This is the negative of " Autumn Framed " ... I almost think I like it better than the original. :) ...... Hope every one will have a happy, healthy, & safe week end! :)

trying some new patterns

The last one, I promise! ... Don't know why I kept seeing faces & hats with the strings that honey drew for me for this challenge, but I did! ... So this one's a bit out there, but I swear there are pics of my sweet ( departed ) Mother in law with friends at thier lunchens that were ALL wearing some of the wildest hats you've ever seen! So this is a tribute to her & the ladie's that lunched back in the 50's! :) ... just done with Faber Castell soft lead black pencil :)

This is just the Negative of " Arizona ", ... never know what you'll get, but I thought the colors were pretty enough to share. :)

Shades of pink have always been some of my favorites too, tinted negative from the original black & white.:)

just a couple of simple flowers I drew quickly last night, so today I gave them the gel pen treatment :)

prompt from page 34 of "Zen Doodle".

Drawn on 9 x 12 paper with Pigma Micron and Faber Castell Pitt artist pens and shaded with pencil. The scan did not pick up on the shading very well.

still in tangle mode...

Micron pen on watercolor paper. Will be for trade at the Zentangle Certification Course in October 2011.

8 & 1/2 x 11 ... 0.1mm Helix pen , pencil shading ... this is the original B&W ... but you know me , had to play in my photo program ... did 4 different versions/ colors ... did'nt want to post them all , but if you would like to see it in brown negative or in blue ( has the look of vintage blue & white china ) it's in my photo stream ... :) .... WOULD LIKE TO SEND OUT A GREAT BIG THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU FOR YOUR WONDERFUL COMMENTS ON THIS PIECE ... I'VE GOT A LOT GOING ON HERE NOW AND AS MUCH AS I'D LIKE TO SEND EACH ONE OF YOU A REPLY, I JUST CAN'T ... SO HOPE YOU WON'T THINK I'M TERRIBLE FOR POSTING MY THANK YOU'S TO YOU ALL THIS WAY! ;)

Since the art studio was where Sleepy Cat was born, he tends to spend a lot of happy time there. Here he is, enjoying the plants we have recently had to move in from outside! And through it all, all he did was sleep!

Rotring rapidograph + copic

8 1/2 X 11 black card stock , I used some cheap Metallic markers that I had forgotten all about & Colored gold shadow jelly roll pens ... took about 2 hrs. start to finish & that's counting the two times I dozed off with pen & hand, & then had unplanned marks on my paper that I had to work into the design ... I should know better at my age not to eat dinner & then tangle! :)

Accomplished for the "Inspire, Inspire" art journal prompt, "By My Hands".

The result of this eve's mindless movie watching doodle session... ;) Very necessary sometimes :)

My 'solution' to TanglePatterns.com Zentangle string, 002. Copic Multiliner, Copic Markers, on Strathmore mixed media paper, 3.5 x 3.5 inches. Original art © Kyra Sanders

Done with the sketchbook doodle, time to get back to the painting ;)

Ink and pencil crayon on paper

11x14"

The last one for awhile, promise! .... This one was hiding, amazing what you find when you start moving things in a neglected studio! I did get a little work done in there today :) ... If anyone is really interested in these markers, I saw them at Target today ... I also picked up a set of " Crayola Fabric Markers" 8 in a set for $ 5.48 ... going to get a pair of white Keds & give it a try, should be fun! ;)

Added a little colour and sparkle with a gel pen

This piece measures 8 1/2 x 5 in. , Just grabbed a piece of printer paper & started drawing! ... Done with Prisma markers, Derwent watercolor pencils ( used dry ) , prisma colored pencils, Derwent matallic colored pencils, matallic ball point pens & white jellyroll pen ... whew! , Don't think I left anything out ... this is the way it scanned in, pretty vivid colors! ... I'm trying to stay cool here, even with A.C. it's a challenge when you are up & moving around ... it's like a steamy jungle outside tho, so I am staying right where I am! ... Hope you are all well in this weather, in just a couple of months we will be back to cold temps & snow! :) THANKS TO ALL OF YOU FOR THE SWEET COMMENTS , THEY ALWAYS MEAN SO MUCH TO ME! :)

(Note: Step 3. should be labeled "Tiles". And "Tessellations" has two Ls.)

:)

I've always been fascinated by M.C.Escher and tessellations. Here's a simple way to make your own.

Any grid will work: triangles, squares, diamonds, rectangles, hexagons, etc. To really mix it up, do a different squiggle on each side of the tile. The key is to be sure the lines meet at the corners of each tile.

Since I'm not so good with a pen, I'm looking forward to seeing what someone with skill can do with this!

A zentangle pattern I created. Hope you enjoy playing around with it! >^..^<

Sadly these are the only images I have of my little Moleskine notebook, which I carelessly left in the back of the seat in front of me on a day out when we were in Malaysia earlier this year. My Name and address were in the front, but it's never come home. So sad. I've barely tangled since then. Time, as much as anything, but I almost feel like I'm looking out the window for a long-gone friend, expecting them to walk up the pathway....

How daft is that!?!!

I'm sure I'll get my act together soon and get tangling again. :@)

Canson Mi-Teintes Paper, Black Micron Pigma Pen, Shading is General's White Pastel Pencil & Black Gelly Roll Pen by Sakura using watercolor technique.

I still have swirly lines in my head, so I had to incorporate them into these tangle pieces. I start off with a swirly line, then work the piece around it.
