The Cedar Point Wind Energy project outside of Limon, CO. This wind farm has an installed power capacity of 250.2 megawatts with each turbine capable of putting out 1.8MW. The land it sits on still serves its function before the wind farm was built. Ranches and fields go on and these turbines quietly spin away on the winds. I have seen studies that these farms affect birds negatively… I am not sure on this as I saw an amazing array of wildlife living in this area, and thriving. In the time I was there I saw multiple bats, owls, hawks and larger birds of prey. Not to mention the coyotes, buffalo and pronghorns.
This was taken from a trip that I did a few years ago. On the way home I stopped by the hills around Livermore and got some great light and clouds at the same time! Looking back at this image I would have tried using a nd filter to get some movement in the windmill but I still enjoy how it came out!

[ÈNG] Doñana's National park (Spain), beach ecosystem, Doñana's National Park includes five different ecosystems: Beaches, Dunes, Border, Marsh and Forest. The beach is one of the wider virgin coasts of Europe, with about 35km between the town of Matalascañas (Huelva) and the mouth of the Guadalquivir river. The beaches of Doñana represent an intense dynamism and change their profile constantly due to the sea regressions through the centuries. Southwestern winds cause the continuous transport of sands over the beaches of the National Park, moved afterwards to the inside forming the trains of mobile dunes. On the beach, shelter of thousands of coastal birds, the remains of marine species such as crustaceans and fish accumulate, and often it is possible to find cetaceans and marine turtles. La playa constituye una de las costas vírgenes más amplias de Europa, con unos 35 Km. entre Matalascañas (Huelva) y la desembocadura del río Guadalquivir, y presentan un intenso dinamismo, modificándose constantemente su perfil debido a las progresiones y regresiones marinas en el transcurso de los siglos. Los vientos de componente SW originan el transporte incesante de arenas sobre las playas del Parque Nacional, trasladadas posteriormente al interior formando trenes de dunas móviles. Canadian Hydro’s Southern Alberta Wind Plants are located in the southwest corner of Alberta, with the majority of turbines near the small town of Cowley, which is just west of Pincher Creek along Highway #3. Additional turbines are located directly west of Pincher Station, south of Fort MacLeod and near Magrath, which is south of Lethbridge.

Altamont Pass Wind Farm
These are wind turbines at Altamont Pass, Livermore, California, USA. The turbines form lines scattered on the hilltops at about 15 kilometers in diameter. There are 4 thousands of them, being the world's largest wind farm in terms of number of turbines. There are at least 7 varieties but older and smaller types.
I thought this was interesting, the way the wind hit the water creating a hard line between reflections and rippled water.

Dovrefjell - Norway
A last frame from a series of pictures taken last December in Norway, on a very powerful blizzard, bathed in sun - in that period the days are very short (only a few hours) and the sun is always at a low angle, thus illuminating the landscape with a warm light, continuously, from morning until night.
