I headed off up a mountain today and ended up on the wrong one but It did not matter as these views are amazing from here. The dusty look is actually pollen from the pine trees blowing in the wind. The ridge I should have been on is the horitontal one roughly mid photo.

The wrong side of the tracks; a poor or less prestigious part of town.

The expression, American in origin, comes from the idea of a town divided by a rail-road track.

In 1929 , Thorne Smith wrote ‘In most commuting towns…there are always two sides of which the tracks serve as a line of demarcation. There is the right side and the wrong side. Translated into terms of modern American idealism, this means, the rich side and the side that hopes to be rich.’

Second time this working has happened, and in case it gets subbed I managed to get it first thing. If it's still out later I will try for a better shot because the lighting's all wrong in this one!

Still, pleased I got it this time, and how odd it looks!

Next time when I build an office I will read the material specifications..

I was taking a shot like this, this morning, before 7am…

The road sweeper was looking at me and smiling: “Ah, so you take even shots of them!”

I didn’t answer and I was ready to move forward…

I’m not so happy to be watched when I shoot…

And then comes out the enemy!

(in parenthesis my thoughts)

A man, almost 60: stop! Stop breaking the …(I omit, he wasn’t a gentleman)…

And I was going away…saying: we didn’t do anything wrong…

The “man”: can you read the sign? Can you read? No dogs…

Me: but we do not… (I mean no one there, just 2 minutes, no one dies…)

The “man”: your dogs pissing here….

Me: no… (we were taking shots!)

The “man”: oh you do, every morning I see you from my window… (then he is blind)

Me: they don’t do anything…

The “man”: ok so let’s call the environmentalists… (ignorant! Prepare your accusation!)

Me: and now who are they?

I was going away…

Shocked…

I know he was right about the sign, it’s a no dogs place but OMG, if he asked me normally “could you respect the law?” I would just go away…but treating me like a stupid….

And it’s not the first time!

I can read my dear, you look like a ignorant…boor!

And then what are you doing every morning looking at me from your window?

Nothing better to do?

What do you have to do in this spot of grass that I make it so dirty for you?

And if I was an old lady with a Chiwawa or a strong man with a Pitbull? What would you do?

And I am a environmentalist…

And what about the sweeper? Not saying a word?

I do not need a defender but I think I could be there dying in the street and people would just turn away…

I was in the wrong place at the wrong time

By the wrong reason and the wrong rhyme

On the wrong day of the wrong week

Used the wrong method with the wrong technique

A small waterfall in Matthiessen State Park that I've never been to before. I took a wrong turn as you come down the stairs into the canyon and walked along the ice until I came to a dead end and this nice little frozen waterfall.

Sometimes the power and lighting is correct when you line up your shot, only to have the train lined for the lesser track. Such was the case here. This ED9 was out of Ayer and making good time, even with a pickup in Gardner. That's when the trouble started. I arrived at this location with plenty of time to spare. Then the B&M-era searchlight signal in the distance lit up for an eastbound. Bad news - that meant my train would be held at Tyter's, and I was staring at an hour wait. Good news - the light would be good for track 2. Really good. So of course they were lined for track 1, the slow track. Whatever, at least I had the correct leader. Taken June 20, 2021

O wow, only God can keep them safe until Spring..

Mount Adams, as seen from Mount Rainier.

As I mentioned in my last post, Rainier was covered in clouds all day long. After hiking a decent ways up at Paradise, I turned around and saw a great view of Mount Adams in the distance, with (of course) no clouds blocking the view. Hmm, maybe I went to the wrong mountain that day?
