The main entrance to the former facility. Camp X-Ray was only used to detail prisoners of war for 4 months. In its previous, much smaller, version, it was used to detain misbehaving migrants.

One of the nicest bottles around copying the old pirate design of rumbottles. Nice tangy orangy rum, that I finished. Rather than throwing out the bottle I poured my Abuelo 7 years into it. Heavy glass with bubbles in it.
Read a writeup here.
Took a bunch of pics from my walk the other day. It was SO beautiful out. Spring has sprung. :-)))
But just the trees are starting to bloom. The plants haven't started yet.
And... I dug out my old digital camera from 2007! No iPhone this time. But it has the same resolution as the iPhone. (DPI) Oh well. I'm experimenting with it anyways. Gotta re-read the manual & my writeup of it. It does lots of stuff the iPhone doesn't.
this guy who writes blogs on the BrooWaha came to open studios and wrote a bit on me! you can find the whole article here:

or heres the part on me!:
"Scaled back from her Graduate Thesis show “Transport, Transform,” Heather Rasmussen turned shipping containers – objects too large to be made by hand – into playthings in her studio. By downsizing these hulking containers to hand-held, geometric pawns, she was like Godzilla playing Tetris on a busy container yard.
Godzilla imbued with her rational mind, of course. Rasmussen arranged the colored blocks in rows and columns according to satellite stills taken of shipyards at the Port of Los Angeles. To add to the spirit of the “game,” she tacked a tally sheet to her studio wall as a scorekeeping mechanism, as if to show which colors were “winning” or “losing.”
In reality, these multi-ton containers are color-coded to identify which shipping company each belongs to. Maritime trade is big business, and Rasmussen knows this as well as anyone. Her exhibit succeeds because it taps into what LEGO has always known: interacting with objects is fun.
And it’s supposed to be fun. Freed from proselytizing or ticking points off an agenda, Rasmussen invited us to remember when couches were forts and bathtubs were tugboats. Back when sharing our objects was a virtue. "

The narrow end of the pipe connector is going to be connected to the camera; to maximise the usability of the lens, we want the narrow end to be as short as is practical. The general idea is to put the t-mount adapter into the narrow end, and to use the pipe clip to secure it into place.
Slide the pipe clip as far along as it can go along the connector, and score using a hobby knife around the edge of it that is going to be attaching to the camera. Remove the clip, and cut along the score line (again, a hobby knife will do the job here) to chop off the top of the connector. Keep the cut as perpendicular to the surface as possible.
My T-mount adapter was a little than two inches on its external diameter, and the connector itself is designed with a two inch fitting on its narrow end. With a bit of careful levering, the adapter can be wedged into the connector. Whilst it is a good fit, it's a good idea to the pipe clamp back on and screw it tightly into place. Last thing you need is the adapter falling apart when it is on the camera :P

(extracted from WuOpera writeup)
From MAGfest, a music and gaming con in Alexandria. Working on a We Love DC writeup for Wednesday, so, you know, check back there later.
Doing the writeup for this shot really got me thinking about how much Jessie has grown up. Kids grow up too darn fast don't they? Makes me a little sad at times. I'm having a lot of fun with Jessie at this age, but I can't help but miss her at each of the other stages from this mosaic. I remember each of those time periods like they were yesterday.
Anyways, I think this mosaic not only shows the progression of Jessie but also myself as a photographer. I'm by no means a pro, but I think it's evident that with each passing year, the quality of my pictures gets a little better.
