Made another rendition of the Dare. Plan to use it on a card. It is the smaller size (appx 4" x 4")

Another mini-Zendala with LaBocca and Hurry variations.

Created using Template #3 from

Amaryllis Creations

I used my PaperLatern pattern in this one. :-)

On this tile is the tangles Spoken, Betweed, Printemps and 'Nzeppel.

Zendala sized tile, drawn with micron pen. Tangles: Betweed, tipple, fescu, ennies (var) Becki (var) Ragz (var, and auras. Shaded with graphite.

I do Zendalas infrequently as to me there seems too many decisions to be made!

The most recent #mandala creation

My first entry in "The Bright Owl's Zendala Dare" (thebrightowl.blogspot.co.uk/2012/08/zendala-dare-20.html). Took me over the week, but glad to be tangling. :@)

I thought this was finished, but added a tiny bit more...

This weeks Zendala Dare from Erin Olson at The Bright Owl is "to make a Zendala that represents Fall or Halloween or both." My entry is drawn on orange scrapbook paper with Micron .005 Pen and colored with fine-line and Tombrow pens. Thanks for viewing. A comment is always appreciated. Happy Halloween!! : )

This week's Zendala Dare is a tribute to Thanksgiving. Erin, at The Bright Owl, has set a challenge to use tangles starting with the letters "P,I,E" as pie is very representative of the food served at Thanksgiving dinner. She further challenged us to use at least one tangle we have not used before.

This ZIA was indeed a challenge for me. Finding tangles starting with the letters indicated seemed difficult, mostly because the tangles I was finding starting with those letters didn't appeal to me or fit in the Zendala; and using Tangles I've never drawn before seemed a challenge as I had to search for some new tangles. However, I managed to find a number of tangles. I used Pomegrante, Paradox, Isochor (a new tangle for me, found on Debra Castaldi's blog, Mainley Tangles), Peak Borders (another new tangle found on Suzanne McNeill's blog) and Eanovo (a variation - since I made a mistake initially and had to figure of way to continue without having to start over. I'm sure you all know how that one feels.) Eanovo is a tangle I found on Sandra Strait's (also known as molossus) Flickr page; it is also a tangle I have never drawn before. I enjoyed the process of making this Zendala, despite my apprehension, and time spent hunting down tangles, I am pleased with my choices and how my Zendala turned out. I hope you agree.

Thanks for viewing and I do hope you'll comment. : D

Still catching up on dares I missed.

Even if you're not up to the challenge, you can view some incredible submissions! I highly recommend.

Thanks for looking.

and more...

you can see a couple of pencil sketched ideas. I don't do this for everything, just a couple to get the feel, and see if I like the shape

thanks for your interest :)

My first Zendala and my first attempt at using color. The paper was a tad too thin for the ink but it will do :) (Worked on this most evenings the last few days) By way of thebrightowl.blogspot.com/2013/09/zendala-dare-72-through...

micron pens, Bic ultra fine markers, pencil shading

White Zendala with blue watercolor wash. I used a "snowflake" as string and found the small spaces quite challenging.

Zendala Dare #28 from Erin at The Bright Owl. Tangles: Ixorus, Paradox, Mooka, Buttercup, Bateek (var), and a simple daisy drawing. Colored with Irogiten colored pencils.

I haven't posted work in a while, but I have been working on a series of Mandalas/Zendalas. Feel free to share your thoughts. It's great to be sharing artwork again! Best, Lisa Rene.

This is my first try at a proper zentangle within a circle.

Here is my second attempt at this week's dare. Details and other entries can be found at: thebrightowl.blogspot.com/

So . . . do you ever get so engrossed in your tangling that you forget to stand back and look at it? I mean REALLY LOOK AT IT? And then you say to yourself, "Holy Cow! I just drew a circle of checkered baseball caps!" Because that's what this one looks like and I'm just scratching my head . . . oh well!

Enjoy.

This week we were asked use tangles where the first letter of each would spell "HOT" or "HEAT" because we are right in the sweaty summer months.

I chose four tangles to spell "HEAT". I used tangles that I've not used before.

Getting ready to teach a Zendala class. New Zentangle black Zendalas

Mini-Zendalas on 3' circles punched out of watercolour paper - preparing for a demonstration this Sunday. It will be a pancake brunch, hence circles :)

I'm way behind in challenges, zendala dares, and commenting on other artists' art. I'll do the best I can to catch up, starting with this week's Diva Challenge. It focused on "Beads of Courage", which is a chartity that helps children with chronic illnesses to keep track of the milestones in their medical journey with pretty beads. Artoo just turned two years old, and is a little trouper with many challenges, so these are all dedicated to him.

This Zendala was created as a tribute to Rick Roberts and Maria Thomas, the creators of Zentangle. I am so grateful to them for developing this form of meditation and creativity! I colored the center gold because I think that Rick, Maria, Erin and the entire Zentangle community have "heARTS of gold" to share their talents so generously.
