Against the wind
I'm still running against the wind
I'm older now but still running against the wind
Well, I'm older now and still running
Against the wind...

Man's best friend always in the thick of things...
Made a quick visit to my local beach at Sandy Point, Hayling Island yesterday evening to capture the sunset.
The weather conditions were not great with a strong wind blowing from the West creating salt spray on the filters so I took shelter behind the groyne and decided to try some long exposures, but I was limited to around 30 seconds as over this time the images were affected by the salt!
25 seconds exposure using a Lee Little Stopper 6 stop + Lee 0.9 ND grad filters over the sky.
Thanks for any comments you may wish to leave.

"You're water. We're the millstone.
You're wind. We're dust blown up into shapes.
You're spirit. We're the opening and closing
of our hands. You're the clarity.
We're the language that tries to say it.
You're joy. We're all the different kinds of laughing."

Already finished shooting, I went from the river to the road ... I saw dozens of bumblebees in large flowers. A strong wind was blowing, so it was quite difficult to catch several individuals when it was cloudy ...
Farewell, North East Moonsoon.
See you again in November ;(

The Renault Wind was introduced in 2010 as a small coupé based on the Twingo. Unlike the Twingo it was very unsuccesful. In 2013 production of the Wind was stopped.
A decorative pinwheel spins itself into a psychedelic blur, propelled by another blast of arctic wind that sweeps over the village cemetery. The winter was running at or above average up until Christmas. That's when the party officially ended and cold air finally settled in. Funny thing is it feels as if it's been like this for a month already. I'm getting conditioned to the cold and find it mostly tolerable if you layer up the clothing and actually spend some time outdoors. If your outdoor exposure is limited to running back and forth from warm car to warm house, you'll just be miserable. I love exploring out in all sorts of weather extremes. However I won't miss this arctic cold.
Just one I took on a windy day, of which we have plenty, while a sheet was flapping about and my sock was hanging around in the background. Acknowledgements to my wife for her arrangement of the materials.
Thanks for any comments and hope you are enjoying the weekend.
Please don't post your photos here nor GLITTERY IMAGES. They will be removed. Don't invite me to any group. I will not accept ;-)
Good morning everyone. Just a single pic of a wind blown male Red-bellied Woodpecker (Melanerpes carolinus). Just my way to convey the horrendous winds we had yesterday. The day this bird was photographed back in December was mild in comparison to the wind we experienced yesterday.
By late morning the wind was consistently up around 35 mph and only got worse in the afternoon at around 40 - 50 mph with gusts close to 60. It didn't subside until late at night, but by that time the electrical power had been out for hours.
Worst wind event I can remember experiencing living here, which has been for 20 + years now. And on a clear day to boot...no storms. Needless to say we have quite a mess to deal with as far as fallen branches & tree limbs so I'll be mostly absent here on flickr today. It's one of the negatives with having a large yard with numerous mature trees.
Truth be known, I'm dreading when the sun comes up and we get to see just how big of a mess we have to contend with :-(
But as hubbie always says...be thankful, things could have been worse. Which is true.
Thank you for stopping by...and I hope you're having a much better weekend.

Back to SA again and doing the Woakwine Range Wind Farm Tourist Drive a little before sunset. These turbines are pretty big and you can hear the tips rip through the air.
