Gracie and Benni have had a hard time trying to get together during the recent heat wave. Yesterday they ran on the field and wrestled and chased until they were tired enough for a trail walk. And this photo.
Gracie will be 2 in Dec. and has become Benni's most loved friend. Both are being good girls and looking at their moms.
This is Boris, the subject of my first "pet" shoot. Boris's shoot was actually last summer, but I'm at work (and will be all holiday weekend, since I'm on call... sigh) and for some reason I had this image stored on the computer at work, so I thought I'd post it.
Boris was a tough subject... energetic, fast and easily distracted. Still, his handler and I were able to get some decent shots in the end.
Taken with my Pentax K1000.
Hope you all enjoy your Labor Day weekend... think of me and all the animal emergencies I'll be seeing, and send some good vibes my way. And if you decided not to enjoy your Labor Day weekend, I'll have to come and kick you and beat you, because you have no idea how much I do not want to be on call this weekend. Sigh.
One shot in comments!

i wanted to use this photo for matea's 52 weeks project, but decided on a running shot since i don't get the chance to shoot her running very often these days.
sometimes she does it so well
it wasn't the best quality photo so i did a little enhancing.
...and that's melting snow on her noggin.
once again, waiting till the last minute. it's just not a good year for me ... i'm exhausted and in pain ... on my way to bed where my lizard awaits.
There's a new Monarch Of the Glen in town.
Young pup Ci, the German Wirehaired Pointer lords it up in the Highlands.

Meet Trudy, a Miniature Wirehaired Dachshund with a tonne of personality. She's very clever and extremely lively...what a treat. I just love her distinctive facial furnishings. That beard and those eyebrows are to die for.
Longhaired Chihuhua has been living with us for the last month. She is currently 8-9 weeks and never really had a mother. This picture was somewhat blurry, so I'm thinking of using it as a tiny avatar image.
***Ahhhh, Flickr Gods, thank you so very much for the "Explore" distinction****
where they are right now ... well, were. now they're down here in the studio begging for dinner. and on wednesdays, that's always wabbit.
I wanted to take a portrait of Gaga with a rainbow in the background but it was a bit faint, so it wasn't gonna happen ;) So instead we just have a nice portrait of Gaga
Not been on flickr much recently, boo! I have been doing lots of dog walking though, and turning the camera on my furry friends when I get a chance. My sofa was covered with cheese and dog biscuits for this shot. Maybe I better have it cleaned soon :)
"...and i'll blow your tree down!"
matea at the chipmunk tree. that's bark on her tongue from trying to chew the tree down.
Gracie is over 6 months old now and her half brother, Hobson, is 13 months. Hobby belongs to trail friends and is where Gracie's owner first saw the breed. These two LOVE each other and have ever since they met. They leap into the tall grasses and run and chase.
Benni plays with them and has fun until Gracie lies down. Then Benni gets barky and jumps around Gracie trying to get her to get up again. Gets between Hobson and Gracie. Weird behavior. We think she is being protective and wants Gracie on her feet again.
The hardworking Wirehaired Pointing Griffon, renowned as the 'supreme gundog, is known for the harsh, low-shedding coat the breed is named for. Outgoing, eager, and quick-witted, Griffs are incomparable in the field and loving at home.
note the water still running off her chest.
THIS is my girl. she knows not to shake until i tell her "shake!" :)
baths around here - although work - always hold something special for me. when going to see matea for the first time up at a shelter 2 hours north, she'd run through a patch of poison ivy only minutes after my arrival. i returned her to the shelter asking if she could be washed...after all, i hadn't driven 2+ hours to spend only five minutes with the dog. the staff was too busy, so i was allowed to bathe her myself. it was my first connection with matea.
oddly enough, my introduction to morley was almost the same....having driven over an hour to meet him, i discovered that his rear was covered and matted in feces. staff was too busy, so again, it was a bath that was my initial connection with the old man.
