Believe it or not, there were tons of people in costumes that weren't Disney related. Somehow I ended up mostly taking pictures of people who were.

This was taken on our first day at sea.. we saw two different 500+ strong pods of Short Beaked Common Dolphins. 500 doesn't make a 'Super Pod' that has to be 1000 but considering I saw 2 x 500, technically I saw a super pod but in 2 halves!!

Excerpt from "Norman Rothschild reports from L/A: A new SLR, a distributor who develops products, a pro who builds his own cameras, and more" (Page 130-133 and continued 66, 68, 72).

Popular Photography editor Norman Rothschild visits Los Angeles, California, to check out the photo-equipment businesses there. Ponder & Best get quite an extensive writeup, only part of which is shown here. Notable is their active role in encouraging Mamiya's dual-metering DTL series. They also view the three camera lines they distribute (Exakta, Olympus Pen, and Mamiya/Sekor) as complementary.

S-head compared to 580ex II. 580 is 375 grams, and S-head is 250 grams.

Hey, why not take a minute to read my writeup of the panel, and see how I totally misused this photo for a joke photo sequence.

The New Lincoln Concept C Car, Where “C” Stands for “Crazy Cool & Chic”

This picture is taken at an Oasis just outside of Palm Desert Ca .The San Andreas fault line runs along the hillside and forces water to the surface in the middle of the desert. It is fascinating to encounter lush growth and freely running water in the midst of the desert. A park preserve is located here. It is a spot where gold miners stopped overnite on their quest for gold. I have attached a link to a more elaborate writeup on this area

Traveling out from Center City Rochester along State Route 31, about the place where urban sprawl ends and the City become Pittsford sits Long Meadow, the first ever Monroe County subdivision.

Developed in the early 1900's when the main way into the City was a trolley line, that ran alongside the alternately dusty or muddy two-lane dirt road, “the Avenue”. It ran from City Rochester to Village Pittsford and back.

The subdivision was “advertised as ‘Long Meadow Bungalow Sites’”. Now a lovely neighborhood with large lots, mature landscaping, and homes of varied architectural style.

I happened upon the area by accident. A friend whose car was in the shop needed a ride. This brought me into the subdivision. I was struck by the peace and beauty of the neighborhood. And as I drove out the variety of architectural styles. By chance I had my camera with me and just had to snapped away.

Information for this writeup came from The history of Long Meadow - Part 1 and Part 2 on the town of Pittsford web site.

monks at the Buddhist Kai Yuan temple in Quanzhou

Found a nice writeup on the history of the temple at http://www.travelchinaguide.com/attraction/fujian/quanzhou/kaiyuan-temple.htm

Built in 686 (during the reign of Empress Wu Zetian), Kaiyuan Temple is located on West Street in Quanzhou City. The entire complex covers an area of over 19 acres. Through past restorations, it has now become a fairly complete set of courtyard galleries. As the largest Buddhist temple in Fujian Province, Kaiyuan Temple has attracted many domestic and foreign travelers who are interested in Buddhist culture.

Most of the temple's architecture has special artistic features of the Tang (618-907), the Song (960-1279), the Yuan (1271-1368), the Ming (1368-1644), and the Qing (1644-1911) Dynasties. Major buildings in Kaiyuan Temple include Tianwang Hall, Daxiong Palace, the Sweet Dew Temple, the Sutra Depository, and Gongde Tang. Two long corridors and two stone towers date from the Song Dynasty (960-1279). In addition, many cultural relics are kept in the temple.

In front of Kaiyuan Temple are two imposing stone towers. The east one is called Zhenguo Tower and stands 158 feet high, while the west one is called Renshou Tower and stands 145 feet high. This pair of towers is the highest stone towers in China. Due to their uniqueness, they are regarded as a special landmark of Quanzhou City. On every floor of each tower, lifelike carvings of arhats and knights can be seen around the niches, on the walls, and on the eaves
