EQ : The new brand for electric mobility.
At the Paris Motor Show, Mercedes-Benz will unveil its new product brand for electric mobility : EQ. The name EQ stands for “Electric Intelligence” and is derived from the Mercedes-Benz brand values of “Emotion and Intelligence”. The new brand encompasses all key aspects for customer-focused electric mobility and extends beyond the vehicle itself. EQ offers a comprehensive electric mobility ecosystem of products, services, technologies and innovations. The spectrum ranges from electric vehicles to wallboxes and charging services to home energy storage units.
The new brand is heralded by the close-to-production concept vehicle “Generation EQ”, which will celebrate its world premiere in Paris. The first series-produced EQ model will be launched in the SUV segment before the end of this decade.
EQ: Clear orientation for customers.
The EQ portfolio will encompass all future battery-electric cars as well as the associated products and services from Mercedes-Benz. In this way, the inventor of the motorcar is providing a simple and transparent means of orientation for customers within its ever expanding portfolio. The EQ brand is therefore the next logical step in the sales and marketing strategy “Best Customer Experience”.
Mercedes-Benz already offers a suitable charging infrastructure for electric cars, including a wallbox as a fast-charging station for the home, the free app “Charge&Pay” for convenient recharging at public charging stations as well as – for home-owners and businesses – stationary energy storage units for power generated by photovoltaic or solar systems. All these products and services will in the future be bundled under EQ. In this way, Mercedes-Benz is creating a consistent and clear image for sustainable products and services with the star.

45003 still docked at Convention Center Station. I was hoping to get a ride on it. Unfortunately after layover it had some sort of issue with the brake not releasing due to a charger or door glitch, so the operator was advised to cancel the trip and wait for a tech to come sign off on the bus before it could run in service again.
