More rain today, and after a lunchtime thunderstorm it has settled in for the afternoon and evening. This heron was undeterred by the weather and prowled the banks of the lake behind the villa before catching a huge fish which he swallowed whole - before returning to stalk for more fish.

The Royal Procession arrives past Ascot Heliport and heads into the racecourse from here. This year the Queen is without Prince Philip, who is recovering from an operation, but is joined in the Royal Carriage by Prince Charles and Camilla.

Surely a job given to an apprentice for a joke - cleaning a steam train. Once it moves from the yard it'll be covered in oil, soot and assorted grime again and he'll have to do it all again. Nice thorough job though on the City of Peterborough!

A kid walks down the pier sheltered by his umbrella while someone else shelters on the bench and uses her mobile phone. The fisherman still hasn't moved from his shelter in the distance either - the fish probably aren't interested in this weather.

Sitting at Yarwell Station waiting for Thomas to move from one end of the train to the other. Shortly after he passed down our side we were informed by the conductor we would have to change trains as Thomas had "brake problems" limiting his journey. Runaway train?!

This Hawker 800 was a very late arrival on Thursday evening and typically departed just as I was doing the handover. I just had time to bolt the 1.7x teleconverter onto the 70-200 and run to the balcony, this is the best shot I got.
