I submitted another version of this shot to Instagram for their "tea time" weekend photo challenge, but I think I might have been stretching the theme a bit.

Found 2003

Carbonaceous chondrite (CV3)

Hundreds of fragments (total weight of 5895 g) were purchased in Erfoud, Morocco in December 2003 by Adam and Greg Hupé. Description and classification (Ted Bunch and James Wittke, NAU): olive gray to tan in color depending on the degree of weathering. In thin section, much of the matrix has a pronounced “ripple” texture: subparallel, curvilinear thin bands of olivine grains (Fa32-36), up to 10 µm in size, enclose pod-like masses of micron to submicron Fe-rich olivine (Fa42-58), pyroxenes, sulfides and minor weathering products. Chondrules are typically <2 mm in diameter, although a few chondrules may be as large as 8 mm in diameter. A small stone was found to contain a dark inclusion measuring approximately 9 cm by 2.5 cm by 1 cm. Many types of small CAI inclusions are present and rarely exceed a few mm in diameter. Low weathering grade: no metal observed in the matrix, although some chondrules contain fresh metal. Specimens: 20.3 g, NAU; main mass, Hupé.

A current photo of this theatre some forty years on.

Apparently, it used to be the Sri Meaung Theater, now it is the "Chinatown Rama". There's a great writeup over at the Southeast Asian Movie Theater Project.

I find it interesting that the heart-eating scene seems to have become the iconic look for Daenerys cosplay.

So I am feeling better - and thank you to everyone who left me comments, sent flickrmails, e-mailed and IM'ed me, you really are sweet, I do so appreciate it - and after going to the gym I decided to do a little girly pampering. It definitely helps being a freelance artist for a company that gives you tons of free stuff. Hellllllo gratis!

Face masks have come a long way, hey? Now they are a nice iridescent glowy pink instead of weird green stuff. Now I am nice and relaxed and realized it is 9pm and I still didn't do that thing I have to do. Hmm...

Traveling out from Center City Rochester along State Route 31, about the place where urban sprawl ends and the City become Pittsford sits Long Meadow, the first ever Monroe County subdivision.

Developed in the early 1900's when the main way into the City was a trolley line, that ran alongside the alternately dusty or muddy two-lane dirt road, “the Avenue”. It ran from City Rochester to Village Pittsford and back.

The subdivision was “advertised as ‘Long Meadow Bungalow Sites’”. Now a lovely neighborhood with large lots, mature landscaping, and homes of varied architectural style.

I happened upon the area by accident. A friend whose car was in the shop needed a ride. This brought me into the subdivision. I was struck by the peace and beauty of the neighborhood. And as I drove out the variety of architectural styles. By chance I had my camera with me and just had to snapped away.

Information for this writeup came from The history of Long Meadow - Part 1 and Part 2 on the town of Pittsford web site.

The architecture is awesome here because it's designed to get people to communicate with each other (open area, single coffee bar, etc). I'm sure you've read that ad nauseum in writeups of Pixar.

I've seen women dressed up as Willie before, but never with the chorus singers too.
