I did TRY and tell him the little sheep track was not the right one. I could hardly keep my feet on the ground here! ( they always know best) so hence an out of focus ,quickly snapped peep around the steep side of the fell.....then back down the narrow track to get back en route!

A South Fork crew and their six pack of 80MAC's has finished up loading a coal train at Sonman just east of Portage, PA. After backing out the connection at Bens Creek, the crew reverses and heads west on Main 1. Currently signaled for eastbound movements only, the operation requires a track authority for the run west. With their impending demise in the next 72 hours, this will be my last shot of the MP 258 signals.

Yesterday was a wild day for me. This is an island out in a swamp area a good distance. First time a friend & I found it the sun angle was all wrong and washed our photos. This time it was cloud cover and I walked a third of the distance out in leg weighters with a 5 gal. pail to not only sit on [while surrounded by water] but to carry my equipment [that I covered in clear plastic bags sealed] to get closer. Yes I'm crazy as this could have gone horribly bad.
It's another full day of rain here, people - and I have covid, which has rather taken the shine off Christmas yet again.
Still - on a short, distanced morning excursion before the rain began, there was this: taken with all the camera settings wrong, a grabbed shot of this family group leaving the beach, Christmas walk cut short by the onset of rain.
The effect comes from shooting through the windscreen of my van.

I was taking my daily walk when suddenly I came across this gorgeous golden retriever, (well, I think he is a golden retriever, but I could be wrong) and he was staring right at me.
So I went over to say hello to his owner and she gave me the opportunity to photograph this beautiful dog.
I then learned that his name was "Turrón". (That is to say: "nougat", a sweet that in Spain and other countries is especially enjoyed at Christmas.)
The Golden Retriever is considered an intelligent, gentle natured and very affectionate breed of dog.
As is typical with retriever breeds, the breed is generally calm and biddable, being very easy to train and extremely keen to please their master.
The breed is known to make excellent pets and family dogs, being generally extremely tolerant of children and keen to accompany any member of the family in a range of activities.
Due to their affable natures, the breed is often completely devoid of guarding instincts.
The Golden Retriever was bred by Sir Dudley Marjoribanks at his Scottish estate Guisachan in the late nineteenth century.
He cross-bred Flat-coated Retrievers with Tweed Water Spaniels, with some further infusions of Red Setter, Labrador Retriever and Bloodhound. (Source: Wikipedia)

Estaba dando mi paseo diario cuando de pronto me encontré a este precioso golden retriever, (bueno, creo que es de esa raza, pero podrÃa estar equivocado) y él me estaba mirando fijamente.
Asà que me acerqué a saludar a su ama y me concedió la oportunidad de retratar a esta belleza de perro.
Entonces supe que su nobre era "Turrón".
El golden retriever se considera una raza de perro inteligente, de naturaleza apacible y muy cariñosa.
Como es tÃpico en las razas retriever, la raza es generalmente tranquila y dócil, es muy fácil de entrenar y está muy dispuesta a complacer a su amo.
Se sabe que la raza es excelente como mascota y perro de familia, ya que suele ser muy tolerante con los niños y está dispuesta a acompañar a cualquier miembro de la familia en una variedad de actividades.
Debido a su naturaleza afable, la raza a menudo carece por completo de instintos de protección.
El golden retriever fue criado por Sir Dudley Marjoribanks en su finca escocesa de Guisachan a fines del siglo XIX.

It was around this time that we realized we were going in the wrong direction. I suppose it didn't really make a difference, but it was amusing.

Yesterdays sunset in Uppsala was majestic!!!
I was going home after the evening shopping with full bags of goodies. After long day I was mostly concentrated on the road. When I notice that the lighting changed.
It was all coloured with magenta, orange and red.
The idea crossed my mind - I am close to home, I need to drop my bags and pursue this beauty. But, I quickly realized it can cost me precious colours, so I went with all the goodies ;)
At the area of Flogsta I was happy with the scenery, so I stopped, opened my bag and dig out the camera. Couple of seconds latter the car came down the road fulfilling my frame perfectly ;)
Held at gun point by the police riot squad after a fight gone wrong in prison. I’m not hurt, but that knife with my fingerprints might give me some problems…

Why Gulls? Truth be known, gulls are very entertaining to watch. Although I realize they are not the most "prettiest" of birds, they certainly can keep my attention -- at least long enough to grab action shots like this one.
Paperwork sorted HF64BSU Go North West 6170 the first of the former dual door ex Blue Star Volvo B7RLE’s entered service this evening on the 97/98 routes, shame it made its Manchester debut on the wrong route though as it's branded for the 41.

EC2528 races down hill on the wrong road as NP24 from Armidale.
Just prior to lunch time, a coal train was pulled up for having sticking brakes. The coal road was stopped until the fault was rectified, which also held up the UP main with other rail traffic, leaving the DOWN main clear for passenger services to operate bidirectional.

UP North Train 185 parks at the Ravenswood station on its way to Kenosha.
Due to track construction on the line, this train is operating 'wrong main' and is stopping at what is usually the inbound platform. Though, on a typical railway, this would be the normal running direction. Just the usual quirkiness of the former CNW.
