Museum Writeup: "In the Early Byzantine period, the burning of incense, common during Christian church services, also accompanied private worship in the home. The aromatic scent honored God and the saints, and was also thought to ward off evil spirits. This hanging censer (incense burner) was intended for private devotion, as is clear from the Greek inscription that names its owner, a woman."

I felt today is the right day to upload this flower with pentagonal symmetry. It was five years ago, same date as today (14th June) that I started my career as a software engineer. It was my first job and somehow I've held on to it all these years. Call it endurance or perseverance or plain adhesion, it has been a really long time.

Today there is an odd sense of maturity which I am not used to. The child in me still tries to pull me back whilst time keeps pushing me further. It still feels like yesterday if I remember my initial days of work. Today I am in a heightened state of nostalgia. I feel I have climbed far too high if I look at the ground beneath. But there is a constant fear and evidence of losing the ones who were with me during the initial rungs of life.

Incidents and people, good and bad alike have been forgotten. Old wounds have healed and made way for new ones. Perspectives and opinions have changed. I am no exception. Today I am an all new person, if not a better one.

I dedicate this picture to all my mates who were (and still are) a part of this saga.

1931- The Tower's write-up on the season could be Exhibit-A for the writing style of the era, and for an appreciation for how the game has changed in the years since then. Take note of how the Prep latched on to the new "Western system" of play, helping the team emerge victorious "over its plucky high school rivals."
