A cold wind blows through the fields. Mamiya RB67 SD.

Autumn also brings a lot of changes to the birds, and very noticeable is the one on the finches that completely lose their bright yellow plumage to a mix of very dull green-yellowish that makes us to take a second look.

Right now here in PA the rain has started and many trees have lost their leaves, but they still have a unique charm specially at the end of a sunny day. The wind has move from place to place tons of leaves that are forming colorful skirts which now makes it difficult to know from which tree were originally from.

This image had only a white background so I decided to merge a second one with autumn leaves.

Perfect for the autumn mood...

Located in Azores, Pico Island, this tree is part of the typical Azores flora and it's called "Cedro-do-mato" and is known for their branches twisted by exposure to winds.

Barley ready to be harvested.

This image didn’t go as planned, for the balloon I thought was a part of the setup was flown by the man sitting on the edge of the balloon and he did avoid the ship, but I was winded down by the balloon. So maybe I should have called the image for:

Hit and blow!!

Interesting juxtaposition of a cattle farm against a Wind Farm. I captured this image while visiting the southernmost point in the Big Island of Hawaii and, for that matter, in the United States.

The Tawhiri Power LLC is an independent power producer that supplies electricity for the State of Hawaii. The Pakini Nui Wind Farm is Tawhiri's principle project and is located near South Point on the Big Island of Hawaii. Since 2007, the wind farm has supplied approximately 18,000 Hawaiian homes per year with a green and renewable source of electrical power.

About the Wind Farm:

The south point area of Hawaii is one of the best places in the world for a wind farm because of its exceptionally strong and consistent trade winds. As as result, Tawhiri Power LLC selected this location for the Pakini Nui Wind Farm.

Construction of the wind farm began in August of 2006 and was completed in early 2007. On April third, 2007 the wind farm began commercial operation. There are a total of fourteen General Electric 1.5 Mega-Watt SE turbines at Pakini Nui. These turbines can provide nearly 21 Mega-Watts of electricity for the Big Island of Hawaii.

The Pakini Nui Wind Farm is located 7 miles down South Point Road from its junction with Route 11.

Happy Monochrome Monday, everyone!

To get this shot I used a dive housing and swam out into the surf from Dog Beach in San Diego. The sun set behind some clouds and it immediately became dark and had a calm yet stormy feel. I tried to accentuate this feel with the processing in Lightroom

Urban landscape from Troon, Scotland.

In the absence of a glorious sunset I trained the cameras away from the sun and found a kite surfer setting up on dry land. In my mind the strings looked to be attached to the scaffolded building. Enjoy!

It's as if the sunflowers already knew what was about to happen, as they tilted their heads as if that would bring something. Thank you little suns for this opportunity.

A wind surfer on our harbour in high winds and mid winter cold. Taken while having lunch at a sports complex cafe.

Summer Wind_Frank Sinatra

The summer wind came blowin' in from across the sea

It lingered there, to touch your hair and walk with me

All summer long we sang a song and then we strolled that golden sand

Two sweethearts and the summer wind

Like painted kites, those days and nights they went flyin' by

The world was new beneath a blue umbrella sky

Then softer than a piper man, one day it called to you

I lost you, I lost you to the summer wind

The autumn wind, and the winter winds they have come and gone

And still the days, those lonely days, they go on and on

And guess who sighs his lullabies through nights that never end

My fickle friend, the summer wind

The summer wind

Warm summer wind

The summer wind

Here's a little landscape from our local park, on this nice sunny day. It was lovely for Marnie and me to escape just for a little while into the freshness of an early February morning. The sense of freedom was wonderful ! Troubles and worries simply dropped away for bit.

artworks on paper by Yanomano

The “line_up“ is a paperwork series I developed since 2010. The “liners” are made out of paper (Din A3/A4),

oil paint and graphite. The theme is the hermetical laws of polarity and movement. There is no ending and no beginning in any direction, just an endless movement. You have the possibility to arrange the papers like you want and that makes it an endless playground for my photo-work and the eyes of the viewers.

It's called Wind Ridge for a reason. It was howling up here and difficult to remain standing upright. That's Pigeon Mountain on the left and the diagonal trail is Skogan Pass.
