Wintry scenes like this will soon be upon us. Some of us will be curled under a blanket in front of the fireplace, with two dogs on either side, sipping hot chocolate, reminiscing of warm summer days and good things to come.
The trees may be bare now, but the outdoor temperature was nearly sixty degrees F/fifteen C today. I went places without a coat!
In winter, landscapes are sometimes very monochromatic especially if it's an overcast day. Everything appears like a black and white photo. I guess that's why pen and ink drawings work so well during the winter months. This painting captures a scene in the Upper Gatineau Valley and is a larger version of the scene that I previously posted as a pen and ink sketch.
Testing my new toy Polaroid 110A.. Self converted to use 100 and 80 type pack films. Wheeeheee.. I finally got it to work properly! :-)
It is a great, sturdy and massive camera, which looks
absolutely awesome for my eyes.
I added it just a new neck strap and the whole package looks like new. I can not wait to try it with Close-Up Lens Kit # 550.
Photographed from the Tuckerman Ravine Trail, near the Hermit Lake caretaker's cabin. It was a mild but very windy day, too windy for reaching the higher summits. So we hiked into "Tuck's" instead, soaked up some sun, and watched numerous backcountry skiers "earning their turns."
Thank you for visiting!
